  • A recording of a Steam Dreams daytrip from London King's Cross to Great Yarmouth behind Thompson LNER Class B1 4-6-0, 61306 MAYFLOWER. Much of the filming was undertaken onboard either through the Mk1 carriage glass windows or a toplight pointing at (but not protruding) through the open window. There are also station scenes at King's Cross, Norwich and Great Yarmouth. Brush Class 47, 47802 brought up the rear and headed the train between Norwich and Great Yarmouth. Both Arsenal and Norwich football stadiums appear in this video. By coincidence Norwich City were at home to Arsenal this very day but lost 1-0. The weather started off rather grey in the morning but brightened up from Norwich onwards.

Wow! That is such a precious experience. I expect Steam Dreams/owner of Mayflower David Buck would like to hear from you. Thanks for sharing your memory.
      Best wishes,
