BEFORE the BEATLES even, and she instantly recognized ROY (which I was pleasantly surprised that she DID!) and she HAS reacted to GEORGE HARRISON before, so I was amazed she didn't recognize him or at least his voice. SO, "how long ago" someone was popular doesn't always mean a thing with the age of the person reacting. I know little children who KNOW a Beatle when they see one.

Jeff Lynne has a look, but not a million miles away from a lot of rock guys.

      Roy Orbison from late 1980something looks like Roy Orbison from 1950something - black hair, dark glasses, dark clothing, perfect voice... George Harrison from late 1980something looks nothing like George Harrison from 1960something - too many stylistic changes from his Beatles days to be easily visually recognizable.

  • @ptournas
    @ptournas 2 года назад +16

    One of the best bands ever! Now that everyone has told you who they are, here's a little background on how they got together.
    George Harrison talked about forming the Traveling Wilburys in an interview.
    “I was having dinner with Jeff Lynne, he was having dinner with Roy Orbison and I said to Jeff ‘do you feel like coming along’ and he said ‘sure’. Roy Orbison said ‘well if you do something give me a call’. I went round to Tom Petty’s house to pick up my guitar which was at his house and he said ‘Oh I was wondering what I was going to do tomorrow’. And the meantime we were, with such short notice, I didn’t know of any studio that I could find that quickly. So I called Bob and he said ‘sure come on over’.”
    When they arrived at Dylan’s garage, George and Lynne started writing the song. George thought it was silly having all the guys there but not on the record. It was a once-in-a-lifetime moment having all five of them in one studio. So he invited Petty, Dylan, and Orbison to sing on the track.
    Looking around Dylan’s garage, George saw a box that said, “Handle With Care.” They formed the lyrics around the phrase. When they finished recording, George knew the song was too good for a European 12-inch. So, he kept hold of it until he decided to get everyone to record a whole album.
    If I could remember the article I saw the interview in I would cite it, but all I have is some notes I took from it.

    The record company rejected it when he showed up with the song, it was just too bloody good to be a b-side, so George managed to get the other together for a writing and recording session in Bob Dylans home studio. They had ten days. Write one song in the afternoon and record it next morning and off to the next song.

    Fall is my absolute favorite season for the exact reasons you stated. The changing of the leaves, the beginning of the temperature drop where it feels cool in the evenings and mornings, that earthy smell 🥰..
    And for me personally, my birthday is near the end of October. My favorite football rivalry game is in the middle of October, between Oklahoma and Texas (who ironically combine to have fall colors). Hunting season starts in October, and the rut (deer's mating season) starts at the end of October, although I've sadly been too unhealthy to go out and experience it in the last 4 or so years. I still love it and miss it badly. 😭
    The summer seemed quick in some areas, but slow in others. It felt slow when we had that super long stretch of 108°f weather in July, and it felt long in August while waiting for football. I can't handle the summer, especially now with my poor health. So I'm happy to see it finally end. My favorite seasons are fall and winter. But those two ALWAYS go by super fast. It always saddens me when I take a moment in the fall and winter to realize how fast they're flying by. Lol

      I'll soon be 31. I'm getting ooold. I'll be wearing velcro shoes, and the waist of my britches close to my armpits soon. 😂 jk
      It's okay though. I live in the middle of the woods, so I can still get a small taste of enjoyment through looking out the window or stepping outside briefly, or having Thanksgiving dinner. It's a funny, unique, and unexplainable experience, to walk outside as fall approaches and have the temperature, smell, and the specific sound of the forest trigger a strong itch within me to go do the things I grew up doing during the fall. I don't quite experience it with the other seasons.
