It's actually Turkish coffee. Bauman would love drinking coffee, I had the chance of visiting him drinking coffee was a daily ritual for him. But he wouldn't name it as Turkish coffee but say Polish style coffee. Poland where Zygmunt was from has a old history with Turkish coffee. It actually dates back to the Siege of Vienne and at the time Polish spy captures bags of coffee from Turks.
