Very professional. Some other videos are cheering and high-fiving and woot-wooting and getting the residents angry. O well. Ya'll are doing the right thing for the environment.
People might think that’s a lot, but it’s just a start they are everywhere in S.Florida and with as many eggs as they carry the more you can kill the better off we are. Keep up the great job and thank you for getting rid of a pest.!!!
With invasive species like Iggys, Asian Carp, Boas, Snakeheads, wild pigs, Etc. There should NEVER be starving people in this Country. Great tasting critters that can be hunted year round. No limit.
Is this Florida? What damage do Iguanas do? I am based in the UK and have never been to the states. Your air rifles seem quite a bit more powerful than ours. We are allowed 12lb foot maximum here.
They dig holes destroy lawns, eat native species and crap everywhere, become aggressive towards humans and pets.Lots of non native species here in Florida pythons, parrots even monkeys, ducks.
@@lapazjim airgun shooting is a lot like extreme distance shooting. The pellet does not fly a flat line. Even 3 feet makes a difference at range. Pro rat and pigeon airgun shooters range every shot. Jessica is an amazing freehand shot and doesn't usually have time to use a range finder so there's gonna be misses. But she nearly always gets her iguana.
@@rollandriehn6404 if you had one of the ATN or PARD digital scopes that are NV aswell as day time they have a range finder built in it's just a press of a button and it shows you the range it's just a case of knowing your reticle then and you can record the footage aswell
Short of remindes me of in old days when the buffalo hunters would catch a heard and just keep shooting and the bullalo would just stand there and make easy targets of themselves
Great shooting. See if a sling would benefit the way you shoot and not get in the way. I use a sling on my rifles and can shoot sub moa at 100 yards. Just put your arm through the sling, kick the elbow out. That rifle will be planted and stabilized to the point of you can keep the scope on target using only your left arm.
It is an earlier video and there are definitely some off days. It is also a different scope and the iguanas at this site actually know me....😞. We have worked alot to improve so hopefully we have done so🤗
Iguanas can live up to 30+ years. I would guess the giant ones here are over 7 years old and likely over 10. This makes me sad but they are damaging the environment and i cannot release them somewhere else. So i ensure they are at least eaten when huge. Most of these were in fact eaten
Hiya something iv noticed is that you are being unnecessarily rough on coking the rifle these modern air rifles are very good and have very fine tolerances I was always told as a youngster look after your kit and it'll look after you and it's not about reloading fast cos you can reload fast without being rough on the equipment and the amount of free hand shots could be cut down by using a set of shooting sticks we use them alot in the UK
Sorry! This was one of our very first videos. I hope you find that we have improved. Our videos are numbered so you can have an idea of how old or new it is!
This is an old video. The camera man was filming different iguanas in the video than what i am shooting at in some instances. I hope you find that our newer videos are better.
No bounty. Second answer is likely no overall but yes in small pockets, locals. We shoot and take most of the large adults, leaving smaller less productive adults behind each visit. Eventually, a property has only juveniles and young adults that many do not breed yet....leading to a much lower egg count each season. Also smaller iguanas are more likely to be killed by raccoons, dogs, and other natural hazards according to FWC. So....so we make a difference in the millions, no. Do we make a difference for a condominium complex, absolutely
Someone was holding their cell phone vertically...that is why the video was Tall and Shiny. Please hold your cellphone horizontal when video recording so it will be recorded in the Widescreen mode...instead of the Tall and Shiny mode as seen in this video.
Seems like several were wounded and not put down right away. The newer videos are more humane. I wish Jessica was mic'd up as I appreciate the info on shots and the science.
Holy shit I didn’t realize there was this big of a problem with iguanas. Seeing the video of a little patch of grass with a shit ton of them just sitting there. Crazy. Also maybe time for a little bit more powerful air gun that shoots a little straighter....or more target practice lol.
I once was watching animal cops and the animal control officer stated that while most cities deal with feral cat population Miami and south Florida deals with wild iguanas.Yes south Florida deals with many non native species of animal besides iguanas. We in Florida have pythons, parrots, monkeys and cayman, monk parakeets (aka Quaker parrots)
Awesome shooting Jessica, the camera man needs to learn to get you in each shot too as you take each shot at an iguana, you will see this video get much more views and likes than catch videos I think!
Thank you! We will work on that! We are trying to improve. But i usually shoot alone so we bought a tripod that can detect the person and follow them self filming...we shall see
Just curious, but do you need a special extermination permit to go walking around a neighborhood shooting iguanas on public land? It is perfectly legal to shoot iguanas from a vehicle? Are you planning any catch & cook videos? Great shooting by the way.
@@iguanaSnipers what I wanted to ask you is: I keep hearing of tegues down in Florida.... what of this invasive species... do you hunt them down as we well?? .
They are an invasive species turned wild by idiot's that turned them loose in Florida. They eat almost all vegetation and they poop all over the place. A general pest and they contribute nothing. The real threat is the reproduction rate.
Do you get paid for this? like a bounty per head? and how much if you don't mind me asking. you already know about larger caliber and slower velocity. wind is really playing with your lead. might want to get a shooting stick, has a Y shaped holder on the end. would help tremendously with steady shot placement and weight when shooting for long periods of time. looks like a riot. not many iguanas in the frozen north.
Yeah, that was a lot of misses, re-do your scope, get it all centered, and one whatever distance you like to set it to. I was going to say, you hiring? because even with my old iron sites, i should shave the sack of a fly at around 35-30 feet distant. So you give me a scope, on top of a pressurized rifle and i bet i could take a boat-ton load of those nasty buggers down!
I was thinking the same thing. The male shooter isn't very proficient and needs to go back to the range to learn the basics. Boasting by singing "Mister Sandman" after he hit on the THIRD SHOT was just embarrassing. He was practically point blank, at easily open sight range. A really good shooter would have adjusted his shots if the sights are off, at least until such time he can zero the rifle. He needs training not because it's embarrassing but because he's undoubtedly wounding animals. This is an older video, maybe he's not shooting anymore or he got trained.
