You had me at post-apocalyptic adventure. Those are the ones we'll all be having in the future.

The land of sons is completely different from the works that he was doing up to that point. He is best known for his more personal stuff, done with watercolors (mixed with pen pages). In other words, the more "drama" and slice of life stuff that you're liking recently, but he is both way more "honest" and poetic in his own way than most of the other slice of life type of artist in my opinion. There is also a huge difference in art style compared to today's standards. He is also my favourite living italian artist.
    You pronounced it correctly.
I like the land of sons and I wish that he is going to continue with fictional stories like this one since I believe that what he had to say with his more personal stuff has come to a point in which he could start to be self-referential and redundant.
You can get basically everything that Fantagraphics has published, but his best work for me is One Story

I bought "One Story" just recently and immidiately fell in love with Gipi's style! Eager to see/read more by him. A coincidence, that this review just popped in. (Sorry for my English). Thanks, and take care.

I enjoyed Garage Band. I read it years ago in a PhD class on comics.

For a while (and probably still today) Gipi was considered the greatest living Italian cartoonist. Notes for a war story and S. are probably his greatest books

That is a hell of a status given how many absolute comics masters come from Italy.

Totally! Doesn't dump too much up front, just enough to center you and make it comfortable to learn as you go.

You're basically pronouncing the name correctly, his name is Gianni Pacinotti or G.P.
    Pronounced Jippy or JeePee.
