PEAS and DES Inspect and Improve Programme, Uganda

Since 2019, PEAS and the Directorate of Education Standards (DES) has worked in partnership to co-design and implement the ‘Inspect & Improve’ programme, bringing together DES’ inspection framework and PEAS approach to school improvement in government secondary schools. The programme aims to empower school leaders to drive up quality and identify successful approaches that support secondary school inspection and improvement processes across Uganda.
Since 2019, PEAS and DES have scaled the Inspect & Improve Programme to over 200 government secondary schools across sixty-nine districts. PEAS and DES have also worked together to develop and test contextually appropriate digital tools that improve the quality and efficiency of Ugandan inspection and school improvement processes.
