He's right. I have theatre experience and this is spot on. Chemistry for art is constructed and clinical. The excitement is artistic achievement, like writing a romantic scene in a novel, not experiencing actual romance yourself. The entire POINT is for it to, as James says, LOOK romantic to the audience and get THEM all swoony, not FEEL romantic to the actors and distract them. We'd forget our lines if we were ACTUALLY feeling the soaring ecstasy romance of theatre and film! 😆 The romance is a gift to the audience; theatre and film are more customer-service oriented fields than many realize 😅.
He was hit by (something) falling, then fell and hit his head on the concrete floor while filming (I think it was on the set of Caprica) To start with they thought he just had concussion then realized that he had damaged his spine... As far as can remember it was mid-October-ish. He really was great at the con dispite his obvious pain.
Thank you so much for posting this. it's the best and most cohesive statement from James about his time on the Torchwood Set for S2Ep1 - which is still my favourite Torchwood ep not least because of James Marsters!
thanks for posting this, I so enjoyed that weekend and I can only agree, James has been great despite being injured... I really enjoyed meeting him there
I am gutted that I never even knew that we had James over for a convention. I was really into BTVS especially from Season 4 and when he was comedic in it he was the best although obviously when he got his kit off it was a treat. For me his accent was 98% but hey I couldn't do a good American one unless I sounded like I was either from the Deep South or New York myself. Angel was okay but he only did the last season. How awful about his accident. I hope it didn't give him long lasting injuries.
Jkrfan7 incredibly nice. And sweet and down-to-earth to the point where he and I were chuckling over how odd the connection between fan and artist is. He's one of my favorites.

When James said “when I decide to kiss someone” I totally expected him to say that person is changed forever. Lol

This was filmed at Massive Event's Hallowhedon con in London last weekend... It was amazing, James was GREAT considering the pain he was in :)
