HOW TO DYE MARK AN ELEPHANT SEAL !

Dye marking is an essential tool to study elephant seal behavior, because it permits fast and safe identification of animals from the distance (which also reduces disturbance over time). It is accomplished by surprise using commercial hair dye. Here you can see how it works !
