I have the spanish expanded version by Astiberri. The comic itself is the same but it contains a lot of new extras. I'll do a video about it at some point for my channel because you missed something very important. Paco Roca never really Met Miguel!!!!!
I'm not sure that I've got your implication but I don't understand how a "childish" thing like war makes also the medium that is talking about it childish. The comic becomes childish if the way the author narrates it is. It's basically the "how" and not the "what" that defines something adult or not. Anyway, I disagree, war and politics are complex and for this reason can't be childish. War is basically a very human thing, it's in our nature and can be seen in everyday life as well. What changes is the scale. Also, you find it hard to follow because it is indeed way more complex than following humans' psyche, feeling and so on. That's like in every single book, movie or whatever that I've experienced. Understanding a court intrigue needs a lot of attention, for sure more than what you need to understand a man's struggle. I'm not into politics and basically I don't care but Miguel struggle/behavior wouldn't make much sense without showing what war is or it would be weak and not profound.
It is basically because complexity does not equal maturity in my mind. Complexity is often a sophmoric veil for lack of depth. No saying Tardi lacks depth, but that the complexity of politics does not make it an inherently compelling topic for wisdom.

Oh, okay, I need to reread this, then.
I'm glad you're covering Paco Roca. I'm glad Fanta is collecting him. Roca is a cartoonist that I love and needs a wider audience in English.
I am very glad that Fanta seems committed to keeping the Roca flowing, -Carson
Great talk through of the book, thanks. I was wondering about getting some of his work, now I will. 👍
Roca's stuff is awesome. Treasure of the Black Swan is a great one to start with. -Carson
