  • Iguana Solutions is a woman owned wildlife removal company in South Florida that focuses on invasive Iguanas. We take the jobs that other companies will not because iguanas are a special kind of trouble...
    We follow all laws and regulations and self report to local police when using an air rifle. We do not recommend that others attempt to duplicate what we do. Check with FWC and all applicable laws before attempting wildlife removal. We are also insured for what we do, so we are unable to allow random people to tag along for liability reasons.
    We put down all of our iguanas using the air rifle, even when caught live. Relocating iguanas or keeping them as pets in Florida are both illegal. There are no native iguanas in Florida.
    Iguanas dig under sidewalks, seawalls, and structural foundations. Iguanas eat tens of thousands of dollars in landscaping, sometimes at single properties. Iguanas poop constantly- and it can rival a Great Dane patty! Iguanas often times invade peoples homes, through attics, duct work, and periodically they come up toilets!
    Iguana Solutions is called to the places we are at, which is why we are not harassed usually. We have 7+ safety precautions relating to shooting in public. Do not try this at home....do watch this at home.

    Jessica: Just happen to stumble on to your videos. Impressive! You remind me of a girl I knew in high school back in the day. She was a junior, I was a senior. She approached me one day because she had heard that I often eradicated woodchucks for the local farmers on the weekends. She wanted to join me. She had a Mossberg 144LS .22 scoped target rifle. To my surprise she was deadly accurate up to 100 yards. Her demeanor was just like you! I graduated and soon after was drafted and went to VN for a while. Lost touch with her and when I returned home she had graduated and her family moved away. Never heard from her again. Anyway, that's some fantastic shooting there girl!

    Iguana Solutions is a well thought out business doing a good service for people and I enjoy watching their growing success led by a attractive, energetic and formaly educated wildlife professional that is genuinely concerned for the environment and taking an active role in preventing the situation from getting completely out of control. When I was a teenager in WA State my neighbors had a blueberry and rasberry ranch that was literally being destroyed by black starlings another invasive species. They knew that I was an airgun enthusiast and asked me if I could help so I became the Sherrif of the Berry Ranch through much of the 1970's. One neighbor broke out an older Crossman CO2 22 cal rifle that was her Son's and gave it to me and I became very profecciant with it. Open sights any Starling 50 yards or less was dog meat and with a fresh 12 gram CO2 in calm clear conditions that light weight old gun could reach out to 100 feet which it had to because unlike iguanas the starlings got spooked at my presence so the shots got longer. The Ranch owner paid for all of my ammo and it was my passion at age 13 I had not much else that I enjoyed more and like iguanas starlings pooped all down the side of homes, out buildings, cars and even killed trees when they burrowed into it nesting then the tree would unexpectedly fall. They carry lice and to top off why farmers hate them is they don't just eat fruit they take one bite on this berry, cherry whatever and another never finishing any one piece they destroy far more than they eat. Then another neighbor with cherry trees asked me to help them out but it was just me alone and I was loosing the battle. My older Brother helped by suggesting that I secure mouse traps under the trees and bushes with string to catch the starlings temporalily until I could shoot them all. I added a Crossman 7 shot revolver and and rifle in .177 Cal not as powerful still CO2 but quicker to reload the magazine on the rifle was much like in the high end air guns like yours except it had to be manually rotate it each shot plus re-cock the air. This new combo worked very well instead of six birds in a few hours of hunting now I had a pile of starlings in an hour of less! As time went on the berry ranch owner passed the ranch closed other new neighbors complained the next thing I was in the Marines and I shot expert because of my self thought airgun experience. I saw one episode where you were using sticky traps indoors and wondered if they'd work in some areas where there's so many iguanas that you'd catch just them and not a cat or some other critter? I'd absolutely love to have a nice rifle like yours and to be in sunny Florida blasting them iguanas but at age 63 they'd be hard for me to see in the trees. The traps could be baited it wouldn't take long to catch them and a lookout could keep watch until it was time to get them iguanas! Just an idea you are a smart young Lady doing a great job! Tom

    Awesome video, Jessica! Great shooting! Cool to include the info about the rainbow eucalyptus tree. Btw, I think you would enjoy shooting the newer "tequila sunrise" XR(side cocking lever, much nicer than the bolt action) version of the Brocock airgun you are using. AoA has them on sale. Keep up the great work!

    • @iguanaSnipers
      @iguanaSnipers  3 года назад +1

      Yes! I love the new orange colors! But im about to get the side lever(XR) Commander ....or the Sniper....I am having alot of trouble deciding

    • @ghostranger169
      @ghostranger169 3 года назад

      The Commander is gonna feel much more similar to what ur shooting now, and give u more shots per air fill. The Sniper is gonna be more solid, but will feel quite a bit more "bulky".
      Honestly, the Concept lite was made more for how ur using it(rugged, lite, accurate; u just need to upgrade to the XR side lever cocking version) than the others, but I know the allure of a new gun. Lol The BIGGEST thing you will notice and be happiest about on any of them, is the new XR side lever cocking. Sooooo much easier/effortless to cock the gun than the bolt action u have on ur current gun.
      You can't really go wrong with any of them. All excellent airguns. And AoA is so great to deal with. They go above and beyond to make the customer happy.
      Good luck on ur choice

    I love to watch you work, some great standing shooting on display, as always, I don't know if everyone knows how hard that is to do as you have nothing to help support or steady the rifle. Those Iguanas are also some tough animals, there are not a lot of animals that can take a shot to the head and not only survive but also be standing and ready for action after. It really shows how good a shot you are that almost all of your Iguanas go down after one shot. You hit them with such precision that normally they are only shot again to knock the dead body down, that often times it is just one of their sharp claws or a wedged tail that has stopped them from falling.
    Of the people posting shooting Iguana videos in Florida you are the best I have found, Iguana man and ninja are a close second but I haven't seen them be as active as you are, climbing buildings and trees to get after those critters.
    I would like to see you try some different types and weights of pellets out, If you get some Iguanas that are not going to be used as food and are only going to be dumped get together with Raj and use the heads to try out different pellets/rifles (I think he has a Gamo but some of his friends have other brands too) to see which do the most damage or have least pass through, it would mean that they would at least be of some use and could make shooting other Iguanas even more humane (not that you are not humane, I have never seen you cause cruelty to any of the animals you cull) but you could use the information to help other people who might be using the wrong pellets or guns to try to take Iguanas out, I remember one vid I watched and it looked like the dead Iguana had been shot before by someone with a steel bb gun in the past which just injured the Iguana.
    Thanks again for having some extra knowledge in the vid too, the rainbow tree looked like it had been painted with poster paints, I really like learning new things like that. Take care and stay safe.

    I know they are a little harder to find and a little more expensive but id try the jsb hades pellets, the fx hybrid slugs, or predator polymags they have great expansion even at lower speeds and reduce pass through. The hades and hybrid slugs are great for all ranges short to long but the polymags are excellent for short to medium (50yard max)

    Air rifle are not considered to be proper firearms federally and in most States, but local ordinances may directly or indirectly restrict their use. So you viewers must check before you hunt for iguanas! They are also dangerous and all the firearms safety rules still apply.
    Air rifles also give a great degree of control over velocity and weight of the projectile, which allows for an expert (such as the one seen here) to manipulate the air rifle like a master violinist plays a violin. She might make it look easy, but this is NOT plinking at tin cans with a BB gun. She is a master at work, using master techniques and master equipment to produce master results _every day_ .

    How you hit a target swaying in the wind is beyond me. When I ate first noticed the impression the round tin in your back pocket, I laughed and imagined it to be snuff rather than pellets. It reminded me of an old southern saying, Bruten Snuff and not half as dusty. I liked your customers enthusiasm for your shooting and work ethic. Was the red add on to your rifle barrel a silencer or to let the police know your rifle is an airgun (you may have already answered that question)? Hey, I liked those Tarzan moves going up into the trees. That ladder you guys use is not light and I imagine you guys are really tired at the end of the day, especially jumping around the area the way you do. I appreciated your camera man’s commentary on how tough iguanas can be to kill, “they can eat pellets”.

    Awesome shooting, seriously nice work! I thought you were still using Crosman pellets. H&N pellets shoot well, that Baracuda Extreme will put a hurtin' on 'em for sure. Try some Hades, a little bit softer and open up even with lower power. The Hades or Predator Polymags are the most devastating pellets, slugs are fine but too pricey.

      @@iguanaSnipers I guess you know what's on the market for your gun by now, didn't know you'd tried them. Not trying to tell you what to use, just know from being into airguns for a while what works well hunting, Iguanas are obviously tough to take down, maybe thinking out loud of what I'd try. Good stuff, keep knocking 'em out.

    Wish I had something like that to hunt in my neighborhood. Very good shooting and it makes me feel great that the neighbors are not in opposition to your hunting. Glad you represent what our second amendment is about. Firearms are tools to use to get the job done.

    Really nice shooting. How many times can you shoot at say full power before it needs more air and do you use the scuba tank setup to refill?

    • @iguanaSnipers
      @iguanaSnipers  3 года назад

      Yes I have a scuba setup to refill. I rarely shoot on full power till im empty. I would guess 20 shots before air was unpredictable - my gun is unregulated. Im really unsure on this though
