Got all excited (head exploded😀) I was looking for a replacement for my robovac. I had seen Brian’s review and thought I had missed a UK purchasing option then came the elephant in the room 😀 “uk coming soon”
Watched this whilst grabbing breakfast in spoons in a quiet corner.. The oh yes ! That's what she said was louder than I expected and the scornful look from a lady sat opposite , thinking I was watching adult videos made me chuckle even harder..Thank you for brightening up every Saturday!! ❤
Thanks Paul for another great review. It would be great if you could address the integration capabilities of these vacuums with HA. That’s the first thing I look for in any smart device and a lack of integration is an immediate deal breaker for me. Keep doing what you do man, love the channel.
This looks like an awesome robovac, elephants aside. I was always wondering why the damned things couldn't see dirt and go back and get it. The obstacle avoidance looks great too. We have a Narwal that the wife installed, will have to go see if its this exact one. 🙂 Great job on the video, tons of sound edits, cutaways and humor. The sponsor got their money's worth and we all benefit. 🎉
Out of all the Robo Vac videos I have watched on your channel, this might be the one that I actually buy. Previous vacs didn't seem like they would be useful to me due to the setup of my home but I think this thing will be a game changer!
Ok let’s get things straight!!! You are by far the most entertaining chap I’ve seen on YT!!! I just got my new Narwal yesterday before your review and I can now breathe a sigh of relief. Cheers
Me: the amount of edits, especially the music, that you make ‘on the fly’ are so frikin funny 😅 I love your vids. You: 😊 The fly: I fell like I’m being taken for a ride 😂❤
The biggest elephant you didn't cover is integration with smart systems. Home Assistant integration doesn't exist and no open AI. Alexa/Google works. Homekit doesn't exist but has Siri voice control through their app/cloud. Can you use your power with them to get clearer answers on this?
Great review Paul, 'possiblly' your best video I e seen for a while, great mix of comedy and film/TV clips, it actually had be laughing. I am in need of a new robovac as my roborock 8 seems very old and just meh compared to today's offerings, so I may actually buy one. 👍
Thank you for addressing the important question of 'does this device play nicely with the other robovacs in my collection?'. This is becoming an increasing issue for those of us with a "collection" of robovacs (i.e. no impulse control), or whatever the correct collective noun is :)
Great video Paul. I would like to have one for sure, especially since I have a Siberian husky and vacuuming hair is a daily event. But $1400 bucks is just stupid money for that. I will just keep using my Ryobi stick vacuum for now. Keep up the great vids! 🤣On the fly...Still Funny!
Thanks for the great vid! Your editing chops are impressive and the product looks great. I wish it could hook into home assistant, or node red, or alexa, but what can you do? PS y'all need Canada links!
Nice review, and I'm looking for a robovac update too as, after 5 years, my current one is really struggling. Also, nice design, the home unit looks like EVE from Wall-E
It’s the best looking Robovac so far. I know that shouldn’t be a big deal, but they’re always on display. Thankfully it’s also the best mop I’ve tried yet
you are the best! I "lost" you for a long time which is my own fault, I should've subscribed earlier (sorry!) but I DID now! You would make a 30 minute review on knitting needles interesting to watch. Sooo much work put in these videos, that alone deserves a subscription (again sorry!).
For the price, I think it should have a dust bin in the base. I have a Roomba with this - I have to change the bag about once a month. With the bin on the vacuum, it might be every 1-2 days. Yes - this is laziness, but we are talking about robot vacuums so lazy is part of the deal.
First of all, the dust container in the Freo has 1 Liter - bigger than the usual container in robots. The dust bags in the stations have around 3 Liters. So even without the compression feature of the Freo it should last 1/3 of the time of these. Narwal claims it lasts 70 days? Other reviewers say it last for about one month.
@@hifimacianerNarwal claims “up to 7 weeks” so “up to” 49 days… but if you have the super early bird special Narwal sends 12 for the year… so probably about 30 days
What a beautiful surprise at the end of the video, I’m privileged to have seen you flourish as a creator & it makes me proud to call you a friend. I’ll always be your biggest ding dong 😘 xxx
Hi, I've got a question about using it in a Multi-floor house: When you lift the Narwal Freo X Ultra upstairs, will it simply start vacuuming after pressing the Power button on top of the Robot? Or do I have to use my phone, open the App, active the correct floor, change mode from "Vacuum and Mop" to "Vacuum", enlarge the 1.5m selection box because it won't allow me to select rooms, have to check when it's finished because the App won't alert me at 100%, "Press and hold for 2s to end the task" the Start button, to force it to end the stuck-at-100%-session because upstairs it won't end the session by itself, lift it downstairs and make sure my belly won't hit the front bumper otherwise the wheels start spinning so that it nearly drops out of my hands, then change to the correct floor again by using my phone, while having the male english voice selected and the Robot talking to me in asian? Please let me know, thanks!
I'm in the market for a robo vac so I'm definitely watching your vids with even more interest now. Hopefully they'll have a UK date soon (& a nice price tag as well) Thanks again for more great reviews on the fly
It's a shame it doesn't empty itself at the base station. Multiple floors support should be in the software too, you are right. They will get there one day, hopefully.
Was in wetherspoons tonight talking about your channel and couple others. Spouse Approval Factor came up. All because he noticed I was looking at home assistant app chatted for ages.
30 years plus of dogs ownership and none have crapped in the house unless they have been left for an unreasonably long amount of time or are ill and have had an accident. So I would think what is more relevant is how these vacs deal with dog hair on trickly carpet materials which is a problem for most of us dog owners, and small toys, bits of Lego for example because they are considerably more likely to come across that sort of thing than a dog turd in all honesty.
Seems to me there is a bit of a war going on between the manufacturers at the moment. Other tech reviewers have other models to showcase, all claiming them to be the best thing since sliced bread. I say bring it on -the customers are the likely winners. Great vid Paul. Keep it up.
No dock empty? That'd be a no for me. That's not so much an issue with someone who doesn't have pets, but if you have you do, that's a necessary feature.
We had a succession of Roomba iRobot’s but they are not very good, the newer versions seem to be quite erratic. Finally swapped to a Proscenic M7 Pro with dust box about 18 months ago and never looked back !. Of course a month later the M8 Pro came into being with a bigger water bucket but there you go !. Mind you at $1200.00 (about £800) I don’t think I will be buying one soon, could employ a cleaner for that sort of dosh !
Holy crap!!! I thought you said it was 500 quid cheaper than Roborock, $1300, Jesus Christ! what RoboRock are you comparing it to? 🤯 Yes I know. That's about £ 1100 or something but that's mental money still, you can get a very very decent robovac for about 600.
The comparison is against the S8 pro ultra. You sure can get decent £600 robovacs (for what they are), but then you can also get decent £1000 cars, doesn’t mean the Ferrari doesn’t poop all over the £1000 car 😉
@@paulhibbert I guess it's a fair comment but you already know there are many decent robovac's for about 600, even less. That's top money still. Are you sure the S Pro Ultra is really $1800? I love tech but there is a point where the cost outweighs the benefit, you can get vacs that come with a docking station, water and bin emptying for half that.
I know what you’re saying, but I actually can’t find a robovac that has clean and dirty water tanks at the price you’re suggesting. There are vac and mop combos but the emptying stations seem to be dustbin only, a lot of the money goes into the self cleaning and drying which you don’t get in cheaper systems
@@paulhibbert I mean there is the DEEBOT X1e OMNI, it's not got the pedigree of RoboRock, that self emptys, rotary mops and drys 5000pa and it's about 550 quid, it also has mapping. Is it any good 🤷🏻♂️ just saying is the extra money for these top tier vacs reflected in what you get. My bet is you don't get loads more for that extra 500, but it all depends if you want the best of the best I suppose.
Hey Paul! Great entertaining and educational review. I do like that you show real life usage as well as pointing pros and cons. I’m curious if you could review the Eufy X10… For the price, it seems to be a lot of robot vacuum for the money. I think your take on it would be great to see and listen to. Cheers 🍻
Oh wow 😮. That looks awesome. I just had a look at their website and they have an Australian website as well. Usually can’t get half the good stuff here. Got a roborock s7 max ultra thing atm and gotta drop it off to get fixed after being in talks with roborock. Coming up with a fan error 18 I think it is after it was laying down too much water. Aaarrrggghhh. I like that the narwal can be plumbed in too. Thank you 🙏 so much for showing me this.
can you schedule it to do the carpet areas first before going back to wet the mop? my dreame L10 ultra does and thats really helpful - it can go vac the spare room first with no worry about damp carpets
That looks amazing, can I borrow it to test it with a young family and a Wife that moults like a long haired dog. If this thing can stay hair free then WOW
I have a Eufy one and has problems with going inside of bathroom as the floor level is 2.5 cm higher than the rest of apartment. Would love if you can test them for this as well … if quite disturbing that it can’t go over that small step especially if you connect it to water that would be the place to place it, no?
It does look like they designed a great machine. I got the Roborock last year though, so it'll be at least a few years before we can consider another one. By then, who knows what these things will be able to do. I wouldn't really call that a twerk, more of a shimmy. It would be twerking if the mop pads were moving up and down over and over.
As always great review Paul. Poop would never be a problem but it eating cables is kinda a deal breaker for me. Wonder if that can be corrected in firmware.... 14:34
You’re the second person to say this and I asked the other guy where the option was and he went silent. I’ve been right through the menu and the option isn’t there and when I put the robot upstairs and pressed go it just hunted for its base station and refused to do anything
Hello Paul, just a question. How about cliff detection? Does is recognize cliff or it need some kind of additional things such as magnetic strips or additional unit like for roomba (virtual wall)? Thank you.
‘Blue m&m stain…. I may have tried to feed it m&m’s’ These are the comments that make me proud to be a Patreon subscriber… My Eufi X8 I think of it like a puppy, when it gets hold of a cable lol
Thanks as always for the support dude! The best thing about a robovac grabbing a cable is the growling noises they make as you try to wrestle it off them 🤣
How do robot vacs deal with partially open UK interior doors? Or how do you deal with that? I feel we have a very different use case compared to places like the US where there is more open plan. A mini video idea maybe?
Nice review i have just looked for one online and they are not available in the UK and they are $1400 from there website that's expensive for a vacuum robot in my opinion.
Great video Paul!! Question for you…. Does their app require their own cloud service/servers? This is the first robo vacuum you’ve reviewed that seriously tempts me, but it’s a significant outlay and if they went bust and the thing no longer worked because their cloud/servers turned off.. Well, that would suck!! You see what I did there… 😂😂
Hey Paul! Any luck getting this thing into Home Assistant? The Roborock integration is great, which would push me to try and stay with their products. Otherwise this thing looks great! I wish it came in a black finish though.
This is definitely on my lidar antennae and thanks for highlighting 3 issues, turds, cables and stairs. My other concern is the caveman empty of the bag system (manual), how does it know and does it loose suction, the compacting the dirt close up did not look very convincing. I looked as though it would draw the hairs towards the filter and clog it up? Then what's the warranty period for this machine and availability in the UK?
Hang on. Haaaaaang onnnn… didn’t you say in the recent Narwal Freo X Ultra video from two months ago that it was the first robovac that could be plumbed in to do water exchanges? (9m58s - yes, I checked.)
You’re right! I intended to reference that I couldn’t install the Freo x ultra to the mains because the plumbing components were sold separately, and because its housing is too large to fit anywhere in my house near my plumbing, somewhere along the way I either decided to edit that out to save time, or I never actually filmed it because I made the decision pre production. I’m thinking the former is likely as I can hear a cut where my voice changes tone just after saying it’s the first robovac I’ve tried with this capability.
Fantastic video, generally funny, love your on the fly videos. The mopping function looks fantastic, how does it handle a carpet on a hard floor, say in a portion of the room when it's mopping the rest? Does it stop mopping and vacuum then go back to mopping? The lack of a multi floor does seem an odd thing to exclude. I did buy the Deebot Omni with AI I think after watching your review, and no this is not a negative on you, we love that robot, but it's mop is not great. It doesn't recognize cat puke either, but hey 😂. Great review as always, keep up the jokes, they make your videos great.
Thanks dude, in my testing it mopped and vacuumed first and then lifted it’s mop to go do the carpet, it would have been smarter to do it the other way around and it glided wet the carpet a little, but not terribly
So now I only need a company that makes robot stations flat, so I can install it right under my kitchen sink cabinet and use my existing plumbing like every dish washing machine. There is so much unused space
@@paulhibbert thx for the reply. Ah i saw it, but its just one half of the whole station system... under the cabinets is enough space for even the empty and cleaning part if it just get laid down ;)
I thought it transfered the dust into the dirty water, instant disqualifier. Shame that you can fully automate the water changes but not the dust bin! Either offer a big ass vacuum bag at the charging base or clean the dust bin with water automatically. Plus I hate that it's got a camera and the footage ends up in a cloud server.
So here’s a question. Every time I have to empty my robovac I have to check for Lego so as to not throw any away. With the compression action I assume that wouldn’t be easy?
Paul any chance you can review some of the latest wireless HDMi transmitter/receiver I watched a RUclips clip and it looked flawless but would appreciate an honest review
The most important question I cannot find an answer to anywhere. When will it be available for purchase in Europe? As it seems only available in US and Canada right now. PS I saw other reviewer that were able to do multi floor plans. Not that it matters to me.
Yesterday I got a bollocking for buying and Orville(esque) chair: your fault, of course. I’m just glad this vac isn’t yet available or I would be in deep do do. I bricked my Xiaomi vacuum mop p the other day by trying to root it, to make it local only, when I failed to realise that root had been patched. I brought it back from Wuhan, don’t you know, just before Covid kicked off. Erm. So I’m waiting for this one to come to uk now.
I've had it for two weeks. and I only get annoyed about one thing every day: the lack of multi-level functionality. Why? that's a bit annoying. The app specifically says: don’t move the base station. The device is so smart and good, and then something like that.
What an atrocious waste of time, please join the real world to make a difference. Your suggestion was not solicited and is not welcome here. We are a group of enthusiasts who enjoy this guys videos and all their glory! Just go do something real with your life. Nobody even ever liked the movie critics, and now we have you criticizing RUclips videos.
It fills its water tank, mops for a bit and returns to its base station for more clean water, it’s the first vac I’ve seen that you can increase the frequency of this. Its shortest cycle is every 86 feet, or you can do it by room so theoretically you could portion up a room into as many rooms as you like and have it return to wash its mop as often as you liked
Why is the lack of programming for multiple floors an issue? It’s not like the device can climb stairs. Do people actually unplug it and move it between floors? I always thought RoboVacs were a “one per floor” product.

Thanks dude! 😁👍🏻
Stumbled upon your channel and god you are weird.
I love it!
Dyson came up with that hair brush first. It was on their stick vacuum a while before.
How freck did you know I was on the toilet😮….😂😂😂
I’m watching you 😳
😂😂😂😂 I thought the same and got a laugh out of it 👀
@@paulhibbert in that case I’m very sorry you had to see that. 😂
As always great review Paul. Poop would never be a problem but it eating cables is kinda a deal breaker for me. Wonder if that can be corrected in firmware.... 14:34
It has multiple floor option upto 4 floors. Your video is quite informative but confusing the buyers seeking multiple floor option
Thank you.
Not yet available in UK and currently no available in US. 😔 I love my S5max and I think is time to change, waiting for a good tag price.
Thanks Paul. Happy Saturday. 🕺🏻
Happy Saturday Ron!
Good video Paul, do hope you’re going to carry on doing more robvac video’s 🎉
He has no choice now, he is the 👑king of Robovac reviews.
Only $1,500.00 Canadian. Cheaper than others Paul? Mmmmmm. Love you and your vid's
Think im still going to wait for the Eufy x10 pro
‘Blue m&m stain…. I may have tried to feed it m&m’s’
These are the comments that make me proud to be a Patreon subscriber…
My Eufi X8 I think of it like a puppy, when it gets hold of a cable lol
Thanks as always for the support dude! The best thing about a robovac grabbing a cable is the growling noises they make as you try to wrestle it off them 🤣
@@paulhibbert haha yep, like a puppy !!
Not into robovacs Paul but it was funny to watch. 😂
😱 is that a philips hue next to the vac 😂😂😂
You see what I did there… 😂😂
4:00 That movie clip fit soooo perfectly hahahaha. You got me laughing a LOT
I couldn’t believe how well that fit! 🤣
Hey Paul! Any luck getting this thing into Home Assistant? The Roborock integration is great, which would push me to try and stay with their products. Otherwise this thing looks great! I wish it came in a black finish though.
Hi Paul. Any idea when you will have a link for U.K. Amazon?
This is definitely on my lidar antennae and thanks for highlighting 3 issues, turds, cables and stairs. My other concern is the caveman empty of the bag system (manual), how does it know and does it loose suction, the compacting the dirt close up did not look very convincing. I looked as though it would draw the hairs towards the filter and clog it up? Then what's the warranty period for this machine and availability in the UK?
No camera for viewing and capturing videos and photos from the app? Other top brands have it.
When is this coming to the uk ? Do you know the price point it will be here ? And will your discount code work in the uk ? Thanks
I think Switchbot have a dock designed especially for that for their latest vacuum!
@@paulhibbert thx for the reply. Ah i saw it, but its just one half of the whole station system... under the cabinets is enough space for even the empty and cleaning part if it just get laid down ;)
No mention of the actual price and the Amazon link is busted, handy.
Curious if this can handle the fur from 2 golden retrievers!
Erm. So I’m waiting for this one to come to uk now.
for $1400 USD, it should come with happy ending massage!
I've had it for two weeks. and I only get annoyed about one thing every day: the lack of multi-level functionality. Why? that's a bit annoying. The app specifically says: don’t move the base station. The device is so smart and good, and then something like that.
What an atrocious waste of money. Please do not use real M&M's.
I was expecting to see Eminem as a smurf when he said about blue m&m 🤣
Have you seen the price of pretend M&Ms? It's no wonder people use real ones.
What an atrocious waste of time, please join the real world to make a difference.
Your suggestion was not solicited and is not welcome here.

Nobody even ever liked the movie critics, and now we have you criticizing RUclips videos.
Use real jelly babies instead. Or just real babies.
You didn’t feed it sugar again??? 😂
GREAT VIDEO - Thank you. Does the FREO X have a water tank on the bot itself for fresh water when mopping?
It fills its water tank, mops for a bit and returns to its base station for more clean water, it’s the first vac I’ve seen that you can increase the frequency of this. Its shortest cycle is every 86 feet, or you can do it by room so theoretically you could portion up a room into as many rooms as you like and have it return to wash its mop as often as you liked
Woah Nelly $2300 here in Australia
That's a bit of an exaggeration to be fair. It's only $2299.
Can it be controlled by Home Assistant?
Sorry, can you let me know what the differences between the old one compared to the new one?
man i wish the mops extended
Thanks 🙏🏼 to
Why is the lack of programming for multiple floors an issue?
It’s not like the device can climb stairs. Do people actually unplug it and move it between floors?
I always thought RoboVacs were a “one per floor” product.
Nooo, definitely a big deal in the UK. Most of us carry the robot upstairs, set it down and press go.
what about Narwal Freo, the previous model?
