One of the greatest assemblages of talent to form a truly SUPER group. The other two were Jeff Lynne of ELO and I am a little disappointed you didn't recognize the main singer George Harrison of the Beatles who I thought was the most recognizable
@@rk41gator Uh, do you realize HOW LONG AGO ROY ORBISON was? BEFORE the BEATLES even, and she instantly recognized ROY (which I was pleasantly surprised that she DID!) and she HAS reacted to GEORGE HARRISON before, so I was amazed she didn't recognize him or at least his voice. SO, "how long ago" someone was popular doesn't always mean a thing with the age of the person reacting. I know little children who KNOW a Beatle when they see one.
@@patticrichton1135 But, truth be told, while I personally think George was the best Beatle (by far), he's almost certainly the least recognizable. Let's face it, everybody knows Ringo when they see him. Personally, I think Tom Petty is the most recognizable, his look is unique. Jeff Lynne has a look, but not a million miles away from a lot of rock guys.

Roy Orbison from late 1980something looks like Roy Orbison from 1950something - black hair, dark glasses, dark clothing, perfect voice... George Harrison from late 1980something looks nothing like George Harrison from 1960something - too many stylistic changes from his Beatles days to be easily visually recognizable.

A Once In A Lifetime Gathering Of Legendary Music Icons,, George Harrison (Beatles),, Roy Orbison,, Bob Dylan,, Tom Petty & Jeff Lynne (Electric Light Orchestra)
One of the best bands ever! Now that everyone has told you who they are, here's a little background on how they got together. George Harrison talked about forming the Traveling Wilburys in an interview. “I was having dinner with Jeff Lynne, he was having dinner with Roy Orbison and I said to Jeff ‘do you feel like coming along’ and he said ‘sure’. Roy Orbison said ‘well if you do something give me a call’. I went round to Tom Petty’s house to pick up my guitar which was at his house and he said ‘Oh I was wondering what I was going to do tomorrow’. And the meantime we were, with such short notice, I didn’t know of any studio that I could find that quickly. So I called Bob and he said ‘sure come on over’.” When they arrived at Dylan’s garage, George and Lynne started writing the song. George thought it was silly having all the guys there but not on the record. It was a once-in-a-lifetime moment having all five of them in one studio. So he invited Petty, Dylan, and Orbison to sing on the track. Looking around Dylan’s garage, George saw a box that said, “Handle With Care.” They formed the lyrics around the phrase. When they finished recording, George knew the song was too good for a European 12-inch. So, he kept hold of it until he decided to get everyone to record a whole album. If I could remember the article I saw the interview in I would cite it, but all I have is some notes I took from it.
