One of my favorite Steven Wright gags: I once played poker with Tarot cards. I got a full house, and four people died.
My friend has a circular driveway. He can't get out.
I washed my dog with spot remover. He disappeared.
'I put a skylight in my apartment. My upstairs neighbors are pissed!'
“I own the earth’s largest seashell collection. I keep them on beaches all around the world.”
Always my favorite.
My favourite of his is “Curiosity killed the cat …. but for a while I was a suspect.”
I just got a t-shirt with my all-time favorite joke of his: "Everything is within walking distance if you have the time."
My favorite of his is "I woke up this morning and everything in my house had been stolen...and replaced with exact replicas."

I believe it was Steven Wright who said "When I die I want to die like my grandpa, in my sleep. Not kicking and screaming like the rest of the people in the car!"
My favorite line from him is “I woke up in a blaze of glory. My bed was on fire.”
So I got off the plane and I forget to take off my seat-belt and I’m dragging the plane through the terminal... The wings are knocking people over...
He is a legend of this type of comedy.
He's highly intelligent and his delivery like you saw is impeccable.
Another comedian with a similar style that is great is Mitch Hedberg.
Nice choice to give they Squirrel!
Hedberg is in my Top 10 along with Carlin, Hicks, Chapelle, Pryor, and Gaffighan.
I always described Mitch as the stoner Steven Wright. lol

I've probably heard all his jokes many times, but to see someone react to them for the first time makes me laugh all over again.
Another great comic with somewhat similar (but less dark) humour is Demetri Martin. He often picks a guitar throughout his jokes so his delivery is unique.
Steven Wright is VERY funny . I loved watching him about 30 years ago . His humor opens up your mind and makes you look at life differently
I went to a store that I know is open 24 hours.
When I got there, there was a guy locking it up.
I asked him, "Why are you locking up? This store is open 24 hours."
He said, "Not in a row."

In my house there's this light switch that doesn't do anything. Every so often I would flick it on and off just to check. Yesterday, I got a call from a woman in Madagascar. She said, 'Cut it out.'
I LOVE Steven Wright! He was the first live comedy show I ever saw. I think I was about 23.
I recently got into astronomy so I had a skylight installed in my ceiling. … My neighbors upstairs are really pissed.
My fav Steven Wright joke: I bought some batteries...but they weren't included so I had to buy them 39 more times. Another: I have the world's worse thesaurus - it's awful and it's also awful.
Yeah, the batteries is a great one. I believe he also said "Whatʻs another word for thesaurus?"
They left out some of my favorites from him: I just bought a microwave fireplace… you can spend an evening in front of it in only eight minutes.

Saw Stephen a few times in the 80s it got funnier as the night went on,the continuing deadpan was ridiculous

Glad you guys did this. I think this odd deadpan humor is more appealing to Brits. Americans don't seem to appreciate it quite as much. Stephen is one of my favorite comedians.
I was happy the joke that stood out for you was the fishing joke. I repeat that all the time and I swear most people don't actually get it.

I've tried to see as much of Steve Wright as I can...I've seen the fishing joke many times and only just figured out that the 'fine line' part was relevant...

Hello! I have been following your channel from quite some time. First of all, I am a fan from India. I really like the videos you guys make. Today, as an Indian, I wanted to introduce you to a new genre of music.
I would like to recommend you guys a song called 'Laal ishq', a semi Indian classical song. The singing, the instrumentation is done in Indian classical system. This is a fantastic track and it won't disappoint you. I am not sure if you guys are familiar with Indian classical music, but it's heaven. Hope you guys check this out and enjoy this.
Excellent recommendation Squirrel!!! He always cracks me up. I know sometimes British humor and American humor can be a bit different. But Steven Wright's routines cross those boundaries well as we can tell by Brit Pops reactions.

I recall telling a friend about the fine line joke. I expected him to laugh at the very least, but he got weird about it, saying that the joke promoted bullying. lol Then he went to to tell me there are no jokes. Quite an odd experience needless to say.

Why not try ' Get Smart'. Make certain it's the tv show and not the movie. The tv show is superior to the other iterations.
Actually this *sucked* . You need to watch Steven Wright's entire performance. His pace grows on you; the slow delivery, long pauses to let thoughts sink in; the magic starts working about ten minutes in. The audience starts busting its gut once it adopts to his *tempo* , otherwise it's just a series of one-liners, albeit ingenious one-liners. The other part of his comedy is its surrealism, but at least this does comes through in the cut-up, spliced-together video you reacted to.
These were good but not his best stuff.
