Nobody to talk to, nobody to ask for help or directions. All alone to survive in a haunted wasteland that I once called my home. Suburbs and cities just rotting away as the shadows of the people I once knew fade away. Trying to comprehend my surroundings that don't seem to exist anymore.

They’re unsettling not because they’re “too normal”, it’s because nobody is there. These pictures would probably look at bit less scary if there were people just going about their day and socializing. But these pictures are just.. empty and creepy.
I think the people isn't the problem, it was the houses, humans has grown such sense when looking at real one, when looking at these we know that they're really odd, our brain triggered our warning mode incase of something happens because it hasn't seen something like this
That would be a terrifying way to see the world tbh, there is just something about it that makes it seem so horrible. This video genuinely scared me and I'm not that easy to scare lol
Actually true. I start to think if I'm going to watch this to the end of the video on my phone while sitting on a bench outside, someone will come to me from behind and shoot my head with a pistol
This reminds me of that one spongebob episode where squidward moved to the gated town with the other squids who all had the same house and had the same daily routine every day
@@lampphoto I think that's what the images try to simulate. But they fail, because all I can see is bad ugly photoshop. A good example of what you describe, however, would be the room of the ending of 2000 A Space Oddesy. Since it has the design of something "artificial that tries to look natural". A theory says that the reason is that it's the poor attempt of a strange entity to mimic a human house.
Literally none of these pictures are normal. They all portray common segments from our everyday life in an odd environment, which gives us this uncomfortable feeling.
This is how we used to draw houses or cities as kids, just straight up endless grass (maybe some hills), perfectly blue sky and some vague buildings with some very accentuated elements like the "stop" sign, the cars, maybe some trees and eventually a couple of clouds.
This is simply the fear of conformity. Nearly every image depicts a suburban landscape, with faceless buildings that all look the same. There's no people, so all you see are empty shells of something meant to be special, meant to be home, but it's all just a strange shade of beige in your mind.
It’s like the world is so empty. Nothing but grass with a few houses and buildings just placed in the middle of nowhere. Who built them? Who lives there? Are they abandoned? What happened to the Earth?
Do you know how terrifying it is to play minecraft survival on peaceful? No mobs, no threats. In the day, I'm not too unsettled and bothered, but when it came to night, I knew nothing was going to attack me. There was no zombies, creepers, and spiders or any hostile mobs yet everytime I wander around at night in the black of night, I would have this gut wretching feeling like I was being watched or something like I never felt I was truly alone or safe like one day I would come around and end up seeing something much more sinister which is a thought I never want to dwell on ever again
i've been playing minecraft survival on peaceful for a few days now, and the scariest it gets is when I'm mining down. i know there's no mobs, but there's no animals either, and the minecart sounds are still heard even when there's no one there but me, alone in the darkness.. very scary

I'm very unnerved by these images. I can just imagine waking up to a nightmare only to soon find out that I had witnessed an apocalypse happen right before my eyes. Everyone is gone.

Black hole: *We just pretending I don't exist?*
This images don't seem "too normal".
They seem as strange images trying to look normal.

This is simply the fear of conformity. Nearly every image depicts a suburban landscape, with faceless buildings that all look the same. There's no people, so all you see are empty shells of something meant to be special, meant to be home, but it's all just a strange shade of beige in your mind.
