Jaylen is still young. He's just 23 years old and the best thing about him is he wants to get better. I can easily see him being a multiple time all star and winning a few all nba teams in his career.
If Celtics didnt have 2 other all stars on the team, he would have been an all star. He’s an all star level player already because he’s a legit 2 way player
He's gonna be Pippen to Tatum's Jordan 😉 half kidding but I really like this duo of wings. Could be one of the tops in the league one day both offensively and defensively.
@@camdencapps6894 I wasn't really comparing Brown to Pippen really, Pippen is much more athletic and stronger but I think Brown can become a better shooter than Pippen
Im ILLmatic brown is underrated but I wouldn’t say he’s better than Tatum. Tatum is a better shot created and generates a lot of their shots. He’s more fit to be a first option
Thinking Basketball Have you thought about doing players from older eras? Would be really interesting to see footage/analysis about overlooked or misunderstood players from the past. Thanks for the great content!
@@bpdmf2798 actually that was bis cousin aj bouye who is a top cornerback in the nfl. And who defends the outside receiver to which you need great speed(low 4.3-4.4 40 time). And in the second race aj won by a 10th of a second. I put jaylen at a sub 4.5(4.45 to 4.50) to 4.6 which is about the speed of maybe 85% of wide recivers today excluding your unicorns who run 4.3s or lower
@@macattack8658 Yeah that was it. His cousin really didn't look like he was trying nearly as hard as him in that too. He would be average speed at wr without pads but might suffer more than usual with pads seeing his training doesn't incorporate them. He could probably be an average oversized wr but I'm glad he's dunking on fools in the NBA.

I feel like Tatum and brown are gonna be like a steph and klay. While it can be argued who's more efficient. Tatum definitely has a number 1 game. Brown plays off it beautifully. I hope this duo stays together in Boston for a long time.
Tatum and Brown gonna win multiple rings this decade. They could end up being a better duo than Kawhi/PG. Shown huge growth since losing to Lebron in the 2018 ECF. Hope they stick around.
Celtics fan here, and I'm happy with this assessment. He fits so well with the team right now. Playing next to Hayward, Tatum, Kemba, and Smart he doesn't really need to be a finished product yet. My hope is that his game grows as Kemba and Hayward age, and by the time they're declining Jaylen can take up some of that slack. Assuming he and Jayson stay together and Tatum continues on his superstar trajectory a more refined version of what Jaylen is now would be pretty ideal.
Too many content creators rush through the editing process and end up with tons of unnecessary footage. But you clearly take a lot of time to find perfect clips that match the script. Keep up the good work👍
the ability of film & analytics combination bring a great perspective to basketball that’s in needed & i do believe jaylen brown is an all star level player
This video lowkey has sparked an inspiration of jaylen’s game into my life. Hope I can take some notes and use some of his moves in my arsenal for my senior year.
I appreciate the insight on situational passing-- what he is capable of doing and what is the limit of his vision. Perhaps his energy is so scoring-focused that it leaves out capacity to see passing lanes or foresee how a play will develop. I am reminded of a Jarrett Jack-type on those pre-championship Warriors teams, a scoring guard that has limited passing vision, whereas Shaun Livingston would eventually fill that role on the Warriors better.
I totally agree when you said it takes him 'mental energy' to plan the kickout when he's more focused on newly learned dribbling moves. Once he masters those, he will show better court vision I'm sure. On the fouling trouble, I think he is still learning to play with brain rather than athleticism, the way he did all the way throughout college and the first 1.5 years in Boston. Once he figured that out, the game will slow down for him. And that's when he becomes lethal on both ends.
Love this vid! Love Jaylen Brown too, he's got that growth mindset necessary for anyone striving for success and if he gets a clean bill of health throughout his career, he'll do great things. Brad Stevens and Ainge knew what he was all about in UC Berkeley
This is very relevant now with Brown really taking a leap early in the 2020/2021 season. If Brown adds some elite level finishing, with his length, strength and speed, as well as his other offensive weapons i.e his midrange and three point shot, he will dominate.
Great overall analysis. His ability to draw fouls when attacking the hoop will never be high but he has certainly put it together to make him a threat. But I too am tantalized with everything else he can put together with his defense (one of his best traits) along with off ball movement and passing. For the price of the extension he signed he is valuable for any team looking to add a third piece who can play among ball dominant offensive players but also run offense themselves when playing amongst the 2nd unit.
Your point about his lack of speed on cuts caused me to realize that 2k on uses lateral quickness as a defensive stat when it should effect a lot of movement animations.
I hope NBA 2k21 will allow us to make a player like Jaylen Brown. We should be able to play great defense, handle the ball, shoot the 3, and attack the rim efficiently.
He reminds me of a 2012/2013 PG , has the athleticism, is long and it a very good defender with an offensive game that has developed nicely so he is able to produce from all over the court but is not top tier at anything since there are still some rough edges in his offensive game. (Court vision, handles , finishing)
A good 3rdcpiece, nothing more nothing less... Tatum and Kemba attract so much pressure and attention from defense to the point where Jaylon almost always has a mismatch.... just gotta continue to make the easy looks he gets
Kemba is overrated, he played atrocious this year, while Tatum just got hot and lucky for one month, the other months he was shooting less than 40%. If given the same opportunities that Stevens have Kemba and Tatum, Jaylen would be scoring 25 to 28 points this season.
Please do more of these with younger breakout candidates like Collin Sexton, Christian Wood etc. I love ur videos and I kinda want to destroy my fantasy league next year with sleepers

WELCOME BACK GOAT also what you’re doing with your new podcast is outstanding
Appreciate the support. More to come...
Really couldn't ask for any more. You've considered Jaylen Brown.
My takeaway: Jaylen Brown should’ve been a running back
He wouldn't make it 3 games
Nah, he ran against a top running back on video and got smoked, nevermind his height.
No way. His height would make him very vulnerable to getting the ball knocked out, and make it difficult for him to squeeze through tight holes.

Very fair analysis, good vid
This man is a treasure
We need more of these vids lol. I think some other good players for these type of videos would be domontas sabonis, buddy hiked or Jamal Murray
Jamal Murray owes to Jokic. Without him he wouldn’t look that good.

Omg I prayed that he is gonna do jaylen brown
Agree for the most part. Maybe I'd rate his offense a tick higher right now. Still, like the man said, he's only 23 and a hard worker.
This man's been a good player for 2 years now, steadily improving in every facet of the game. How is his success still a surprise to people??
Jaylen should’ve been an all star this year over Sabonis imo. He’s averaging 20 as the third option and is an elite defender
James Robert I wouldn’t say, despite the slump he’s been in the past month I’d say Kemba is still a more consistent scorer
Some say that Hayward is still waiting for Brown to pass him the ball 😂
I don't know what kind of stats you looked. But despite some blocked attempts to the rim he is a great finisher. Other then that, great video
Thank the basketball gods for analytics.
