Yeah he cruises very well now. That what I love about the Enfields that hark back to that simpler time where 500cc was big and bikes were more simple! Cheers
Great video, honest and accurate appreciation of the bikes capabilities, going well on the motorway, love the sound of a single cylinder engine on song......l have a classic trials 500 with similar performance mods, great bikes....🙂
im in New Zealand and it was qatching your show that convinced me to get Jane have followed all your mods and have great fun on our back roads doing cams mext
Sounds amazing! Mods look tasteful and effective, glad you got rid of all the emissions junk that’ll choke it up. Nice little cruiser snd for the money you really can’t go wrong.
Thanks for posting - I've been following Doug's development for a while now, and a G5 with a chrome tank will be my 60th birthday present for myself. There will be some suitable products from Hitchcocks' added, but most of all that 19t front sprocket.
Fantastic Taz!!. Really goes well!. Well done mate, most impressed!. Makes mine look crap lol!!. Can't wait to see what's next !!. Many thanks for making the vid.
My pleasure mate it was a good test for it and I was intetested to see. It's pretty effortless cruising now so I'm really happy. Still has enough for overtaking steep hills etc. Glad you enjoyed! 😁😁
Beautiful place, congratulations about video. Your motorcycle is very nice. Here In Brazil has Royal Enfield. I like classic 500 battle green. Is a excellent motorcycle. I am watching your videos that I can.A hug from Brazil 🇧🇷🇧🇷.
Top video - my bikes coming in 3 weeks, ( black chrome ) will get onto these mods after the run in ! Ready to go on the mean streets of Sydney ....Tassie looks way more chilled !
Tas, Just a note that I've just installed an octagonal crash bar and this has definitely had a significant impact on reducing vibrations. It's genuine RE and I bought it from my local dealer where I bought the bike a month ago. It looks awesome and has the extended bracket to clear the oxy sensor on the exhaust. At just $130 AUD, surprisingly, this is about half the cost of buying from India. I also deleted the cursed exhaust air injection system, which has improved idling smoothness and reduced popping and surging at low revs.
@@iRidetas A1 Motorcycles in Ringwood, Victoria. Fantastic couple of guys in spares, Janos and Phil. I got a discount because I bought my bike from there, but I think the usual price is around $170, maybe a bit better. These EFI O2 sensor model crash bars don't seem to be common in India. Probably because their bikes don't often have the sensor. You can make the standard one fit above the O2 sensor by locating the bottom bracket higher up at the lower engine bolt instead on the intended holes.
I think you’ve got it right mate , I’m still riding motorcycles at 78years old and am thinking of making a 500cc classic as my last bike . I’d do the same mods as you have done.
Love the old Enfield Classic. Beautiful motorcycle. I think it's the gear making most of the difference. If you have torque, you don't need horsepower. I generally hate riding the super-highways here in Canada, it's boring, long, straight and the cagers are all fighting with each other for first place with blind lane changes. I prefer the nice quiet back roads, but sometimes the four-lane is unavoidable.
Great vid & explanation of the mods done. Doug sounded like a cat purring along the Highway (happy & content), 100+ under 4 grand who could complain about that 👍 Thanks for sharing, keep the fire burning & tea hot it's bloody cold m8 : ) Get any snow there.
Nice vlog and a great ride on the highway. I own RE Classic 500, a pretty decent bike except for those vibrations. Do you have any suggestions for handlebar vibrations. Thanks 😊
Thanks for that. I can't ride my C5 on the highway over 100kph without my fillings shaking loose and it hurts the bike. The bike is definitely at home on the back roads and twisties. The 19 tooth sprocket goes on tomorrow, and I'll swap out the spark plug while I'm at it. The PowerTronic unit is on its way from India.
I think you will find these help a lot. Each Enfield seems a bit different but my vibrates very little now! And easily sits on 100+ as you saw in that video!
How'd you go with the 19T? After watching a few vids, I feel like mine has a 16T on the front (probably not) but it revs so hard at 90km/h that getting to 100 feels like the thing is about to explode. I still love it.
hi, i changed my front to 19t as well and its great, now i am thinking of changing the rear from 38t to 36t, what do you think? will it help get better cruise performance and ride? Thanks
Hey Mate I have followed most of your videos I have got 2015 Bullet 500 Got Power Commander 5 with straight through exhaust with baffle in it K&n filter But question is I got terrible vibrations on handle bar as from 70kmh before that it's fine How did you get rid of vibration My rear view mirrors were useless thats why I went with mirrors on the sides without weights on handle bar
I have little to no vibration. You may want lead in your bars or at least the bar ends back in. A cross bar or brace helps a lot too. I hsrd ran in my bike and have it tuned pretty well. Fully synthetic oil and ngk spark plugs make a difference too.
@@iRidetas thanks mate I will get a brace definitely Mine is on 15500kms Bought it around 14000 kms Vibrations are same. I have BPR6ES spark plug tried to get same plug cap as u but can't get any Just Serviced mine with Castrol 15w50 Will try iridium plug next service
Awesome work on this bike! I'm hoping to get one in the near future. Do you happen to know if these same mods would have similar effect on the 350cc? Thanks.
Thanks mate! If it's an EFI 350 you may be able to do the fueling mods but you would have to check, the exhaust, air cleaners etc. Could be done on a 350cc no worries. The 19t sprocket I believe so, but youd need to research what you have then maybe go +1 so 17 to 18, so in yes or very close to! Cheers
@@iRidetas I went from the stock 16 to 18 on my 350 and it made the bike way better. I even think it will pull the 19 so I will try one next time I feel like doing the sprocket change. Hills will need a downshift on the 350 but I am not a fan of revving a bike for no reason on long flat roads.

My absolute pleasure Mario and thank you for your support and positive comments and help mate it is always appreciated!
That looked like an effortless cruise! These days people think you need a 1200cc monster for touring and cruising. 500cc used to be a big bike!
Yeah he cruises very well now. That what I love about the Enfields that hark back to that simpler time where 500cc was big and bikes were more simple! Cheers

The Bullet rides very nicely. I couldn't see any vibration in the mirrors. 👍👍👍
Thanks! It certainly quite smooth!
Great video Steve. The mods you made make perfect sense for the roads in Taz.
Yup he is running like a top and loves the back roads but can sit on highway speeds! Im happy with Doug for sure!
