5:13 the Sten from World at War is actually in the Black Ops 1 single player mission Project Nova. There were two other weapons cut aside from the British guns, both were weapons left over from CoD 2: the PPS-43 and the M3 Grease Gun. The PPS-43 was an cheaper alternative to the PPSh-41. Made during the Siege of Leningrad, PPS-43s were popular firearms for being cheaper, lighter, and more compact than the PPSh-41; although the PPS-43 would be short lived. The Grease Gun, on the other hand, saw a lengthy service history with the USA. Made to be a cheaper replacement for the Thompson, the Grease Gun was substantially lighter, more controllable, more compact, and a significantly cheaper gun than even the simplified WWII Thompsons. They would even be used into the 1990s Gulf War to help arm Bradley APC crews.
The M1000 could also be considered a "cut" weapon from zombies. It's the upgraded M1 Garand without the rifle grenades, and like the Snuff Box, it is completely functional but there is no way to obtain it in game without console commands
The PS2 spin off seems to lift a lot from the earlier development versions of the main game including cut characters like "King" , "Anderson" , "Maddock" and "Sharpe"
Really good video regarding COD’s cut content and hoping we get more of these in the future, especially with COD Zombies with its cut content on the Black Ops series. But, there’s one more cut content you definitely missed out in this video: WAW was originally supposed to have a 4th DLC Map Pack that was going to be a Zombies DLC pack, consisting of three maps being Theater, Coast, and Paris. This WAW DLC 4 was cancelled because Treyarch needed to work on Black Ops 1 and the DLC 4 was too close in-line to MW2’s release date. This supports it became of the Der Riese boards showing pics of Zombies in those three maps, with Theater being Kino Der Toten as the launch map in BO1, Coast being Call of the Dead in the Escalation DLC 2, and Paris would eventually become Moon because Treyarch wanted to go out with a bang. Now as for why Paris was turned into Moon, given the code name is ZM_Paris, Jason Blundell many moons ago explained on the Paris map concept: “Paris had the idea of a No Man's Land and it had the Eiffel Tower and underneath there was a teleporter and then there were the catacombs underneath there, and the idea was that you went into the teleporter and the Eiffel Tower was essentially a conduit for the power for it and then you got transported to this middle of nowhere where the Pack-A-Punch was and it was just Zombies coming at you, there was no cover." The Pap area idea of Zombies coming after you with no cover was used for No Man’s Land, the catacombs are actually the tunnels 6 & 11 (with the labs ofc), and the Eiffel Tower would’ve been under the Biodome.
Oh my, I've only now realised how the nationalities of each zombies player character matches the nationalities of the armies featured in the rest of the game...
One thing similar to the stuff hidden underneath Verrückt is that there's actually also items hidden underneath other maps such as Nacht der Untoten. Something I found there once, which I found out nobody had mentioned online before, is a rusty & damaged helmet model.
its a shame they cut the dutch levels 1945 Hunger winter seems like a great setting for world at war to cover....and if not that operation market garden or Hells highway the fighting in my country was small scale but Fierce as all hell.....would have loved to have seen it.
That car model and female model brings back so many memories of infection mod menus for multiplayer on Xbox. Those were really terrible yet kinda neat times
The final couple of campaign missions left a dark, gritty, impression on me concerning the game’s atmosphere, and how it was based on something that actually happened. Whenever I think of Call of Duty: World at War, my mind trails back to the faint distant-sounding Königgrätzer Marsch followed by Hitler’s(?) radio broadcast urging his troops to continue fighting heard by the end of ‘Heart of the Reich’ mission. The progressing transition from fighting against Wehrmacht to SS to bandaged SS guards really placed things into perspective; suicidal death by fighting in honor of sworn eternal ideological allegiance to evil. Exposed plans to surrender were branded as cowardice and meant death on their own side, attempts of surrender likely meant death depending on who the nazi defenders tried approaching during such act, and all survivable last-ditch escape routes were virtually cut off to most nazis by the final moments of the war. So, it was either taking their own lives, or to just go down fighting. The developers went hard with capturing a certain feel with that campaign, and I’ve always imagined and wondered if they held anything back from the final product regarding the two missions, Heart of the Reich and Downfall, in particular. The fact that you exposed official unused skins of the Volksturm militia provided an answer I’ve probably wanted to know for years. I guess the next step after implementing militia skins would’ve been including Hitler Youths, civilians, and making the player witness acts of mass rape, murder, executions, and suicides of non-combatants. If those skins were in, it’d reinforce Reznov’s point in his monologue before the mission ‘Eviction’ mentioning “The old. The young. The weak.”
12:40 WTF??? It's an S14! Well, looks a bit more like the S14a, the "Kouki". I remember seeing a hacker using one as their playermodel when playing zombies about 14 years ago
While the Basic training map appears to actually have left over sounds from COD 4 the map itself appears to be very similar if not exactly the one in the PS2 version of the COD: WAW. While I cannot confirm I am pretty sure "Holland" and the British missions are also in the PS2 version as they are two drastically different games
It would have been nice if the Regio Esercito and the Commonwealth were in multiplayer, with their respective weapons: Lee Enfield, Carcano, Sten, Beretta, Webley MKIV, M1936 Pistol, Bren LMG, M30 LMG, Johnson Rifle, Breda PG, Lewis Machine Gun and MG18
Your consistency and dedication to your videos is something I want to say thank you for, it is so fulfilling to support creators like you and watch them grow and with that said I wish you success in your creative journey :)
I have always been intrigued by the 4th killstreak and how that would've looked in gameplay, especially since it's different for each nationality. Part of me thinks that the kamikaze streak would've been controllable like a predator missile.
The Nightfire minimap icon is the same as the Nightfire DLC map layout, so I assume that map was bought back for DLC later in development. The default vehicle is something I've been really curious about ever since it was first found in COD2 - I'd love if someone could find more info about it as it's a really weird placeholder, and the model seems too detailed to be something quick and easy to test veh movement. The model itself is based off the S14 Silvia/200sx/240sx which has always made me wonder if Treyarch were ever planning on making some sort of racing game, and had the model laying around somewhere. Treyarch did plan on making a Zombie driving game back in the early 2000s called "Dead Rush", which made me wonder if it was leftover from that, but it just seems a bit out of place when looking at old trailers for it etc. I don't play much modern COD, but the default vehicle has been in the game files of a lot of CODs since WAW, the latest one I know of is in Vanguard (EDIT: There's also a reddit post of it being found on MW2022), and can even be found outside of some of the multiplayer maps (non driveable ofc). Maybe one day I'll dig deeper into it 😄
7:47 that’s an odd choice. All the other factions have something unique that was something they actually fielded irl that no one else did. But Germany gets a generic carpet bomber. Couldn’t even be bothered to call it a bf109. Guess that was a place holder because it would’ve made much more sense for it to be a v1 or v2
- One of my favourite little bits of info was Der Riese being based off Nightfire from MP. I loved going into a private game to see all the spots from Der Riese. - There was on old easter egg, perhaps a myth, back in the day where some people said there were ghosts and spooky noises on the Nightfire map. I swear if you loaded that map in a private game and sat there, you could hear some seriously creepy noises. - Squashed AK is a classic - I remember hearing about ammomatic and got annoyed that it wasn't in, especially after dying with 0 ammo on round 34.
2:10 Considering that the first map is an _Essex_-class carrier and the second is aboard an _Admiral Kuznetsov_-class carrier (implied to be the Type 001 _Liaoning)_ from nearly sixty years later, I truly doubt it. The designs are not similar at all, and it doesn’t look like the WaW carrier map got very far in development.
It would be nice if you did an episode about Crash of the Titans, because I think it would be the first time someone has done that and its so underrated. Episodes about the original Star Wars battlefronts and the Destroy all humans games would also be interesting.

My interest in Call of Duty games is primarily the Treyarch ones due to zombies so I am hoping to see Black Ops next and beyond. One thing that comes to mind with that game is how on Moon, there are two versions of the player voice lines. Regular ones and ones with the space helmet on. Firstly, I didn't expect this. I thought they would just apply filters to the audio in real time rather than exporting the voice lines with the filter applied. Secondly, even the voice lines where the player is reacting/choking to the lack of oxygen has a helmet on version despite this not making any sense. I guess before shipping the DLC, they used a script which ran through every single voice line. Or maybe they really did manually export each without questioning the logic. I'm sure this would've been a different story had Moon been on the disc where they needed to be more conscious of capacity.

Living Battlefield, as well as a test shooting range map, are left in the PS3 version of the game and can be loaded with hacks!
