"Taking photos with a smartphone is like Nespresso. It's ok, looks like espresso and has caffeine"... This is probably the most accurate statement I have ever heard 😎
I love Saul Leiter. “Early Color” is an expensive book to purchase. I don’t know about the cost of the other books you cite. Of course, you can view these books online for free. There are several how to RUclips videos for those that want to try street photography. Mask On Nurse Marty (Ret)
You can do street photography with any camera or lens. Small and lightweight are attributes many value. You are less obtrusive and even lightweight cameras get heavy after carrying them for hours on end. Lenses? Traditionally longer lenses are preferred. 28-35-50mm are most common. Some use 24 or even 21mm. Some use 85mm. Try each (as in a zoom lens) and see what you like. There is no right focal lengths. There are only focal lengths you like and don’t like. B&W or color? Do both. Set your camera to B&W jpeg with raw. Your camera will show you B&W in the EVF or LCd. The raw will be color. You choose what you like. Have fun with street photography. Hi Martin! Thanks for your feedback. Here in Germany, "Early Color" is around 38 Euro, I don´t know about other countries...
What you think about nikod5300?
Hi Dorota! Looks good, but in combination with a 28 or 35mm lens maybe a bit too big for street Photography...but i don't know the camera specifically
