    According to AURORA herself:
“This is a song for everything you never said.
    All we left unsaid.
All that we still feel, lingering in the air around us.
I know a lot of you know what it feels like to be in a family where everything is painful. Remain silent. And hidden.
There is nothing more painful than seeing the one you love cry but at the same time it fills my heart. Because it's the greatest feeling in the world. To open up. And be there for someone.
If only we were brave enough.
It is really when we open up that we find the purest proof of love hidden in the conflict of our minds.
“The Conflict of the Mind” is yours now. Thank you for a great video.❤❤❤

    OMG.
    That song made me cry.
Watching you listen and feel it had the same effect on me.
    And then your analyse…
    It was the ultimate kick!
You know how Aurora songs are open to interpretation.
So far, I only had feelings for them. And pieces of little unformulated ideas.
But what you said about this song opened the gates to my understanding (I didn't get the "gates" part).
And... wow.Thank you for sharing, thank you.

Aurora talked about the song in a recent interview, translated from Norwegian, and yes it is supposed to sound like an old phone line, there was also a teaser with her listening to an old landline phone: "Because it is like you only manage to say it via a phone message, or not directly."
"It's about family, and it's about all those things people can't manage to say to each other within the family.
I always imagined a family sitting around a table and eating, and then everyone is completely quiet. And there are so many things in the room that haunts them, which they do not say to each other.
And then it is also like towards the end, then the song opens up quite a bit, and then there is that honor that it is, to be there for someone you really love a lot,
and how meaningful love becomes, when you are allowed to be there for someone, that you love.
It's the worst and the best to see you cry, as i say in the song, because it is so sad that you are in pain, but it's so lovely, that you let me get to see it."

1 year ago you started with your Aurora reactions. I was there this time, quietly in the background and was delighted by your reactions and your first-time analyses. You have changed since then and your analyzes are deeper now than they were this time. You hit the spot now and if you compare your interpretation with what Aurora herself says about the song, then it is, in my opinion, a lack of communication that is the problem in many silent conflicts. I'm really glad you found your way back to Aurora. Thank you very much for a wonderful reaktion. Can hardly wait to see your analysis on her song " Your Blood" the meet and great in china is also verry interesting...

That was great thanks. 😊I also get emotional watching this. That table looks familiar, and I think it does for many. Used to be a huge music nerd, and getting up there in age I don't let much new music in anymore. Aurora is an exception. I knew she had very dedicated fans, and was curious what that was all about. Apart from her obvious talents, she's special as a person, and trying to do good with her music. Another personal favorite (one of many), is "The River", which she wrote after learning about the high male suicide rates.

Very cool reaction for this amazing Aurora's song. And the lyrics are poetic, deep, sad and hopeful (on the end) in the same time. I guess it does not need to be about divorce (but it can be connected). I think it is more about barriers, untold problems, complexity of emotions and what happens in our minds. And this crying is like opening up, showing your inside to someone. And that is why there is duality in perceiving this situation. As it is painful to see someone struggling or in pain (especially someone close), but in the same time it is positive as it was removing this barriers and there is possibility to communicate and even help etc. I like also:
"We find proof of love is hidden
In the conflict of the mind"
Like these problems, negative emotions or barriers can be so big that this existing love can be hidden and not showed.
Second verse is very poetic too.
The whole song is sad but the ending is positive, hopeful/empowering (you can overcome this situation, open up, be love even in such situation).
Ps. I also perceive this voice filter as a phone call. And I also think it symbolize distance or sporadic contacts/communication.

I clicked this so hard, I broke my finger. Thanks a lot, Rosalie. 😉
I'm so pleased to see you react to and analyze this song. I think it's an absolute masterpiece. I feel like it's too new to kind of rank it in Aurora's amazing catalog, but I think at the end of the day, it's going to be one of my favorites. I've watched/listened to this more times than I can count, and I still get emotional every time. It's a great song, but it's also so well produced to deliver the message.
Regarding the video, can we talk about Aurora's acting abilities? I feel like all the actors in this video did an excellent job, but Aurora fits right in with them. Her sad look just crushes me. You talk about that smile at the end, and I think it's a fake smile. Not in a bad acting way, but in a way that she's trying to put on a brave face, even though she is in pain. The little laugh at the end is the same way, like it's a fake laugh. I'm just in awe of her talent.

This line makes me think of someone struggling between feeling empathy for a loved one, and perhaps struggling with the feeling that their sadness might be deserved.
For example, feeling her parents deserve to be miserable for tearing the family apart, while also feeling deep hurt at seeing them upset. A sort of war between anger and compassion.

the entire What Happened to the Heart album is sickly good from production and lyrics to of course Aurora's voice. it is so experimental, full of surprises, and also sounds very personal. When this song came out a few months ago my reaction was, this is impossible. it immediately went to my number 1 position best songs ever (along with infections, through the eyes, lucky and a few other songs, all from Aurora) The conflict is my big love

@@staffankarlsson1428 it's even cooler, here is what the coproducer stated:
      >>“The Conflict of the Mind” OUT NOW. We made this one last winter in a cabin in Rosendal, Norway not long after @auroramusic & I met & made “Your Blood.” It took me 3 planes, 17 hours + a boat ride to get there, but it was all worth it when this beautiful number appeared seemingly out of thin air at about 1am our 2nd night. The vocals were recorded by candlelight & the production was finished 100% in Rosendal amidst brisk mountainside air and in total (kinda spooky) seclusion, an unforgettable experience. A cool note about the production: her arpeggiated vocals after the chorus were actually sung straight thru on four separate tracks, not sampled. So when they start to lag behind the beat at 1:39, that was natural. We followed the off-grid timing with the drums to make that moment dramatic & disorienting, which I think plays nicely off the song’s concept. FUN FACTS.

Thank you for returning back to Aurora! Again as usual, very insightful analysis. I took the clothes on the table to be a metaphor in that if the family is in the “conflict in the mind”, not looking at each other, not interacting.. they are truly not present, they are just clothes at the table. As to your other question about the lyrics “when I see you cry, I get conflicted in my mind it fills me up and tears me up at the same time…. Aurora posted this right after the release of the song.
“This is a song for everything you never said. Everything we left unspoken. Everything we still feel, lingering in the air around us.
I know many of you know how it feels to be in a family, where everything painful. Remains quiet. And hidden.

I am 5:55 in and you just blew my mind Rosalie. It was right there in the trailer for this song. The telephone. That old, matrix telephone. Aurora is calling this in. She is telling us this story by phone. She needs to talk to somebody and that somebody is me. and you, and everybody. The moment you made the word telephone I felt both elated and embarrassed. I'm not the smartest man in the world but I am certainly not the dumbest, but that totally escaped me first time listening to this song. That was a cool experience you gave me. Thank you Rosalie. It breaks my heart because i try to give her love but she dosnt want it. So my conflict in my mind is if i do the right thing for her, do i let her be or do i fight to be there. To be honest: you did a wonderful job breaking down the lyrics and its contents. Thank you very much for a well based point of view. But on the other hand, when you asked me what do I think, at the end of your reaction I was lost completely. I felt overthrown by your passionate speech. I recognise this because I often notice myself getting wrapped up in an eagerness to explain myself. The content is a truth, but your vehicle drives to fast to deliver its goods evenly. Sorry for this feedback. But I would not have done it, if your words did not touch me, like they did. Besides that, I agree on your opinion how well written this song is. Deep and powerful.
