Again, it comes back to SP vs MP: wildcards make things interesting in both, but may be less useful in SP when you can simply wait to get the card you want.. & they're so random (at least early on) you can't rely on a wildcard to turn up to save your strategy (or colony)
Coal is so much better than wood for heating. You've got to set up charcoal burners before winter if your biome is even remotely cold. Get that stone insulation as soon as you can too. If all else fails you can try and import some coal/wood. Houses being too far away from workplaces is detrimental too because the whole time they're walking to their job they're losing heat, making working inefficient.
Gather wood and put up forester or two asap away from everything else. Setup two charcoal burners, put one sustainability in each as soon as you get them. 4 Burners unlock the Advanced. Highly recommended, but it takes 16 people and you need a certain Age in research. Click a house and turn off wood use. Research Charcoal Production if available.
It's probably because I've played so many times, but it only took 10 hours to win as Aztec.
Such a shame about the invisible towncentre bug...
...but aside from that, it's always nice to see Kingdoms Reborn!

do you think the card system is redundant with the wild cards?

@@snafu2350 Unless they changed something since my last game, you automatically get wildcards if you stack up five draws and don't use them.
