    This is a fun project! I did this with my kindergartners on a small scale. I will send the finished project. I will try adding the steaming step to hold the dye better. Thank you.

    This is really neat and something that would be fun to do with kids. I think I'd want to see a few demo videos before trying it myself though.

    I just recently flower pounded a white cotton shirt. It was a fun experience and some flowers pounded better than others. If it fades it is okay I will just paint over it with fabric markers or paint pens. I haven’t ironed set it or washed it yet though

    So am I understanding correctly....once u have mordant a garment u can always return to garment and hammer it again?? Even after machine washing etc. Also if one was to sell made garments would u recommend hand wash only

      You can keep adding to it but the mordant will be less effective the more it's washed, but dye will still stick. And yes, handwashing is best!

    Can ironing inside out, salt or vinegar help with fixating the colours?

      @MyGreenCloset  9 месяцев назад +1

      No, not really. Some people claim salt helps with berry dyes but in general salt and vinegar are not mordants so they won't help the colour bind.
      With ironing from the back I don't think there's much difference than ironing with a cloth.

    Is there anything you shouldn’t use, toxic plants, for example?

    I have waited awhile to wash the items after flower pounding and still the flowers bleed - talking months later. any suggestions ? some say to put in cold water right away and some say wait as long as you can
