I can close my eyes, and just let her voice take me places. It’s a fact, that I’ll never get to experience another artist like Whitney Houston in this lifetime 💔
"I'm Every Woman" is the debut solo single by American singer Chaka Khan from her debut solo studio album Chaka (1978). It was Khan's first hit outside her recordings with the funk band Rufus. "I'm Every Woman" was produced by Arif Mardin and written by the successful songwriting team Nickolas Ashford and Valerie Simpson. The single established Chaka's career outside the group Rufus, whom she would leave after their eighth studio album Masterjam was released in late 1979. The track was remixed and re-released in 1989 for Khan's remix album Life Is a Dance: The Remix Project; this mix reached number 8 in the United Kingdom. American singer Whitney Houston would later cover the song in 1992 with production by David Cole and Robert Clivillés and vocals produced by Narada Michael Walden, turning it into a dance hit for a new generation. Whitney Houston recorded "I'm Every Woman" for The Bodyguard soundtrack. Houston's version was produced by Narada Michael Walden, with additional production by David Cole and Robert Clivillés. It was released as Houston's second single from the soundtrack in January 1993. Her version adds the introduction "Whatever you want, whatever you need..." where Houston contributed to the song. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/I%27m_Every_Woman
Many many props to Ms. Chaka for the original. But this is my favorite version. Whitney's voice was heavenly here. This video is definitely one of her best.
@@diorrboyyyy Please have several seats. Chaka was only 25 when she recorded IEW Whitney was 29 and Chaka sounds like an older more ( fully grown woman) powerful singer at that point than Whitney had ever sounded. Whitney was so amazed by Chaka vocals that her friend Robin said Whitney would play Chaka's songs daily. There are things Chaka did that no other singers can do still to this date vocally, paraphrasing Whitney. Finally, like I said the bridge of IEW is so difficult to sing in Chaka's key with the runs, not even Whitney could sing it live and even in the studio version Chaka's voice is wayyyyy more powerful. And If you can't hear it than you're just being disingenuous and will lie about anything and I completely understand you know nothing about singing, you just like good music and Whitney was your favorite singer, just don't be so delusional.

Actually Whitney was about 5 months pregnant in this video, if u watch till the end she is actually showing. She was pregnant in the I will always love you video, she played it off by sitting in that chair and reflecting to parts of the movie. (Body Guard)
