Its honestly not even my music, it's my friends and he doesn't even know I'm trying to do this for him. Bro is just going through one hell of a rough patch and kinda backed off on his music for multiple reasons. But I feel like I'm starting to see him give up a little and to be honest its breaking my heart. Thank you for posting this, I dont know if anything will come of it but I seriously hope so. He's extremely talented yet underrated(I know everyone says this but seriously). I just dont want him to give up on one of the few things that make him happy. Thank you again for making this. Peace to all✌🙏
You’re an awesome friend, my God 🖤🎱
@@KYD.888 😅😅thank you, he's a brother to me tbh so you already know I care alot about this dude. But no matter who it is if I see someone with a passion or something they really care about I try to encourage the hell out of em to pursue it. I just genuinely dont like seeing someone give up on what makes them happy. It's one of the few treasures we have in life and it's so easy to give it up, just to look back and regret losing it. Never give up, enjoy every moment you can. Peace🙏✌
Tell your friend that he should watch all of the burstimo videos. If his music is awesome (as you said) and the marketing is also in it's place he will succeed. So tell him that he shouldn't loose his motivation, he has the opportunity to grow!
oi drop his spotify/soundcloud! let's go show him some support!
Wish I had friends like you.
Great advice. Thanks a lot for this info. Very helpful when trying to get played on the radio.
Thank you! I hope it helps you get some radio play
@@Burstimo how about if you want to promote artist song?

Thanks For The Incredible Advice! Looking Forward To Using What You Said.
Great info. I will be sending my latest industrial rock track out ASAP
Information is crazy! Thank you so much this is awesome!
Thank you for this video, it was very informational :)
I wish my music was on the radio but I can honestly only think of one or two that are good enough to be at the moment... a few more songs are planned though and they might be good enough...
this is amazing advise thanks , its very helpful
Good work. Nice and concise, easy to follow.
Excellent! Your advice is the best!
Very helpful! Thank you!
Thank you for your videos!
the best idea for radio thanks a lot
Helpful video but there are two mistakes here: 1) you can preview tracks in dropbox before downloading, and actually at a much higher quality than you can on SoundCloud & 2) you can download enable private Soundcloud links too, so no need to have two separate links!
thank you for your advice very helpful
Thanks very helpful advice
Very helpful! Thanks
Great vid! Liked and subscribed. I’m curious, is BBC and amazing radio only for specific areas? I’m in the U.S
Yeah gonna be a massive rock star with your advice
Very useful thank you 🙏🏾

Hey! Thanks for the video, I’ve found these super helpful. I wondered if you could show me an example email you’ve sent to a radio station/ producer? I’ve written press releases for blogs before, but my understanding is that the aim there is to create something that they can basically lift and paste straight into an article if they want to, so I assume this is slightly different?
This is really good advice i tried this last month and i got some radio station to promote my song even though im not much growing of my fanbase.they offer the free music promotion. All you have you have to do is to send your song in proper etc.
Thanks for your vey informative video, I have a small question - do 'BBC Introducing' accept new songs from outside of UK? I ask as I live in Ireland! Thanks
Hey there, great video, so hard to find tips on getting radio plays. I've one question: do i get it right that in the FIRST e-mail i should put the soundcloud link (so they can easily listen to it) and right add the download link, in case they wanna play it? What if it's yet unreleased though? Can I go with the private link in the first mail and send the live link later after release? Thank you! Laura
Just got some new resources form u. Your awsome
Big love ♥️
Loved the video Maddy! I'm an artist from India, and I was wondering if I could submit my songs to the above mentioned radio stations... Cause the radio here rarely plays indie music. So just confused about this... Once again thank you so much for the video! ❤️
Places like BBC Intro only focus on UK artists but Amazing Radio is for everyone!
God I'm stressed out
same dude
Try to have fun and realize there no time constraint
amen
I feel your pain. This promotion thing is not easy
Tell me about it, promoting is the hardest part
Hey great information however is this information still applicable today for 2021 ? If there's any new impressions please share . Thanks
Great video! In your video you said you can add a wetransfer link so the producer can download it if he wants to play it. But How do you get streams when your song is playing on the radio?
Thank you
Great information here!!! Though should I contact the radio or a specific person at the radio? Basically where can I find the emails to pitch to?
🙏💯🍀 thank you
You're welcome Nicky!

What about if youre from other country but want to promote korean musuc to US is that possible
ruclips.net/video/uxmP4b2a0uY/видео.html
But should we send the download link before release day? What if the radio plays it before release day?
So at the last part you’re saying to find the people who work at those respective radio stations we want spins on and contact them through LinkedIn and social sites like those?
Do you have a list of radio stations that would be good to contact?
These tips are very informing and helpful but its kind of region locked
Like how it speaks about the nice variety of BBC's stations and programs but i dont know if it could apply to my band which is from Iceland
and furthermore since our music is sung in English i dont know where exactly to apply for offshore play. Would you guys happen to know any tips that could apply to this scenario
Thank you
Thank you, we're glad you found the video informative.
Although the BBC is mainly for UK artists, you can still use the tips such as starting with lower level and regional radio, focusing on online radio and also uploading to stations such as Amazing Radio.
If your music is sung in English, you may find you can market your songs to UK radio, so give it a go and see what the feedback is.
There is no harm in trying!
A lot of local colleges and universities have their own student-run radio stations. It's definitely worth reaching out to any smaller scale stations in your area and beyond.
Scary to think that the BBC axed Radio 6 ten years ago but were forced to bring it back after a howl of public protest!
Thanks Maddy, I'm still unsure about sending download link to radio, does that mean radio can play it BEFORE its released, and it doesn't interfere with the distributor process. 🤔
Do you have to use Soundcloud to share your music with Radio Stations? Is there a way for Radio Stations to listen to your song online without a fee? Will they get charged if they listen to your song on RUclips when linked to a distributor?
As I understand commercial radios stations do not pay you for playing your music, but Sirius XM does. Do you have any advice about getting on their station? 5:36
Hi, great info. I have read somewhere that radios should be pitched BEFORE the release, correct? How long before? And is it still possible (useful) to pitch them after the release? Thank you
Yes! A few weeks prior to release if possible
hi great viedo! i was wondering if you could let me know how to find an email to a radio station
Share what file to send for download and the information to be in the file!
Do you know if any bbc radio stations play U.S. artists
Do you upload your live versions of your songs to your distributor if they are played on the radio/ public radio?
I would think it is somewhat easier to get your music on public radio then on commercial stations and have you thought about Sirius radio where they pay Artist when the music is played? 5:36
wouldnt u put the soundcloud link avialable for download?
If you're happy for anyone to be able to download it
Yess
How do you do a metadata tag ?
Great video, but I’m assuming it’s more targeted to UK artist?
Would a Spotify link be good to send if you have it?
Best not as they would need to go to a separate platform and some don't have Spotify downloaded
Is it normal for stations to ask for money for them to play your song? They're saying to get played on the station I should pay $30-60 USD and I'm wondering if it's standard practice or a scam.
To upload a track on radio should it already be distributed or under process or even before that!!?
It should be in the lead up to release day secure a portfolio of plays on lower level stations and increase the hype. This means that when the track is out, you have the chance to potentially get national air play
Probably should have mentioned that BBC Introducing is only for UK musicians only
Yo I just released a music video today called live at five can I get this on the radio from RUclips please reply
Hey please help ! I have a song being released on November 15th but I want to try to get radio play for it, it’s a for sure hit ! My only problem is it’s explicit. when you said radio friendly I felt let down, would the radio station still accept an explicit song?
Majority of the larger ones won't but it depends on the station and the show
Make a clean version
Hi. I'm from South Africa. Am I allowed to submit my music to radio stations in Britain?
Yes
@gid how about korean music to britain is that possible?
ruclips.net/video/uxmP4b2a0uY/видео.html
You need money to get it on radio or tv in my country
Thanks for your ideas. I live in Canada and have some of my music on Reverbnation. Do
you think Revernation is a good way to get my music noticed ?
tik tok
Maybe not if it just sits there. Nobody will discover anything that is not promoted.
No. It’s a terrible platform. As a music director, I basically see it as a site for everyone that can’t make music that wants to make music. 99% of the music is poorly produced, you need to be found... find a music promoter and pay for a proper service.
Thanks. Can you suggest the name of a good music promoter?
@@fredcovey7858 how about if youre from other country but one to promote other artist

When do I pitch? 2 weeks before the release? 1? On the day of the release?
a few weeks prior
DONE.
I have been searching for similar artists for 3 weeks and i have no clue. Ive asked ppl but they compare one artist to one track but not my over all sound. I need help. This is a struggle and no one is understanding what I mean. please help. I am a female artist and no female sound like me.
That Rapper kyngsolo do you wanna collab?
For something like amazing radio is it a bad thing to submit more than 1 track at a time? I.e. a track out currently and then again as a separate submission a track to be released soon?
No, go for it!
@@Burstimo All right! Cheers.
What if there are practically no smaller artists that sound like someone? What if their influences don't line up with what their peers are inspired by and thus they don't really have a comparable sound, even if theoretically in the same genre.
Introduce yourself and what done in the past what doing currently who produced the track
Exemplary advice.
BBC introducing says you must be a Uk resident... so what about us who arnt I’m the uk?
Try Amazing Tunes :)
@@Burstimo thank you!!
Soundcloud doesn't pay you though.... Why do that?

Regional radio
I started station on SoundCloud and I got 121 view
The best thing is to ask what format do they require, some wants mp3 , some wants spotify ,some wants a CD , best to ask first, unless they have stated what format the accept.
You lost me within the first 10 seconds haha as all my music is disgusting lol
Dropbox
If the hood likes your music you by pass this. Radio will fuck with majority. Majority rules!
You gotta pay. No other way. A nationwide hit in the US will cost around $2million to get the required airplay.
What about kanye west Jesus Walk
Amazing tunes charge 30 euro for 8 uploads.
This video was made in 2018 so I'm gonna assume that this charge nonsense is a recent enough development.
damn that sucks
@@cilia3779 A tad bit frustrating, yes
@@cilia3779 But sure, everything is money
RUclips is probably better than Soundcloud cuz it requires the app on mobile.
RUclips can be good for the visual things but it'd be better to use SoundCloud for private streaming as it also plays when you don't have the app open, which people find useful when on the go.
Also, most people you pitch to e.g. producers and journalists, won't be on a phone so SoundCloud is the easiest streaming method
lots of great information, but it you speak too fast
No political message... I'm out haha
Real musicians will do their own thing and avoid this conformist patronising crap
I don't think its that easy ma lady.almost not quite. How about telling artist that they have to sell their soul to devil or have a quarter million dollars would be more realistic to pay radio programmers
Very helpful! Thank you very much!
