Paid 1900 last week. Got number one floating cabana. We had so many people swim in front of our cabana, at times we had to wait to go on the slide. When we were out to the pool, some strangers came up to the cabana and claimed it as theirs and was fighting with the attendees about it. When we showed up they apologized and left. People randomly got on our slide without even asking and when the lifeguards told them this is private, they yelled things out regarding it wasn’t fair they couldn’t access because they didn’t pay for it. I could feel the hate from some of the people and the comments they were making. Food was great especially the lobster. Our waitress was fantastic. Drinks were great. I would definitely do it again but Definitely will choose a different one. And yes I was an owner suite guest and I got one couple days before we got to the island without a problem. We requested everything from our concierge. We made sure to tip him well on the first day of the sailing. Don’t know if it had anything to do with it but he literally took care of everything for us on the ship from fruits and snacks after turn over at night to making reservations for food and excursions when we told him we didn’t really know what we wanted.
Thank you so much for commenting and letting us know about your experience. We are so sorry to hear you got cabana one! This was the very reason we made this video… to make sure people are aware of the location and see that people can literally walk up to your cabana from the beach. We were at the snack shack a few weeks ago having lunch and the crowds around that cabana were ridiculous. We had the most amazing attendant, Manvar, the first time we rented an over water cabana. We requested him the next several times and we always stop to say hello, even when we aren’t going to the Coco Beach club. The staff and management are great there and unfortunately the placement of the cabanas is out of their hands. Hopefully Royal Caribbean will eventually address this in the near future. Thanks again for letting us know about your experience.
So we watched your video after we bought our over water cabana, and had some major concerns related to the info you shared…and I wanted to share some of my own: - we had cabana #2, and we never had water more shallow than 5-6’, most of the day it was 7+ feet deep. ALL day, from 9a until we left. - there was 3 sting rays, a number of small fish and some jelly’s, but the we never saw one shark or any kind, no barracuda, and the jelly’s were all resting on the sand floor. - the general access beach had a rope line next to cabana 1 that prevents anyone from swimming or walking past toward the cabanas, and the life guards enforce it all day (maybe a new feature?)…no one crossed over and that area was packed full. …many of the other points you made were valid, but I wanted to clarify those few, as they were NOT issues when we just visited on May 30th. They’ve done a lot to isolate the cabanas from everyone, including the people at the private coco beach club beach area.
We recently cruised almost back to back on celebrity and royal caribbean; the overwater cabanas were selling for $1200 on royal and $3700 on celebrity. We hadnt been to cococay since the major upgrade and re-branding and were thinking of trying out a floating cabana on the royal cruise, but after watching this and other youtube videos decided not to. On our celebrity day to cococay we took the free day approach and had a fabulous time! We parked ourselves at chill island where there were plenty of loungers even though we didnt get off the ship until 1130 and allure of the seas was also in port that day. There was a bar nearby as well as one of the free food stations. We were impressed by the food as it was much improved over our last visit to cococay. Even though we ate lunch late (2pm), the food was plentiful, fresh, delicious, and the serving stations were clean. The water at the beach was great! On our Royal visit to cococay, we booked the coco beach club. It was OK, but i doubt we'll do it again. While the lunch food was a little better, the service was VERY slow and our table was VERY hot. I dont care for lobster, so i tried the filet and it was excellent, but given the heat of the day, i just dont think i fully appreciated it. It was such heavy food. My husband had the lobster, which he enjoyed, but it was not great lobster (overcooked and barely warm when it arrived). Loved the appetizers. Dessert was nothing special. The loungers were exactly the same as the free loungers at chill island just a different color, so that was disappointing. I thought they might be padded for extra comfort. They were more spaced out than at chill island and there were lovely attendants who brought drinks to the beach chairs. But the beach itself was terrible! It was full of sea grass, shallow, muddy, with no waves at all. Lots of people on our day were getting burning rashes in the water (we did not), so by the afternoon everyone, including my husband and i, were in the hot pool. We had a good time, but just not good enough to warrant the $290 it cost us. And, you're absolutely right about cabanas. If we had been assigned cabana 1 or 20, i would have been really upset. They were in such shallow water and with no privacy. Im SO glad we did not book one as we were not suite guests and im guessing we would have been assigned one of the least favorable locations.
On 2022 symphony June sailing the hiked the price from $1800 to $3600, but that was after they were all sold out. It was in line with virtually every other item increasing, like the deluxe drink package.
Well, at-least for me, I don't have to worry about these cabanas because there is no way I could affort them lol. I agree with the pricing and some of the rules and regulations could get really rediculous. Cruise members and staff are some of the best in the business however.
We booked Mariner of the Seas for our honeymoon cruise for March 11, 2024. Of course I had to book a floating cabana. Your video was very informative and took some of the excitement away from the cabana. We hope to relax, have a few drinks, good food and read a book since we're going there on the last day of the cruise. I'll comment back here after the cruise
I'm going this spring break and the water park cabanas are $2199 while the floating cabanas are $2,999. I initially reserved a water park cabana because I'm sure we will spend most of our time there, I'm wondering if it wouldn't be worth the extra $800 to get a floating one because of all of the extra space and perks. It does look like a fairly long walk to the water park. What are your suggestions?
The floating cabana doesn’t include the waterpark. It includes the coco beach club with the heated pool and food, such as lobster and filet mignon. I 100% wouldn’t spend $2199 for a waterpark cabana though… that doesn’t sound right.
Recent visit in May 2024- got the floating cabana on sale for about $1700 for four people and thought it was well worth it. I agree with the above video. Worth the splurge. Had cabana 16 with Manvar and his why not? attitude was amazing. Manvar made the experience worth it. He treated me like a king and the family amazing. The splurge is worth it if it is on sale. I do think they should include some sort of alcohol with it for the price, at least 2 drinks, come on royal Caribbean/celebrity for the price, you should be giving 2 drinks per person. And the tide really went out between the time we got there, that was not really listed anywhere. For it being 2024, the cruise company likes to be very vague in its website descriptions. But thanks for the video it did help!
So glad you had an amazing experience with Manvar. He really is awesome and cabana 16 is the best location :) I do agree with the drinks, especially for the cost of the cabana…. I mean, “why not?!” 😂
Just looked at the cabana prices for a sailing in June 2024. $4,000 for the overwater cabanas and $1,700 for the on-beach smaller cabanas. That’s a lot of inflation.
Yes, the cost has gone up quite a bit… especially if you’re on an Oasis class ship. I saw it recently for $1,700 on a Freedom sailing. As long as they can fill them at those ridiculous prices, they won’t lower the prices. $1,700 for a cabana on the beach is not something I’d ever do.
We are sailing on the icon in 3 weeks July 20-27 and the floating one shows right now two left at 4K a piece. We are in a suite. Just wondering if it’s worth that much.
I still don’t know why the map matters. If you can request a different one maybe. However, my understanding is they are assigned and what you get is what you get.
The map shows where your cabana will be. We have been able to change ours twice and it was beneficial because we were originally given cabana 1. We would’ve canceled and had it refunded if it couldn’t be changed.
If CocoCay is your first stop, usually not. The best thing to do is ask the shore excursion desk as soon as you board the ship. If you have a suite, I believe you can request through your Genie, but not sure the requests are always granted.
Very informative; thank you. I had no idea that they had built some of these floating cabanas over at Chill Island; I would be greatly disappointed if my cabana was not located in the beach club area.
We just came back from CocoCay. We rented two cabanas! We were fortunate enough to get cabana 16 & 17! It was pricey though- we probably spent about $8k for both! It was a great experience but will probably never do it again for that price. My dad treated us all to the cabanas. We were 10 in total. When I purchased these I did not know that we could have all been in one and paid an additional fee. It was not mentioned in the details.
Glad you got great cabana locations, but yes… $50 each for 2 additional guests. The prices now are crazy!! I guess if you have 10 people and split the cost it’s not terrible, but when you are a family with one person covering the cost it’s too much! 😬
Thank you for the informative review. Going on Symphony of Seas in November for my 50th birthday and wanted it to be extra special. This will be my 1st time in an over the water cabana as well as Coco Cay. Keeping my fingers crossed that we get a cabana in front of the Club and not Chill Island. For sure going to request this with our Royal Genie (another birthday splurge). Thanks again!
I highly recommend you request “Manvar” for your cabana attendant! He was absolutely amazing and you wouldn’t be disappointed! Definitely get with your Genie and ask for 16 for sure!! Happy Birthday to you! I just celebrated on the Symphony last month! Let us know if your Genie is able to get your request approved. :)

Hi I agree with you about the pricing tho. You said it was about $2000 but now I just recently booked it was 3450 for the 5/16/24 agree with you and wish they have more and also they should assign when you booked your cruise fair right? I like you show and thanks for showing!
Ask for Manvar to be your cabana attendant…. He is the absolute best!! We go visit him just to say hello every time we go to CocoCay. You can also try to ask for a specific cabana, but there’s no guarantee. Enjoy every minute of your time on the floating cabana… it’s going to be a perfect day for sure! Let us know how you enjoyed it. :)
Thanks so much for getting back to me and I appreciate it. Uou are absolutely right that place is amazing and so relaxing too. We have a son in the wheelchair and it’s so hard to go rent anything that near the water because of his wheelchair won’t work on the sand. Yes I heard when we were there and we stayed in the #10 and it was perfect. My husband is a quiet guy and his vacation is to just stay away and chill out and relax. But the price is so expensive tho! I will ask for that guy and will tell that you recommend lol
They have gone up so much in price. I just got off the Liberty of the Seas 3 night and then a 4 night cruise. The 3 night was $1,999 and the 4 night was $3,400. I get supply and demand but that is just insane.
ICON cabana pricing for May 17-24 2025, Coco Beach Club Over water cabana-$5,299, Coco Beach Club-Beach cabana-$4,499, Chill island/Water park/South beach/Oasis lagoon cabanas-$1899, Hideout Cabanas (with private infinity pool)-$2099, Hideaway beach cabanas-$1199, I did see a sale recently. Example, Hideout Cabana was $1793-15% off.
Overwater cabana's for my cruise on the wonder Started at 3799. Nobody bought them so now they have dropped and are listing at 2699. People are switching from beach club cabana to the other as the beach club ones started at 2499. They will drop the price if people don't rush to get them. It happens the Wonder will be the only ship there that day.
That’s still crazy expensive, but you’re absolutely correct! The Wonder was so much fun and not having to share CocoCay with another ship will be awesome! Have a great time!
I'd agree. Moving them would help. However, when you are paying $2000-3000 and you're right people not paying that's a bit absurd. And the fact you can't pick your cabana makes it even worse. We're going in June 2024 and the ships are Adventure and Grandeur the day we're there. Currently have a Chill Island on hold at the max price ($1299), but if something crazy happens and the beach club cabanas drop we're moving there. Doubtful they'll drop much, but never know. Plus Adventure and Grandeur won't max the island out so it may motivate RCL to do a sale on them. Have you done the other cabanas? Any personal tips there? As stated, we have Chill currently, but debated by the pool or even south beach.
We have only stayed at the overwater cabanas. There should be different price points for them and the ability to purchase cabana location based on availability. Same with coco beach club cabana. The only other cabana I’d consider paying money for is the beach club cabana. There are plenty of beach chairs and umbrellas on the beach and around the pools so I don’t feel cabanas are worth it. Actually, we almost booked the waterpark cabana once as it was only $600 and there were 6 of us. The waterpark passes were only $50 on that trip and again, there’s plenty of chairs and umbrellas. $300 extra for the cabana plus gratuity just didn’t make sense. Glad we didn’t do it because the locations of the cabanas were tucked away and we got great chairs right in front of the wave pool. Chill Island is the same. Not sure a cabana is really worth it. I’d save my money and use it for an excursion in Nassau. :)
@@davidfence6939if you are into water sports, jet skiing and parasailing were really fun! We haven’t posted jetskiing yet, but we have a few Labadee videos. I love the cruises that stop at both private islands and the D.R. is great too. We’ve done the dune buggies, caves, zipline and Damajagua waterfalls there. No matter what you choose to do, you’ll have an amazing time!
My family is splitting a south beach cabana on our sailing this fall. $999 before taxes and fees. SMH I hope it’s worth it. We normally get cabanas whenever we beach/pool/waterpark. Compared to what we got at with our last cabana at Jungala Luxury Waterpark for around $400 for the day including park entrance, I really hope this one lives up to the hype.
The cabana prices are so inflated these days. We haven’t rented a cabana on south beach, only the ones over the water. The service for us was amazing and the food was really good too. I couldn’t justify paying the same amount for a beach cabana after staying on the floating cabana. With that said, I’m sure you will have an amazing time with your family! CocoCay is so much fun!
It totally was worth it. I got it for $2800 Canadian, that saved me 4 coco Kay beach passes since it was 4 of us, then I sold the other 4 passes to people on the cruise ship for about $150 usd each, netting me $600 usd or $840 cad. Bringing the total cost to only $1960.
We weren’t able to request a specific cabana ahead of time. If you have a suite, you may be able to request through your Genie, or if CocoCay isn’t your first port you can try to request at guest services.
I would never pay any of those prices for how many few hours we are on the island. It’s just a waste. Royal Caribbean making serious wasted bank for a cheap cabana
The prices are crazy expensive now. When we first rented the cabana last year we thought $1,000 was a lot. It has since more than tripled! I guess as long as passengers are willing to pay, the prices will remain high.
Thank you for your comment. It isn’t a map to show direction, it is the map they give you to show which cabana is yours. There were two different maps printed. One was accurate and one was not. So for instance, if you had cabana 14, on one map it showed there wasn’t a cabana in front of yours and on another map it showed there was another cabana in front. It was just to bring awareness that when you look at the map it may not be accurate. When spending thousands of dollars, some people might not want to be looking at another cabana in front of them.

agreed. if i pay 1900 for a cabana i don't want everyone who paid zero to just be able to swim up behind it.

Wonder right now chill island cabana is $673
Overwater cabana's for my cruise on the wonder Started at 3799.
@@SiegleMedia Thanks! Officially leave next week!
@@SiegleMedia Our 2 other stops are Labadee and Puerto Plata.
Canadian here, bought the overwater cabana, on sale it cost me $2800. Lets hope its worth it
Oasis of the Seas, Jan 28th cruising
That’s a bit pricey, but we loved the overwater cabana! Hope you have a wonderful time.
Was it worth it?
It totally was worth it. I got it for $2800 Canadian, that saved me 4 coco Kay beach passes since it was 4 of us, then I sold the other 4 passes to people on the cruise ship for about $150 usd each, netting me $600 usd or $840 cad. Bringing the total cost to only $1960.
Can u request a certain cabana?
We weren’t able to request a specific cabana ahead of time. If you have a suite, you may be able to request through your Genie, or if CocoCay isn’t your first port you can try to request at guest services.
I would never pay any of those prices for how many few hours we are on the island. It’s just a waste. Royal Caribbean making serious wasted bank for a cheap cabana
The prices are crazy expensive now. When we first rented the cabana last year we thought $1,000 was a lot. It has since more than tripled! I guess as long as passengers are willing to pay, the prices will remain high.
Now they are $3700
Coco Beach Club - Overwater Cabana $4099 May 2024. 😳
That is crazy overpriced. It was definitely an amazing experience…. But not THAT amazing.
Who cares about the map - they take to the beach club on a tram and an attendant takes you to the location.
Which cabana number is your favorite?
Cabana 16 😎
Also in the 1-10 set I’d say 10 has the best location/view.
Thanks. I've heard 11 is a good one too.
Can u request to not be in one? Or request one?
@@amymassimino6768 you can ask, but there’s no guarantee. If your first port is CocoCay, they have them assigned before you get on the ship.
All of you fight for those cabanas and couldn’t care less 😂
