    Smart thinking. Getting a hose on the grab so the oil and pipes didnt heat up. Dealt with the situation well in my opinion. 👍

    Oh no, not another one! Good job on the heat sensitive cameras, glad it wasn't too bad, good on emergency service workers, another fantastic job well done as usual! I love the crane action at the best of times but on fire, it was literally smokin'

    Word of warning guys...Lithium-Ion batteries are known to unexpectedly re-ignite (without warning) minutes, hours and even days after all visible fire has been put out. Lithium-ion batteries can enter an uncontrollable, self-heating state. This can result in the release of gas, cause fire and possible explosion. Please take care.

    My dad who’s a firefighter 👩‍🚒 was on your site also we both watch your channel but he didn’t see right to have a autograph at time not appropriate, but glad we did a good service your yard it’s so good you have your heat, sensitive cameras as well glad your shearer or equipment didn’t get badly damaged after all money spent So quite lucky, it’s just cameras and light which aren’t very expensive
    Also we have started doing experiments now with Li iron batteries like we do chip pan fire we reckon 80% uk don’t realise danger ⚠️ fire they cause

    Unfortunately, battery fires are only likely to become more common with how widely they are used now in things like disposable vapes. Lithium ion batteries if shorted out/pierced will arc and catch fire extremely quickly like you have shown.
    If you find a lithium battery that is damaged, best thing to do is throw it in a bucket of salty water outside, away from anything flammable. The salty water solution will react with the materials in the battery and the water will go a deep yellow colour. Best to leave it 24 hours.

    • @e.n.l1976
      @e.n.l1976 Год назад +2

      Really wish they would ban disposable vapes, there is nothing disposable about something with a lithium ion battery and as well as the fire risk it is a huge waste of batteries that can be recharged and reused 1000s of times

  • @CanadianTreasureHunter
    @CanadianTreasureHunter Год назад +2

    You have to screen all incoming loads & During Summer hot days use sprinklers or even set up fire suppression when fires happen, Not sure if the fire department bills you for the fire fighting? I had a Kitchen fire in my Rental property & they sent me the fire bill of about $1000 for the cost of the the fire

    Hi Richard and Harry, I like your video. I am based in Sheffield and I sell non-ferrous to EMR. I think it would be interesting to learn more from your family history to complete episode 12. Especially about the life of Henry Taroni. I believe that you must all come from the 1870 wave of Southern Italian immigrants fleeing the famine and Napoleonic wars, your family name is probably Tarone, with an "e" or Tarrone with double "r", it kind of mean "poor peasant" in Italy and some time is used as an insult. Maybe the first "Taroni" came to Birmingham because of an Earthquake in the South of Italy, I am dying to know more. Also, can you give us some more insight on the trade of "exotic" non-ferrous like titanium, cutting tool inserts, neodymium, rare earth, cobalt alloy etc... ? Many thanks for your video.

    Have you already pivoted or thought about expanding into the breaker business? The decommissioning of the oil and gas infrastructure will bring around 1,000,000 mt of scrap steel onshore through Great Yarmouth and Dundee, including a lot of corrosion-resistant alloys. I imagine it should be of interest to you. Can you process radioactive LSA-contaminated piping? The dirtier, the more it pays, and that shit is tailored for the emperor of scrap !

    Went to your yard today and can safely say will never come back. Waiting over an hour to get on the bridge, unloading clean metal and I'm being bombarded by other people to move my van etc. Yet they're all there stripping and unloading shit metal 🤣 dissappinted really considering its meant to be the best in the UK. But I can't fault the prices paid, that's the only decent thing.
