I loved the match, precisely because it was just about doing wrestling. It would have been perfect if they didn't put the camera shots to the audience (they exagerated too much their expressions and the amount of shots was crazy) but for me, almost a perfect match. Randy and Edge are two greats. It surprises me people don't talk that much about this match.
Orton pretty much carried the covid era. With edge and drew, he really went prime 09 orton to deliver in that match. One of my favorites in recent years. And edge became a better in ring wrestler since coming back. His match with rollins at msg and summerslam are stellar matches.
7:00 A hot crowd makes a decent match into a good match, a good match into a great match, & a great match into an all-time classic. I agree with Edge here--if only this match happened in front of an audience! 😔
Punk vs Cena is the biggest example of this, if it wasn't for Chicago Crowd, that match was mid af. especially Cena's sloppy punches and irish whips and Punk's unathletic counter to Attitude adjustment.
Straight up a greatest hits of some of the greatest matches of all time in one single moment for no one to see lmao that’s what makes it great in my opinion
I still believe the theory that Vince wanted "the greatest match ever" so that if you googled that phrase you would find Edge/Orton instead of Omega/Okada
You don’t call something the greatest wrestling match ever before it’s happened. It sets too high expectations and Randy and Adam knew that. I don’t blame them for it at all of course not but the match we got was actually really good and was on paper something you could go “yeah they were right”. Big moves, good action, good story. For me it isn’t even the match of the year for 2020 but it’s really good and a way for them to say “let’s make a match built around wrestlers who we believe have had the best matches ever”. I felt they genuinely did the best they could and it was great
Yeah it was just a gimmick because Randy was calling himself the greatest wrestler ever at the time, and was saying that in a pure wrestling match he could best Edge.

I think its a great idea for the reason to watch the wrestling in pandemic. Whatever, Vince put many efforts to make WWE intresting at that time and different from other.
Edge vs AJ was decent but not so good, they could have delivered better in their primes though. Most of the styles matches in WWE are just hit and miss, cause we expect a lot from him, but man is nearing 50 now, so we can give him a break.
Call me naive but I thought this match title was a way to manipulate internet search results to move WWE to the top of the list whenever someone would search ”greatest wrestling match ever”.
I mean was a good match great match even. But definitely not the greatest match ever I don’t think it would even make the top 50. I find it hard to judge because it was during the pandemic with no fans and it was taped and edited
i liked the match but the stupid, corporate, petty decision of calling it "the greatest wrestling match ever" is so, SO stupid man... so stupid... i cant take that match seriously because of it... but as some kind of tribute, ok... its ok
That match was good, but the Mania match before was 50 mins of boring garbage. I lost respect for Edge when he started blocking people on Twitter for saying the match was boring. Lol.
Telling everyone ur gonna have the greatest wrestling match of all time during the empty arena era is ballsy af.
it really was. but vince is insane so
“Ballsy”?! More like stupid. Anyone with a brain knew it was stupid and made no sense lol
AEW does it all the time
@@liquiddookie7526 lol

Definitely a huge advantage not having a bunch of nimrods thinking it revolves around them. I miss the no fans era.

No one talks about it due to the tagline.
You can't expect me to take that tagline serious when Shawn and Taker's Wrestlemania 25 match exists.
It was a bad match with more backstage shenanigans than actual wrestling lol

Both are overrated matches anyways
If you said Omega vs Okada to 97 percent of the population, they wouldn't know what you were talking about.
100%
Well, that wasn't the greatest wrestling match ever, either. soooooo....
Omega/Okada isn’t the greatest match either

The tagline/gimmick was needed to make the match an attraction to attract viewers during the pandemic era
its genius when you search greatest wrestling match this will come up on your feed
I assumed Vince called it that so it would show up in search engines when people searched for the greatest wrestling match
Edge on there is no greatest its all subjective, man i wish more people had the same mindset.
It was the match of the night! It was a lot better than Will vs Danielson!
Imagine if this match happened at this years' backlash
I wonder if WWE would consider releasing the uncut and unedited version of the match.
Helped the intensity and drama that Adam & Randy are in love😔😌
As much as I hated the pandemic era, you really got to see the most creative wrestlers shine.
Kinda sad, edge asked randy to reform rated rko, gets rkod
Edge asks christian to team again, gets told to fuck himself
I fell in love with this match as it was unfolding bc it is exactly as Cope says "A love letter to Wrestling." Masterpiece
