    For those that want to know, as this guy can't recall what size he bought,
    it's the LARGE one shown, called the "Gulliver" that the Russian fellow sells.

    NO... DONT MODIFY THE CLAMP. MODIFY THE BENCH RAIL BOTTOM.

      It actually works great on a small plywood shelf under the one portion of the work bench. I can use it that why while seated or standing. This thing is pretty slick!

  • @UnoerKgreS
    @UnoerKgreS 5 лет назад +4

    Try clamping it to the 2x4 of your bench frame (with the clamp part horizontal).

    • @CKKnifeandTool
      @CKKnifeandTool  5 лет назад

      I have a small shelf under the work bench that seems to work out great. Perfect height sitting on the stool and standing. Might have to notch the 2x4 though. Between that and the 1.25" plywood top it's too thick. Thanks for watching and the tip.

    I am having trouble ordering one of these Gulliver stitching clamps.Can you tell me what is the size table clamp? Will it fit a 4 inch table.

    Looks like a very easy build to me. Would not need plans to do it. Just look at it a few times and go from there. Not sure I would make it out of plywood though. Would be prettier from actual wood! :)

    Q: if i sent the size of my bolt, do you think you can make me a small wood piece i can use to cover the bolt that turns the large screw upwards? Like yours but not as big? I don't do woodwork at all and it will help having one for my hand strength.

    • @CKKnifeandTool
      @CKKnifeandTool  5 лет назад

      Andrea Tomonaga .... That’s a tough one. I’m not sure if the bolt goes through the wood knob or if the wood knob is just epoxied over the top of the bolt. As for making you one, I’m sure I could do it I just don’t have the time to get it done. That is, get a project like that completed in the next 3-4 months.

      Use a bottle lid to cover the bolt😊

    The one in South Korea is the exact same.
    I am a leather crafter. I bought the portable one from S. Korea because i wasnt sure about the russian version. But they are the same...
    I like the small one, but mine didn't come with the small wood turn for the bolt. He only makes them for his large clamps. Its tiny to fit in my purse/bag so i can take it anywhere. You may want to try a small one to take on the go so you dont have to haul your big one😉
    I will probably get the bigger one from romanov as his s/h and clamp is slightly less.

      what the quality Romanov with a Korean one?. Korean one is expensive and he did not reply I wrote him/her twice. I have simple 2 ponies but like to buy either romanov or Korean one(dream factory)

      Andrea Tomonaga ... When I was looking, only two folks popped up and yes, one was Korean based and then this Russian based company. The Korean one was listed out of stock but I also had a friend using the Russian branded one so those two reasons are why I have this one. The small didn’t concern me because I have to plans to stitch and travel.

    • @CKKnifeandTool
      @CKKnifeandTool  4 года назад

      Riley Wyatt ... If I recall, they had a small and large. This was the large. Maybe there was three...? 🤔 Then this would be the medium size. You’d have to check but it was not the small or travel size one.

    where can I get plans for free?

  • @allanpennington
    @allanpennington 4 года назад +1

    Im intersected to know if you have had the jaw adjustment threaded bolt hole wear out. I understand from another reviewer that the thread is cut into the wood. That is there is no insert for a metal nut. Because the angle changes as the jaw is closed there is pressure on the bolt and thus the threaded hole since it stays in the same plane. The knurled hand wheel remains vertical and the bolt is at right angles to it, but the contact face of the jaw where the hand wheel meets can't stay flush throughout its full movement. This guy sort of mentions this problem with the Dream Factory one or he might mean the Romanov one or both, he is a little unclear. So I thought I would ask you as you have the rusky model. ruclips.net/video/XCefjnnP_qo/видео.html
