They are great. I bought 4 short XLRs for the back of my studio rig and immediately upon taking them out of the bag, I could tell they are killer. Just as good as actual Mogami at half the price. And you can get them in quad-conductor twisted pair mic wiring for better RF rejection. These are 'the good stuff' at half the price.

I bought one compared it to my real Mogami golds and they are exact. And compared the audio quality it is exactly the same. So I replaced all my cables including my monitor cables . My xlr's my 1/4 " cables and I love them. And all the different lengths and connection combinations I wanted were all available and I got them in like 27 hours with prime. Couldn't be happier with them.

You can get these made up for you at many audio companies for about 1/2 the price that you would pay for a "retail" Mogami cable, so their prices are pretty much in line with what other cable makers charge. Same cable, Same connectors less money.

Man, you could have disassembled the connectors in order to see soldering, clamping etc... The other and maybe most important feature of a xlr cable is how it is shielded against EMF and RFI. But after the cable is Mogami 2534, i think it is good.

I'd be willing to bet someone figured they could do this all day profitably enough to keep doing it.

Hey, TDCatTech. Thanks for sharing your thoughts and information. We do need to be aware of what we are dealing with. Like you, I do concern when you can't find information about a specific product, name and manufacturers. Most of all with some items that cost in my opinion a ridiculous amount. And you find the more cost effective product can sometimes do the job as good or good enough.

I needed a pair of RCA interconnects to run from my Rogue RP5 to the PS Audio M700 monoblocks.I recently moved things around and the power amps ended up closer to my Panasonic Plasma Tv and I could tell I was getting some noise from the plasma panel.
i paid $38 for the 10ft set of star quad Qotham microphone wire with Neutrik Rean RCA connectors, they are well built using known quality wire and connectors, They included an instruction sheet with any information you might need and instructions on what to do if your not happy with them after the suggested burn in time. . These have the shield connected on one end, you want that grounded end at the signal end of the chain. i replaced the old cables and any interference was gone and i had very clean sound, enough so i spent several hours listening to CD's and streamed music. i don't think you can do better for the price and don't know if the fancy cables are enough better to warrant the increased price.
All in all I'm happy with them and think they are a steal at this price, you would be hard pressed to buy the materials and assemble them yourself.

Are the Neglex line of Mogami cables the ones that have a tradeoff - much higher RF interference resistance at the expense of slightly muffled high frequency response? (I heard that about the Neglex Quads) .. Just starting to do some research as I plan to upgrade all my cables for the first time. RF isn't an issue in my domestic situation, so I'm aiming for the most revealing/high quality audio I can get -- but that will still block small amount of RF from computers and other consumer gear.

From my experience cheap cables are more likely to have defects like slightly wrong size termination ends or not properly soldered causing loud hum or buzzing noise. As long as there are no obvious defects, it’s all clear and you have a good cable. It’s also easy to return cables on Amazon if there is an issue so it’s worth the purchase

  • @michaelwright1602

I posted awhile ago here... I recently purchased the WBC Mogami speaker wire, their Mogami W3082 wire with Eminence Gold banana plugs, a ten foot pair for roughly $90. This cable/wire, is actually coaxial cable, not your standard oxygen free copper. All I can say, is that these speaker cables are the real deal, the soundstage opened up and the bass... I had to physically turn down the bass in my system after installing these cables. I have the KLH Model 5's with a pair of SVS SB3000 subs. I had everything dialed in with the 10 AWG OFC speaker cables. But, after replacing the OFC with these Coaxial Wires, I had to turn the subs back a good 4 to 5 db to get everything back in synch. Something real happened here, turning down my system is not in my head.

Perhaps you could compare them to the Blue Jeans Canare L-4E6S Balanced Audio Cables sometime. The Blue Jeans are more expensive but I’ve read on some forums that they punch above their weight. I have WBC XLR s on my front speakers and decided to order some Blue Jeans just to compare. The issue I’m having is that my processor through XLR cables to my monoblocks does not sound as revealing as a different preamp connected by RCA interconnects to the same amps. I can flip a switch on the amp to compare. So, I’m thinking about returning the processor but just thought I better try new cables first. So, we’ll see.

2:30 They use reputable parts in the cables and that makes them perfectly legitimate in my book. Of course this does not mean to say that anyone could not set up a company, order the parts they think suit their purpose and have them assembled at the cheapest place possible that meets their criteria, then have them shipped to wherever they wish to market them. A ton of companies are set up this way every day. No-one knows how many will make it in the long run. This is a problem for consumers who need to be able to trust they can return to the same company and obtain the same level of quality of service or products they got the first time around. The problem is, consumers were once used to think that way or grew up to think that way but this is no longer part of today's reality. On the other hand, you have the trusted brands of yesteryear which, if they still are the same company and not just a name that anyone can buy, usually come with a price tag. So it is a matter of choice in the end.
