    Askjell has co-produced some of Aurora's songs. In the documentary "Once Aurora" he can be seen alongside Aurora in the studio when she recorded Forgotten Love.

    Askjell Solstrand is primarily an instrumental composer and producer. He’s co-written and produced a lot of Aurora’s songs. This song was originally an instrumental but Askjell always had Aurora’s vocals in mind to add to it.

    Askjell has produced many songs for Aurora's albums. Several of my favorite Aurora songs, in fact.

    Askjell has worked with Aurora on a number of her own projects, and in fact, in the Nidarosdomen concert, he's playing the keys for her. There is a fantastic live version from a concert of his, called "Askjell - To Be Loved ft. AURORA - 2021-05-31 Live at "Festspillene" - Håkonshallen, Bergen". In that one, he does do a bit of background vocals, but AFAIK, vocals are not really his thing. In fact, Aurora is not the only singer featured at that concert.

    IMO, this is one of the most under rated Aurora songs. Absolutely beautiful song! The videography is stunning!

    Hey Dillon here! Glad you enjoyed it! I understand not having the time to check out the whole concert. I will at least request a few of the most beautiful songs from that concert then that I think you would love. Plus I have some more underrated artists I will suggest soon. Keep doing what you’re doing and I will always tune in

    This song is so beautiful! I don’t understand why people don’t talk much about it

    Nice reaction Will😊
    Somehow I don’t listen to this song that often, it’s not that I don’t like it because I do like it, but maybe I don’t love it?🤔
    Askjell replied to a Reddit user wondering who wrote the lyrics:
    "to be loved is a huuuuge document on my computer with lines and ideas written over almost a year i think? we had discussed the idea of her doing vocals on one of my tracks waaay back in like 2017, so i just started collecting emotions and gradually shaped some concepts until i had a track ready that made sense to have a feature on. so most of the lyrics and melodies were already written, but i kept some of it open so she could add her touch and style to it."

    If you'd like to hear more of Askjell and Aurora in collaboration, along with the singer Iris, check out Askjell's song Sofia - ruclips.net/video/6KQeiEO5VIo/видео.html. It's very moving, and I think reveals something about what I picture in my mind as a small community of young Norwegian artists who seem to know each other and work together a lot.

    Are you doing this reaction channel for fun or for money? Just curious.

      Thank you for asking this question and not judging or jumping to conclusions! To answer your question, if I'm being honest, both. I already enjoy watching videos and discovering new artists, and it's something I was already doing so it made sense to set a camera up, film the reaction and share it with people. However, that being said, all the equipment and resources required to make the videos are not cheap, and the biggest cost is time. It costs a lot of time to setup the equipment, film the reactions, edit the videos, upload the videos, file disputes on all the copyrighted works I react to, edit thumbnails and then schedule the posts. It's quite a bit more work than just setting up a camera and filming my reaction to something, and because it takes so much time, it's something that wouldn't make sense to do, unless there was some financial incentive that justifies all the costs, time and effort that goes into making the videos. So, all that to say, yes. I am doing this to make some money, and yes I am doing it because it is fun, but if either of those things were missing from the equation it wouldn't make much sense to do it. If I weren't having fun and I were just making money, I wouldn't do it, and if I were just having fun, and not making money I probably wouldn't do it either because it does take up so much time, and it costs money to do it well and deliver high quality videos with good sound, video, lighting etc.

      So.... with the amount of options only with Aurora, I can better understand why you have chosen to continue with Aurora. The question is... is it because you have found out that there is money in the wallet with Aurora's fan base or is it because you really like her?

    • @willreacts_official
      @willreacts_official  5 месяцев назад

      @@Holgerdansk oh it's because I really like her music. There are songs of hers that I definitely have enjoyed more than others, and I often state that in the reactions. Anything that sounds borderline pop, I'm less into, but none of her songs have been full blown pop, and they all have depth and meaning, so I've enjoyed every Aurora reaction I've done. If I didn't like it, I would just move on to exploring some other artist. I also really like her fan base. Everyone is very positive, and I'm a very positive person as well, I don't like being around negative people. That stuff rubs off on you lol. I just want to enjoy cool music with kind people that also enjoy cool music.

    It's sad that money is the thing.

    • @willreacts_official
      @willreacts_official  5 месяцев назад +1

      I agree. It sucks that money comes into the equation, but unfortunately it takes a lot of resources to produce these videos at a high level (good audio, good video, good lighting, etc.), and the most costly resource of all, is time. The videos take a lot of time and energy. It's not as simple as turning a camera on, recording and uploading and it's not that I don't enjoy doing it either. I love the reaction piece, and I love interacting with the community we're building and other fans of music, but unfortunately that's only like 25% of what making these videos entails. The rest entails boring and painful stuff that reactors don't like to talk about like setting up lighting, audio and camera equipment, checking that it's all working, editing the videos and creating thumbnails. Then we have to deal with copyright claims, filing disputes so we can post the reaction, the disputes get rejected, then we have to file appeals. Then sometimes the appeal gets rejected and we can't use the video at all, or sometimes you post a video to find out that there's no audio in it even though you checked the audio equipment before filming, and you realize that a video you spent half an hour filming, and half an hour uploading, filling out the description for, and filing disputes on is unusable. It can truly be a nightmare logistically and at the end of the day it's time that could be spent with my family or on other things, so yes, I have to make it make sense to invest the amount of money, time, and energy that goes into making these videos. I wish I could dedicate hours every day toward doing this for free, but it just wouldn't make sense for me, or any other reactor on the platform. The really sad part is, even if we wanted to do it for free, YT runs ads on every video no matter what, so the video is making money whether we want it to or not. All that happens when we monetize our channels is YT gives us a very small portion of that money and they keep the rest. They are getting paid by advitisers to market ads to our audiences, and they give us a small sliver of that portion, and keep the rest because they provide the platform that allows us to build these audiences. It's all messed up but I hope this explains my perspective and position in this a little.

      @@willreacts_official Seems to me, if you want the largest amount of subscribers, which brings you most money, you oblige to their wish of reacting to a whole concert, but split it up in, let's say 4 parts.
      1 set up. 4 videos. More happy subscribers.
      It feels counter productive and plump, this way of talking finances in videos that your viewers wish to be feel good.
      Advice from a viewer. Wish you all the best!

      This is a good idea! I have split the videos up in the past, but people tend to say in the comments that they don't like it broken up as much as one full length video, but I suppose broken up into parts is better than nothing at all. I appreciate your feedback, understanding, and support!!!@@markusandergard6925
