iRidetas kind of touchy aren’t we mate? For your information there is only one perfect, and it sure ain’t me, it’s Yashua the messiah......mate. Ps you should be happy someone is watching your stuff instead of insulting your audience. You’re just like Donald Trump.......mate.
🤣🤣and you think im touchy champ, Its my channel mate. Make an asshole comment and ill be an asshole back. That is the real world not the world of bullies, karrens and keyboard warriors. 👍👍
Fair play mate, helpful vids and plenty of food for thought. I wont be doing this one as no power tronic and I love Edith popping its part of the fun for me.
Sounds good, glad it worked out. He sounds a lot different than from the start 👌 Was it about this time last year you took us for a drive in the snow, also the road that was washed out by a avalanche. Another cold one today, stay warm & thanks for sharing m8 : )
Based on this vid, I bought a pod filter for my RE500 it's beautifully chromed...planned on installing it....then saw a vid on the damage that happens to your pistons with inadequate air filtering... Pod filters or even just replacing the OE filter with a high flow K and N filter. Horrible. Piston scoring, Ring wear, Oil burning. It was pretty awful. There were very small HP gains but it doesn't seem worth it. They recommended sticking to the OE system...as lousy as it is. The small gains in power might be worth the risk if you were racing the bike on a track where every tiny advantage is important and the lack of dirt or grit on a competitive surface might mitigate the loss of filtering. Your roads in Tas seem to be just as gritty as mine, here in Oregon.
It running to lean with out a piggy back ECU would also kill it! I've seen the videos and the warnings before and have run pods on 20 something bikes ive had before and never personally had a filtration issue but yeah the warnings are of concern. As the bike is not my commuter and it's a weekender I love the look, the sound and the throttle response I get with it so I'll leave mine on but certainly understand why you wouldn't Steve!
Installing the KN filter into the filter compartment is kind of tricky: the KN does not stay centralised in place when you put on the plastic cover, so you have to somehow find a way to keep it in correct alignment while you put on the cover.
Hi I know its a while since you placed this video but as I recently bought a classic 500 2020 I am interested in updates for better performance . I already disconnected the breatherhose from the airfilter as made an sort of filter outside the box .the second thing is your replacement of the airfilter by a shorty . In your video I don't see an inlet air temperature sensor in the airbox which is vitel for the ECU to react on inlet air fluctuations (one of the reasons to get the breatherhose out of the airbox apart from being oily) my question is does your model doesn't have an IAT sensor.? Regards Chris
G'day again. Have you tried repositioning your throttle sensor? The Torx screw at the bottom of the sensor loosens and lets you slide the sensor back and forth, telling the ECU to deliver more or less air/fuel mixture. There is a couple of good videos on RUclips showing how to do it, using a mulit-meter and giving 'normal parameters.... I haven't done mine yet but will do in the next couple of days. Should help fix any residual 'popping' and help the PowerTronic get some more juice to the engine.
The powertronic calibrates to the throttle position itself so i cant see changing the tps physically making any difference so never tried. I reduced poping by adding more fuel on racetune at throttle position 0%.
Its 5c here in North Motton with snow on the Dials tonight, nice video anyway mate, and just think if you were a yank you'd have to wear rubber gloves to do that job :) well done
Lol that so true sadly!!! Yeah there was about 25cm plus at work and more on the way tonight fun times at -1 all day! Lucky I got out yesterday to do the job and Test Ride!!!
Hello Bro Really love your ride and mods you have done. May I know the model number of round K&N filter you have installed for combustion chamber, other than pod filter? M also looking forward to some DIY mods. Thanks
If the seat of your pants is tellin ya its runnin better I'm not gonna argue. If you're not goin off road the oiled filter should be ok Triumph told me that K+N's and the like weren't good for off road they recommended foam. The only concern I would have is you no longer have a negative pressure crankcase vent it's just vented to atmosphere if you oils not gettin dirty sooner then that's not a concern either. Hope your weather gets a little better Dug doesn't seem to care much about it.
Thanks mate! Yeah good point, I've taken it off road once to prove it can will be on road from here! It's a good point I have 45mm foam if need be. It seems to be stronger again but I'll watch that oil as you said. Yeah it's not to Northern USA or Japan etc. With snow but it's harsh and wet so creates some issues.
As a fairly active member of an offroad oriented bunch, I can tell you that just about everyone i know has oil-based dna/k&n type filters on their bikes. Only thing is that you have to maintain them every once in a while...
Dug just keeps getting better. Sounds great. The add on fuel commander, does it re calibrate the EFI to run richer? Do you have a vid of the Power commander install? Does it adjust to accommodate the shortened intake and the less restrictive exhaust?
Sorry big day at work, yes it samples the lamda sensor, spark, timing fuel etc. And you alter the maps for the levels of modification so map 1 for low to medium level mods map 2 for more modified Enfield and then base maps for dyno tuning or street tuning etc. I think it's a great unit!
Hey, could you throw some light upon the crank case breather? What's it's purpose? And the stock pipe that fits into that space, where did you mount that?
your bike is a FI engine.. I am thinking to fit 500cc carb to my 350 classic and change the jet, also fit a K & N air filter. with 19 teeth front sprocket. what do think?
@@iRidetas yeah I saw the air pod you installed. My breather hose is cracking, so I want to replace it with a crankcase filter, but not sure if it's safer to just go for a stock breather hose.
Y'know, I'm surprised that no one manufacturers an intake air filter with a connection where you can route the hose from the crank-case. That would seem to duplicate the OEM crank-case vent routing and prevent substances from entering the crank-case through the vent filter. My only real concern about this upgrade is (as a few comments have made) liquids and small particles entering the crank-case through the crank-case filter (though of course the filter traps the big stuff). How has your oil been looking since this upgrade?
Absolutely fine mate! 👍I live in an area that gets 2 metres of rain a year, i am not concerned. I do agree that more aftermarket suppliers should look at the intake as it responds well to modification! Cheers
As I have enquired about what you did with the existing breather pipe, so too Askay More below asked the same question. I have reviewed the video and cannot find what you did in the conversion. Sorry for the repeated question but in a "How To" video a more detailed explanation would-be appreciated. Again your efforts are recognised and appreciated..
Doesnt really need further explanation mate as it isnt a difficult job. Sounds like You are over thinking it, it pulls off the bung on the casing, un hooks from the back of the air box and pulls out. Voila!
No chance mate, way to much work for no financial gain when i work full time! I also couldnt afford to supply the parts required for daily videos. I cant imagine anyone watching daily RE videos!!
@@iRidetas well you need to imagine that way becuase in india many you tube channels upload re vedeos daily and they are not even good content but you upload good content so you must, in india more than 90% people like re

Thanks!
Just upgraded to the NGK spark plug and boot in part due to your videos. Got some other goodies coming by too!
The plugs make a huge difference! Enjoy
Thanks for the cool-weather ride - it's 35 degrees in Chicago today, so much appreciated!
No worries
Sounds quick and smooth through the gears, nice one mate.
Thanks mate it seems pretty good for sure!
I have this fear that water will drown the pods and I’ll stall somewhere 🙀
Fantastic vid mate.
The fuel injection throttle body one is pretty tucked up but yeah it is always something to consider with pods!! Cheers!
That looks way better mate, and you created a nice storage compartment 👍
Yeah it came out well! 😀
Fair play mate, helpful vids and plenty of food for thought. I wont be doing this one as no power tronic and I love Edith popping its part of the fun for me.

Thanks mate it's HECTIC today with the snow, more due! So won't be on the bike today!!! Yup it was it is always harsh at this time of year!

How can I clean my crankcase breather

Its in the video, video desciption, and video title! Pod filter 45mm and crank case breather 12mm. Cheers
What happened if it will wet by rain ???
Pod intake is well tucked up so hasnt, crank case nothing
Hi tas, are there any benefits or drawbacks to having a crankcase filter? Any maintenance involved with them? Thanks
No drawbacks that I have found. A requirement as I'm running a pod off the throttle body so it's now venting straight to atmosphere
@@iRidetas yeah I saw the air pod you installed. My breather hose is cracking, so I want to replace it with a crankcase filter, but not sure if it's safer to just go for a stock breather hose.
If it's to the stock airbox you could or if you want the asthetics
Hey mate. Won't the crankcase pod mean water and such can get into your oil?
My bike is garage etc. And I've never had any issues on other bikes so should be cool. I can mount on a short pipe to prevent it if need be!
Y'know, I'm surprised that no one manufacturers an intake air filter with a connection where you can route the hose from the crank-case. That would seem to duplicate the OEM crank-case vent routing and prevent substances from entering the crank-case through the vent filter.
