I understand why some people thought that version 26th was firm since the v25 was extremely soft and closely to be unrunnable . But still I loved that version, evert l even if it was super slowly shows as the super lightweight NB 1080 v13 ! But I loved version 26 since it had better stability with a less soft foam and a higher guardraila to secure the foot from overpronation too much. I will probably get the Gel-Nimbus 27 since the 26th was my high cushioning shoes of the year. But on the other hand I dislike the shoes becoming even larger ... I also got a Puma MagMax, and it is so huge ... i think that my desired limit for a high stack middlesole is in the lower 40 millimeters and not 45mm plus . I also hopes it has a great grip in raining days since the 26th and the MagMax.
I'm with you on there being a limit to max cushion shoes, but it also comes down to the bulk with which these high stack shoes are built. Race shoes often have 40mm in stack, but they're so light and nimble! It'll be nice if we can find a middle ground for daily trainers!
Hey Matt! Thanks for another spot on review. 👌 I've even picked up the older Nimbus 25 as of late due to the heavily reduced price. Normally, I love fast shoes, but I added these to my rotation for easy runs. They are plush and force me to run slower which may be a good thing sometimes haha. Which Nimbus have you enjoyed the most so far? I have no real comparisons between the latest iterations. There should be a renaming after version 24, it has become a totally different shoe since then, but the latest versions 25-27 seem to be very similar overall. Thanks for pointing out these minor differences which can be overlooked easily. 👌 Have an amazing start into 2025! 🎉🍀
Hey Jan! I'm glad you got a good deal on the Nimbus 25s! With daily trainers, it seems the improvements are so incremental that it's usually best to wait for the best deal on prior models. As far as which is my favorite, to be honest I don't know; daily trainers don't strike me as very memorable and unless I have the shoes on hand to run in (like I did with the 26 and 27) it's hard to remember anything more than them being a comfortable ride. 🤷🏻♂
Just in case you don't release another video until next year, Happy New Year, Matt. 🎉 2025 promises to be a banner year for shoe releases, which means you'll be busy. 🎉
@@MyFatAdaptedLife HNY to you too, Michael! )I do have a vid scheduled on Monday!) You’re right about 2025 being an epic year for shoes! Let’s hope the rest of 2025 is as fun and (positively) eventful.
Anything that already weighs >300g on sample size is a big no for me. It is a brick! It is a recovery shoe at best. Novablast 5 or Glideride Max are better alternatives. I ran in a demo pair of Nimbus 26. I really didn't like that. I prefer 30-35mm stack for daily traainers. More foam should bring additional resonsiveness and energy return or it is just dead weight,
@@TolunayOrkun You make valid points, and yet the Nimbus continues to be wildly popular for ASICS. They’re working for a lot of people, but perhaps it’s the segment of the population that has running as a secondary use for them.
@@its_Matt_B_ I agree. Secondary uses make a big part of the market. These would be great as a walking shoe and for those that are on their feet all day (pharmacists, nurses, doctors, restaurant workers etc.)
Hate to be so shallow but I find the look of this shoe cartoonish ? Just weirdly out of proportion, with so much midsole maybe making it look like a kids shoe ?

Would you mind comparing the Nimbus 27 with the Nimbus 25 ?
Thank you ☺
@@iCuteJP Sorry. I don’t have the Nimbus 25 anymore and can’t remember what a shoe I ran in 2 years ago felt like in comparison to this. 😬

I agree with you that daily trainers are now cushioned enough and comfy enough for a long run and light enough for speed work. Very good

I don't think it's shallow at all! Companies spend loads of $$$ to make their shoes appealing to the eye!
