Vinny's experience mirrored mine exactly for the first three games. Game 1: Vague amusement, enjoying it more than I should Game 2: "What happens if I just drop them all in the middle and don't do anything?" Game 3: **fruit randomly launches out of the bin and causes failure really early on** "BULLSHIT!"
Not gonna lie, I thought this game was going to be one of those metanarrative horror games where the wife of the creator died and now is haunting his unfinished innocent-looking game. I'm surprised that is not the case.
I was also expecting something like that, specifically because of the season. When a game is this aggressively cutesy and innocent, I don't automatically assume it has a dark twist like some people do. There's plenty of games that are just what they appear to be on the surface. Slime Rancher, for instance. However, because this showed up completely out of nowhere, during the Halloween season, and even seemed to be going a bit viral, _that_ is what made me assume it had some dark secret.
Ah, it's one of those "Watching the decisions Vinny makes is infuriating, and I'm definitely going to have to play this myself afterwards, only to realize that I'm no better at it" kind of games.
Saw Japanese streamers of all variety playing this, then of course Vtubers picked it up, and now I see Vinny playing this. It's poetic (and gone viral)

Maybe I’m just thinking of “Suika Combination” (a variant with touhou characters instead of fruit, culminating in Suika, which I’ve played move of than “Suika Game”), but I’m pretty sure I’ve seen the items overlap a fair bit (though not quite that much)
Its because the game triggered all 3 oranges to fuse but one couldn't because it wasn't supposed to and the others fused first so it stuck to the bigger fruit.
Vinny is absolutely right about the Halloween track for this game driving you insane. I had this playing in the background while doing boring petrochem stuff in Factorio, not really paying too much attention to the stream, and the song just... passively embedded itself permanently into my subconscious. I didn't even notice until I realized I was quietly humming along to it. I swear to god, I'm going to be hearing it in my dreams. That little accordion tune is going to be engraved into my brain forever.

Good thing Blinky got the game when he did, the interface was entirely in Japanese before the Halloween update and I can't imagine Vingus having a good time trying to decipher what to do or how to play/replay the game.

the crazy thing about this game is that its another "Among Us effect", though it more than likely wont have the staying power for 3 years as well. to explain, this game came out 2 years ago on Switch...like for real its been out on the JP eShop for 2 whole years before being really noticed and then it EXPLODED in popularity. just like what happened with Among Us. though Covid going around probably helped in some specific way. like were a ton of people suddenly looking for more multiplayer games to play during that time? idk, but it is what it is.

I got the browser version to crash by dropping a third dekopon onto two that were already merging. The game could not handle 3 merging at the same time.
Every time I see someone playing this game for the first time it's fun to watch them understand the tactics and metas on their own, at their own pace, with each game. Also, Vinny best vtuber confirmed.
