The only reason the estate produced this “biopic” was to make up for the backlash they received from their first publicity stunt (estate-approved documentary) and Robyn Crawford’s book. There’s a lot of inaccuracies in this and the timeline is all over the place.
On an Accuracy level, I'll give this movie a 5 or 6. But on a theatrical level I'll give it 8 or 9. It was kind of chronologically off, but hey its keeping Whitney's legacy alive. RIP to the voice Whitney, W reaction SL happy new years

I enjoyed the movie for what is was, entertainment, but not necessarily as a biopic. I appreciate what they tried to do but I feel like they glossed over just how serious her drug issues were and the impact that her relationship with Robin had on her relationship with her mom. Stanley Tucci did a great job playing Clive though.
I’ve gotta admit, given the fact that I’m a staunch Whitney fan, I was dead set against everything about this movie AND seeing it. When it became available to stream, as bad as I didn’t want to watch, I gave in to my curiosity…I enjoyed it! Bad thing first--the storyline IMO was all over the place and seemed as though they read Wiki and just made a movie from that. The good things were Naomi and the music. Naomi did her proud-the wardrobe, the voice inflictions, I loved it.

This movie was better than I expected but it smells a lot like Bobby brown threatened the production to high heaven to make sure he looked as good as possible. Even down to how they met when he said “old enough” like he just has to make it known that Whitney was several years older than Bobby he’s so desperate to preserve his image
I slightly disagree with this. Bobby has never tried to hide from his image. I just think that enough of the truth has come out in the last several years that it would have been foolish of the producers to continue to try and push the narrative that Bobby Brown essentially ruined her. Enough information has come out to make it very clear that neither Bobby nor Whitney were squeaky clean going into the marriage (even Whitney acknowledged that) and the two of them together were a horrible influence on the other. I do think that movie cleaned him up a little too much but I don't think it was because Bobby wanted it that way (he didn't clean himself up that much in his own biopic).
The story is inaccurate. Clive is the devil. I wish Clive and the ppl that are over Whitney’s estate would leave her alone and let her rest in peace. This movie was strictly a money grab. It’s sad that we the fans can’t celebrate Whitney without putting money in these greedy vulture’s pockets. Ok, I’m off my soapbox… great reaction and happy new year.

She didn’t sell the Whitney acting to me when Angela Bassett was lip syncing Tina Turner music you would think she’s really singing same with Chadwick as James Brown you would think they actually singing. To me when the new generation of celebs try to do documentaries for legendary people who’ve passed it’s just not as good as an older actor would do it.
