I was a big fan of hers at first. I liked her style, I liked her voice, I liked that she wasn't skinny and that she was so confident and positive about her size; as someone who was dealing with being bullied and my own body issues/EDNOS at the time, I found her refreshing and relatable and it was awesome seeing a bigger woman gain success and achieve things and be praised and NOT be put down for her weight. Then she lost all that weight, started being pro-skinny, had all these interviews basically trashing her former size, and it was very alienating and I lost a lot of respect for her after that, because growing up I had looked up to her as a role model and suddenly she was reaffirming the same hurtful things I'd been told so often.

i went into watching this expecting to be upset by major shade but you had some valid points. Seems happy to me. I've been a fan for a long time and her happiness is all I ask. She is going to be a part of the US Voice next year, so I'm not sure the headline is accurate. She's always wanted to do a little bit on all venues rather than just focus on one.
I was a big fan of hers at first. I liked her style, I liked her voice, I liked that she wasn't skinny and that she was so confident and positive about her size; as someone who was dealing with being bullied and my own body issues/EDNOS at the time, I found her refreshing and relatable and it was awesome seeing a bigger woman gain success and achieve things and be praised and NOT be put down for her weight. Then she lost all that weight, started being pro-skinny, had all these interviews basically trashing her former size, and it was very alienating and I lost a lot of respect for her after that, because growing up I had looked up to her as a role model and suddenly she was reaffirming the same hurtful things I'd been told so often.

i went into watching this expecting to be upset by major shade but you had some valid points. I've always wondered why as amazing a singer she is for whatever reason she cant get a hit record. but she has had steady work ad an actress and i think thats the arena she should stick to, and record occasionally as well as go back to Broadway and continue theater work, possibly even star in her own TV series. i believe when you start out the gate winning an Oscar, unfortunately you have nowhere to go but down from there. best you can hope for is to maintain and you've never heard rumors shes unprofessional or difficult to work with which is probably why she stays booked.
