i don't understand why Far Cry 2 is criminally underrated. It has a lot of unique mechanisms in the game such as degrading of any guns in later use, the malaria time limit system, and self-recovering injuries. this was WAAAAAAAAAY more realism at the time before escape from tarkov or even PUBG. This music piece alone is wonderfully crafted and memorable enough that most players likely to replay the entire game again
This game has the vibe of the 90's atrocities that took place for real in Africa. Only kids from the 90's could grasp the story of the game, where all around in the world you could hear on the radio station or tv about african insane wars, genocide, etc. The 90's were beautiful years, but very fucked up for some parts of the Planet. Hard to explain this paradox.
Thinking back on this game... I haven't realized how much the overall vibe of the game has changed. Far Cry 2 was absolutely brutal. It didn't hide the fact that y/c was in a war torn region of Africa, and death was at every corner. The humor was practically non-existent. It's not to say the last four games weren't good. Not at all. They were fantastic games, and I had fun playing them. But it definitely sets a night and day difference. In one game, you had to worry about your gun not jamming up on you. You had to put your own mind at peace knowing you have medicine for your malaria. And... the others, you were endowed with weapons that were so powerful, they might have even been a bit silly. A shovel launcher, or CD shooter. You also didn't have to worry about saving your buddy from death either, or risk losing them forever.
While I was playing this game, I literally felt the loneliness the game character was facing! This is not just a game, it's an emotion!! Also this song!!!! A piece of diamond!!!
This Far Cry 2 Game is the best of all among even the latest of the series. This is a loop where a hero is fighting over and over and the isolation is beautiful and deadly too.

I used to play this game 10 years ago when I was 4 or 5 years old the nostalgia is real I still play it to this day i wish we go back to the old days I miss it a lot of having fun
i don't understand why Far Cry 2 is criminally underrated.
I reinstalled and play it still nowdays in Win 10. Have also Far Cry 1,3,4 etc...BUT THIS...THIS IS UNTOUCHABLE!
UBISOFT make memories more than just games.....THEME SONG 👍👍
This game story is coming very soon on my channel brother in hindi
used to make.
Reality level in this 2008 master piece still baffles players out there
This game has the vibe of the 90's atrocities that took place for real in Africa. Only kids from the 90's could grasp the story of the game, where all around in the world you could hear on the radio station or tv about african insane wars, genocide, etc. The 90's were beautiful years, but very fucked up for some parts of the Planet. Hard to explain this paradox.
well in contrast nowdays everything's fucked up
@@nickdedrade Yeah, the World has gone crazy.
well I'm a 2000s kid and I completely understood the mood and story of the game.
@@Red0Wn if u are deep expert gamer, all good games can be receptable. except u are a weeabo guy or fornite kids
@@navykaze6660 Well it may have helped that at the time I was playing the game I was actually living in a war torn country
Every feel can be quite lonely with this iconic FARCRY 2 song.
I feel like far cry 2 is the first true far cry game, 1 was a tech demo by crytek
I love this game with all my heart
For me the best Far Cry game yet. The atmosphere was so awesome, the music, the map... All of it.
Farcry 2 for me is the best and only farcry that impressed me
The first Farcry game i played and damn...
good times
This game really stood up to It's name. It't a far cry. Nobody, in the middle of nowhere fighting for nothing, yet you feel important and you cried.
While I was playing this game, I literally felt the loneliness the game character was facing! This is not just a game, it's an emotion!! Also this song!!!! A piece of diamond!!!
Man I still remember playing this game on my ps3
Such an addictive game and very nice story
You know this song kicks in when you throw a molotov in a open field and see everything burn..
Come back Far Cry !
African vocals are special. Remembers me of the begining of the movie Tears of the Sun with those vocals I believe are from Lebo M.
Love this game. One of my favorite FPS games of all time. The atmosphere was really dark and immersive unlike Far Cry 6 "war is fun wooooooo"
Amazing track to this day. Farcry 2 still hits too!
This soundtrack sounds like.. my childhood
Did you live in Africa when you were a child? If you were, damn I kinda respect that but you probably didn't
@@TheONLYFeli0 I mean the soundtrack sounds like my childhood because I played this back in the day.
I edited to clarify.
Some Forest areas are similar to the countryside where I traveled in Amazon. Also the housed, sand narrow roads and wooden Bridges.
"War is my home."
This Far Cry 2 Game is the best of all among even the latest of the series. This is a loop where a hero is fighting over and over and the isolation is beautiful and deadly too.
This track especially the end gives a feel of tragedy and an "everyone loses/dies"
*In my heart.. i still love you!*
1:12
I remember the desperation at every gunfight, praying that your guns wouldn't jam and you wouldn't get ambushed
The song and the game embodied my continent where I live in Africa.
This is the kind of song you would expect to hear about one game publisher publishing games nobody cares about, in a corner of the world nobody's heard of, between two major digital distribution services nobody believes in.
😂😂
Almost every far cry soundtrack is awesome
I'm imagining a Far Cry 2 remake Trailer (a real remake, not a remaster) with this music in the background and it gives me chills.
Bro, this game, i just love it, I WANT A REMAKE, FROM SCRATCH! WITH THE SAME THEME AND FEEL
Kinda like how they did with the original Mafia. That would be sick.
a remake? Why?
Best FC2 soundtrack and games
When i've played it on Steam back in 2019, i gived up because it bored me after 20 hours plus performance issues. But when i wanted to give him another change of by buying it this time on Xbox 360 playing on my Xbox One X, i loved much more and ended loving it to the end. It's now one of my favorite FPS i've played and experienced.
Best far cry song. And best fc character Jackal.
song goes hard
So many good memories and definitely the best time of my life.
damn really goodtimes.
YEs me too
Hahaha sucker!! I didn't start playing it till 2020
@@Minnesota_Central lucky you 😔
@@11hadram11 yes very! Still playing it and my god haven't had this much fun since the first time I played Wolfenstein and Doom!!
@@11hadram11 every day after work I just get so excited to hop back on FC2. As soon as I'm done I'm buying FC3 and playing that next. Its really a timeless classic. Anyone who thinks FarCry2 is bad really hasn't given it any chance.
So much memories 😢
best war song ever❤
So many references to Apocalypse Now and Heart of Darkness.
AN like you know was based in HoD who was in africa like this game, of course it must content any reference
I see references to Blood Diamond in my opinion
and the blood diamond conflict from sierra leona, such a powerful game
Most realistic far cry
Ubisoft, it’s not too late to go back to making good games. Far cry 2 is the dark souls of FPS genre, and I hope you guys can capture this once more.
It's too late as long as management remains the same
It’s not gonna happen unfortunately. There’s gonna be the press and a bunch of some other useless things happening. At least we have this game
If they had worked on this game as long as they should have, people would still be studying it to this day.
this game is simply a masterpiece
I still reinstall and play this game at least once a year or so. The ambient noises among the jungle and desert is insane. Many times I think it should be called "Far Drive 2", the gameplay is slow and methodical, designed to get you to appreciate the visuals of this still stunning game.
