I have a theory about the core set cards, I believe they will bring the Un'goro quests back: Mage: recently got synergies for it with all "add cards to your hand" cards Warrior: received taunt synergies Rogue: Just got all the minion bouncing stuff which can help with playing a minion multiple times Druid: Got synergies with playing cards that cost 5 or more Warlock: Also received discard synergy cards The fact that almost all archetypes from back then recently got support seems like an indicator that quests may be coming back.
Or they just running out of ideas... Bringing back some lesser played ones (warrior, priest, druid, hunter, shaman, warlock) would be cool but unnerfed quest rogue and mage in standard could ruin the expansion.

@@josiahkrodel4656 Not saying it'll be good but infinite value vs infinite value with lifesteal is a massive difference. Actually might live long enough to get some use out of the infinite value. But most good cards have battlecries so losing that when Kangor swaps with them might be a problem.
@Mimighster nonimmediate lifesteal. Lifesteal is better on spells then minions as spells can destroy them before they proc it. And spells garentee it lands.
A somewhat important sidenote (in my humble opinion obv): If you overheal a minion that is already at full health simply to trigger it's overheal effect you're wasting healing efficiency. Now yes, some overheal effects can and maybe should be designed to trigger several times in one turn, but generally speaking I think you should value overheal as a "once a turn" effect and see how it feels in this case, because that would mean the minion got value first, then the healing effect and finally the overheal bonus. If the overheal effect feels good under that circumstance you can imagine it being overall strong as you maximize efficiency and also preserve the opportunity to trigger the effect multiple times at once (if possible and more beneficial in that scenario)
I'm kind of hoping to see circle of healing come back with this set, but that would probably be too strong with the overheal. I also want to point out that you can use Jive Insect on an enemy minion potentially stopping big death rattles or just preventing a big minion from attacking. A fun interaction.
Jive Insect looks like it'll work pretty well with the new Shaman weapon too for the discount. A fun play, but I'm somewhat doubtful how practical it'd be in normal play.
the thing about drum circle is that token druid thrives on the back of having an endless number of boards and an endless number of follow-ups. while neither mode of drum circle is particularly competitive, i think its flexibility to be both board or follow-up depending on your need means it will see play
I love to see the return of a failed archetype in a new light with druid this expansion. I also LOVE the flavor, in my mind "hippie" music is long and drawn out thus big high cost cards. So awesome!! Dont know how deathrattle connects to disco
Well, the Shaman deck now looks kinda fun. Using Prescience you can tutor out stuff like Bonewhisper and Thaddius. Get thaddius on even polarity after bonewhisper dies to get him out for free, Totem, Jive Insect, and Criminal Line-up on in one turn for a pretty neat otk or at least a board of 4 rags. But, outside of Mark doing that, not sure if it'll be consistent enough.
Ok, hear me out. Drum circle is a fairly bad card, we can all agree on that. But, if you can play both effects of the card (via one of the cards that allows you to trigger both choose effects) it becomes “summon 5 4/6 minions with taunt and give current friendly minions +2/+4 and taunt” which is pretty decent. Don’t know if there’ll be much support for that but if you can manage to make it happen then the card is viable. (That is until the meta is only decks that kill you in the first 5 rounds, but surely that won’t happen… again).
I really hope they add the auchenai cards back into priest on this core set, and lethal damage done by the damaging healing effect counts as overhealing.

Considering paladin can just start picking three free legendaries , already behind 0 mana 5/5 taunts, did they really need annoyolord and such too? And be able to cheat him out of their deck AND their hand?
You could combine leadrin with dancing king to summon a beeg minion from hand in the same turn and if you find a way to make the dancing king cheaper mid turn you cheat. Up to 3 minion a turn if you have the juice
Next hearthstone annoy-o: Annoy-o-King 10 mana 4/6 *Taunt, Divine Shield, Battlecry:* for the rest of the game, summon a 1/2 mech with *Divine Shield* and *Taunt* at the end of your turn.
If annoy-o-troupe gets played a lot people will probably play the stealth fan as a tech card because it's very hard for you to kill off your own annoy-o-troupe and it only has 3 attack so you can just ignore it for a few turns and kill them for the aggro decks that it counters. Although it mostly depends on if it will ruin your consistency, how many paladins you're really playing into, and if the decks would just kill faster without it.
OK I have some ideas but I'm gonna need to wait for the paladin jokes, that said I already know where I should be tempting to name my priest deck either it should be totally: NSYNC Or 'heal me baby baby alright?' that said if priest becomes dominant I expect so many jokes of the Backstreet Boys are back on tour!

Wow. March of the Lich King was great for 2 weeks and all but quickly got stale. These cards so far are all in favor of really interesting gamepland. Sure they could just be the new broken thing, but at least this seems like theyre trying to bring more goofy fun into the game again.
Druid is the most OP class in the game and needs to be removed I did 84 damage to a druid player last night over the course of the game I kept getting the nuts and making huge boards after boards and they just upped there mana to 20 and keep copying taunts that give armor eventually I fiyigued and died! And I'm an agrro build I almost had the bastards but he cheated and gained 20 armor in like 1 turn
Maybe I’m in the minority, but I’m really not a fan of the ‘packages’ they’re doing these days; it seems like every set is so well-tuned to work together on release that deckbuilding and ‘off-meta’ strategies are increasingly obsolete. Plus, if this is the power of set 1 of rotation I’m scared we’ll be playing Yu-Gi-Stone by the end of the year…
i think most people are not a fan of it, its supposed to be geared to giving casual players strong easy decks to build each expansion but it really does just make every class incredibly samey feeling, i do hate it quite a bit and wish they made things that were a bit less put blocks in right square and a bit more ya know, like a deckbuilding card game, i like a lot of the designs in this expansion so far but its soured constantly by the fact that the format will be solved in two weeks with dying on turn 5 most games or getting locked out and dying to a combo just like last year

Disco Paladin is the thing that has gotten me most interested in potentially playing Hearthstone again for the first time since Ashes of Outland.

Idols Adoration can also be run in shadow priest, which trades the 1/1 body of your guide for another use.
