I was not born a Green Jacket but through a miss direction,found myself in Winchester, best move I've ever made ,swift and bold till I croak
Had the honour to talk to HM The Queen Mother when she replanted the Remembrance Trees..And was there this year 9th July for the Reunion was a fantastic day....S&B.....
Jeez my old sarnt major would have had a fit at such sloppy drill, i served in the 80's saying that the royal green jackets live forever in my heart, love to you all my band of brothers (and) sisters
My son Mark Bates served in Northern Ireland, he wanted the army a his young life, the Royal Green Jackets was his life,still today he talks and lives the his time with the Regiment, the best Regiment in the world in .y oppinion3
That was a sad day..
Was on Winchester from March 88, basic training, joined the Li.
A very sad day, both my brothers were in the regiment ,Brian Williams Rifleman 3RGJ, and Bandsman Robbie Williams 2RGJ , RIP Robbie 💖
Very sad. So sorry to hear that. It was sad for me too: I was with my parents when I filmed this and both have subsequently died.

Bloody heck the hairs went up on the back of my neck tears in my eyes I was at the depot in 72 to start my training what tough but fantastic times cpl Duncan was my corporal chippy carpenter was another name hey guys cet et audaux forever

@@popeclock yes he was a great corporal and person he actually took one of us recruits aside and rather than charge him punched his lights out green jacket way of doing things lol

I was there in 1998, training for The light infantry, So the army base closing down, What for ?
Was at the Reunion this year 9th July had free bus up to SJM now ATR Winchester still the same was a fantastic day...
Even marching faster than the AFV’S 😂

Is the green jackets. The same unit that is similar to the green jacket. In the Napoleon war.? Or I’m thinking about another unit?
