Terminator lost his eyebrows when he jumped through the fire when he was chasing them out of the nightclub. They were singed off, along with some of his hair.
I can't begin to describe how much I miss the 80's. If a time portal opened up right now I would jump through without hesitation and never look back. I miss the colors, the music, the fashion, the sense of optimism. 2023 sucks.
Being born in '87 myself, I don't really have the direct personal nostalgia for the 80s, but I love the decade enough from my experience over the course of my life that I'd follow you through without question. The fact that we'd eventually get into the 90s (my personal vote for the peak of humanity) is also a great motivator.
oh the optimism... the cold war was over, we worked together on the ozone hole, we saw the climate challenge and we looked like we were starting to take it seriously... that exciting new internet computer thing was a wild new frontier and creativity was at it's peak, especially in cinema and music. I prefer to think of it as an alternate timeline. There is no way it can have gone off the rails this bad... maybe a paralell universe that's just so lame its more like satire? @whimsory a great fresh reaction, I look forward to watching as you go through your list! Also, no judgment, but how is it possible anyone could have watched 3 Arnie movies and not one of them a role that earned him his fame lol. Buckle up, cause it's a fun ride... a choppa ride! Yep.. True Lies and Total Recall are a must... Conan the Barbarian if fur clothed oiled mounds of muscle along with swords and sorcery is your thing
My suggestion is, when you watch Terminator 2, watch the "Special Edition" version. That's the only extended edition officially approved by James Cameron. And it has the theatrical ending which is the best ending.
I grew up with the theatrical version so I think that’s the best (must) version everybody should watch. But you’re right, if they can get manage to watch the special edition with the theatrical ending then it’s the best of both worlds.
Your funny and quirky and you make me smile, the only downside so far to finding your channel is there is only one other movie to watch lol. And your, "I'll be back" at the end was pretty good considering your not a middle aged Austrian man lmao.
I just found your channel today with the Good Will Hunting reaction and watched the other two as well. I used to manage another reaction channel and have spent quite a bit of time watching others, and I can say that you have a very good start here. I like how you're picking the movies so far. When you start with the Top 250, the odds of a bad movie are pretty low. I really like how you do a rough edit and then come back to finish the conclusion. So many comments talk about things they think you missed and very few realize the insane amount of time you have to spend cutting down the reaction for the YT edit. So coming back with new thoughts after that process is a great thing that most other channels do not have. Your edits are also very tight. You're not leaving scenes in that don't advance the plot or where your reaction isn't interesting.
@@Whimsory Since you're into shows so much, you might want to binge the TV show, "Terminator: the Sarah Connor Chronicles". And skip all of the other films after T2.
Whimsory, this is your second video that I watched; I just discovered you about an hour ago with your Monty Python and the Holy Grail video, and I subscribed right away. 😁 You are fun and sweet and interactive, and I think part of your charm is your "squirrel brain." I'm glad you watched this sci-fi thriller classic, and if you haven't watched it yet, I strongly recommend Terminator 2; it's one of those rare instances where the sequel is definitely better than the original. For another great Arnold movie, I highly recommend True Lies, a spy thriller/comedy that also stars the amazing Jamie Lee Curtis. Oh, and one other thing: I don't think you have to worry about anyone judging you for not wanting to watch a guy stick an exacto knife into his eye. 😁 I'm off to watch more of your videos!
The other thing about the photograph is Rees said "You looked a little sad, I always wondered what you were thinking about" and she was thinking about him.
You don’t talk too much or too fast for this. I love your summaries. Been binge watching your videos thru Christmas. I’ve watched a lot of reaction channels this year,…maybe too many. I am so impressed with yours. Your editing is perfect, I love your enthusiasm and that you get so many cultural references of my generation. Boombox, Mr. Rodgers, Black Sabbath’s Iron Man. So many, I am losing track. Also great that you go in blind, but you rewatch and research and touch on so many key things a lot of us were hoping you would notice. All of the above makes it rewarding watching with you. Oh, the wholesome nature is great too!! And so many good movie choices. I could go on.
That terminator that shoots those guns in the future is Arnold's friend and former IFBB Mr. Olympia Franco Columbu. Oh he also plays a small part in another of Arnold films Conan the Barbarian. He plays the scout in the beginning.
What is so sad is that when Kyle Reese told Sarah about the picture, he mentioned how sad Sarah looked. He said he used to always wonder what she was thinking about. Kyle had no idea that Sarah was thinking about him. 😢
Thank you so much for letting me experience this with you! You have a fun personality and it was a joy seeing this through your eyes. I look forward to watching the sequel with you.
new to the channel but I really like your energy and enjoy your reactions I know you are only going to get better and better with practice and am looking forward to seeing your grow keep it up :)
The sequel gets so much attention that I feel this movie gets overlooked. This is my favorite of the franchise and one of my favorite movies of the whole decade. It was made for less than $7 million (that wouldn’t even cover the catering on a modern big action film), and nobody thought it was going to have the impact it did. Michael Biehn in particular solidified himself as one of my favorite actors because of this performance. Obviously you need to check out T2, but there are some other Cameron 80s films you should look into as well. The Abyss is an underrated classic, and Aliens is amazing (though you need to watch Alien before you see that one). I’m liking your reactions so far, this is the first time I’ve caught a reaction channel right at the beginning of their career. Hope you keep it up!
Another one of my favourite films Excluding Genesis and Dark Fate, The Terminator timeline is a causal loop. Meaning the War is always inevitable and John will always send Kyle to ensure his existence that’s why he picked no one else when they volunteered.
Cool reaction. Since you asked so many times why the Terminator doesn't have eyebrows : he had at first. But when Reese blew-up the car just when he and Sarah were leaving the dance-club, The Terminators was caught in the explosion and the eyebrows were burned. I strongly recommend you watch the sequel, Terminator 2 - Judgement Day, it's even better : more character development, better story, much better effects (actually when it came out in 1991, Terminator 2 had revolutionary effects, the very beginning of movie CGI). T2 is an all-time classic, IMHO it's the best action movie ever made
Yes, he is wearing little foam latex eyebrow blockers right after his face gets burned. It’s a very subtle stage of damage, before his face starts getting ripped up.
I like that James decided to be very realistic with it. But it makes him look so weird and off putting. If he would have left the eyebrows I doubt anyone would have thought anything of it.
@@Kanglar Even with Fury Road, T2 remain on top. Yes, Fury Road has great actrion sequences but T2 has something Fury Road doesn't have and very few action movies have : a message, a question. T2 asks us what makes us different from machines.
The Terminator getting his eyebrows burned off from the fire 🔥 explosion just prior to punching 👊 through the windshield to grab Sarah Connor was a brilliant move on the makeup department. Having no eyebrows gives Arnold an eerie look. Like he's not quite human. Like an unstoppable Frankenstein monster vibe. -OG
What a coincidence! I was literally just checking to see if you posted anything today and just as I was leaving you posted this! It's a classic and Terminator 2 is one of my top 10 favorite films of all time!
@@Whimsory the special effects were bad for the time. When it was released people were like 'WTF, it looks kinda bad'. 40 years later that doesn't matter.
"I'll be back" is technically a Terminator 2 reference. But also it shows that the machines are smart enough to use conjunctions in their words. I.e. "I'll, we'll, we're."
This one is still my favorite! I know the second is amazing! But this one was more story focused! The special effects are old but remember, this movie was low budget! I always admired how they handled the Terminator puppet to make it as realistic as possible! And all team worked very hard to make this gold sci-fi movie!
Hehe this was such a fun reaction with the voices and how expressive you are. Such an enjoyable watch. Just found the channel but it looks like you have a great journey through cinema before you and I'm glad I can come along for the ride :)
Love the reaction. And yeah, one of the things with a fully analog phone system was that your phone call occupied one line. The system would route the call automatically, but in order for an office to have two phones with their own separate number, you needed to pay for two physical phone lines. That changed around the decade when we started getting dialup modems in every home: you didn't want that 45 minute download ruined because your dad lifted the phone somewhere else in the house. What I like about this movie is that the terminator is a machine. It doesn't get angry. It's not upset. It only follows its directive, and is perfectly OK with leaving people alive if that is more expedient. Oh, and the movie making is impressive indeed considering it was a low budget movie at the time (whike the sequel was one of the most expensive movies ever).
Your fast talking is great... Ps. Have you seen FireFly, and then Serenity? It's got the best of both worlds, tv..then movie, . And it's sci-fi. Sooo great✌️
One of my all-time favorites. Saw it in the theater when I was 16, and it's fun to see people from a new generation getting to experience it for the first time. Glad you enjoyed it too.

Someone might've said this already but his eyebrows got singed when he walked through the fire after Kyle blew up that car. Also remember Kyle said he wondered what Sarah was thinking about in the photo. As it turned out, she was thinking about him.
Ben hurr 1959 needs to be on your list if its not, one of the greatest films of all time it won 11 academy awards including best picture and best lead actor. No other film has won more.
16:16 It is weird. Lieutenant Traxler has a relatively small role in the movie, but a LOT of people get upset when he specifically gets killed, saying "I liked that guy".
Good to see people still enjoying this. Still holds up despite effects at times. Still I say this on all Terminator videos the original mono soundtrack is superior to the newer remastered soundtrack and effects. Only the special edition DVD has the mono track.

I'm glad you are watching some movies, when that epic scene unfolded with the terminator zeroing in on Sarah in the nightclub as Reece moved to intercept and you blurted out "Sarah Connor is a goner" I lost it, hope you have some more coming out soon
I know you’ll probably watch Terminator two now, but you do need to know that there are many people who considers to be one of those series where the sequel is as good or better than the original so if you can imagine a movie that was super see this you’ll understand how good the second one is
Choosing between 1 or 2 is difficult. 2 was a broad-appeal summer blockbuster action movie, whereas 1 was a low budget horror B-movie. I personally prefer 1 but won't argue somebody on it, haha.
It's kind of funny that Cameron has done the "sequel is as good or better than the original" twice, with T2 and Aliens (possibly a third time with Avatar, but I haven't seen the new one so I can't speak on that one). Not saying one or the other is better, just that it's weird that happened twice (possibly thrice) from the same director no less when the general rule of thumb is that the sequels are worse.
For some reason I find it so hard to believe all these RUclipsrs that do these movie reviews, have NEVER seen these huge pop-culture movies. Maybe because I see today with how easy it is for everyone to find just about anything on the internet, which is also on their phones that they carry everywhere. When I was growing up, there was no internet so we played outside, did sports, watched tv, or went to the movies, that pretty much sums it up, and I grew up watching all these movies at the theaters, which takes up more time to go and watch, then sitting at home matching. I mostly don't get how some people haven't watched the movies where all the pop references come from. There are cartoons that even bring up these movies over and over again. I couldn't imagine not understanding references everyone was talking about.
I started my new job 4 months ago and there are people working there that are younger and older then me and none of them ever heard of The Terminator. I first saw the movie in 1994 when i was 8 years old. Still my favorit and since then i have watched it 256 times never gets old.

I have a suggestion for your channel if you dont mind: Try to mix movies from your list of the greatest ones, with those kind of movies that are considered “hidden gems”. Movies that are great but for some reason were forgotten in time. Believe me, there are many of them, and watching those will give a plus to your channel, because you wont fit in the group of youtubers that react to the same movies every time, like they were agreed to do it. Just watch whatever you want in the moment without paying attention to what others youtubers watch every month. Outliners are always appretiated. 😊
I like this reaction, especially your little "voice-overs" were really funny and I don't mind if you keep them in next movie reaction. I will wait for your next pick from the list, have a nice day 🙂
It's really cool to watch you dive into these older movies, so I really hope you continue. I understand what you mean about preferring the long medium of television, which allows more time for characters to breathe and stories to develop. But plenty of the movies on this list have both. Some are masterpieces. My personal favorites are Apocalypse Now, Blade Runner, and Out of Africa.
That's why I liked the sarah connor chronicles. I disliked some things it has in common with the sequels but because of the episodic nature it had time to develop characters and it's probably the best terminator sequel

I love your reaction to this movie, it really brought me back to the first time i saw it as a kid in the theaters. It wasn't a big budget film but the poster looked so good that my older brother took me to see it. I vividly remember having to walk home afterwards at night because we'd spent our bus money on arcade games. We got stuck in a downpour with lightning flashing and stopped under an overpass to wait it out. We dissected the movie and the ramifications/aftermath and even hypothesised what eventually became the plot of the second movie. Great memory of my childhood.

Because apparently they sound more convincing in audio than real skulls.
Um, I mean more obtainable. Um. Whatever. 😮
Terminator lost his eyebrows when he jumped through the fire when he was chasing them out of the nightclub. They were singed off, along with some of his hair.
hands down this best reaction to this movie
Conan the Barbarian if fur clothed oiled mounds of muscle along with swords and sorcery is your thing
you're goddamn right about that.
2023 does suck. But at least KANE LIVES IN DEATH.
go cry Moorman because time has f****** beat you down
Funny my fav part is in the gun shop when he asks for a plasma cannon, in the 1980s lol.
My suggestion is, when you watch Terminator 2, watch the "Special Edition" version. That's the only extended edition officially approved by James Cameron. And it has the theatrical ending which is the best ending.
I liked the extra scenes besides the ending. I hated that ending
@@micperez819 The SE has the theatrical ending, not the original longer ending that test audiences hated, that is called the Skynet Edition.
As long as it's not the one with Linda Hamilton in 'old' make-up. That one is cheesy.
I grew up with the theatrical version so I think that’s the best (must) version everybody should watch. But you’re right, if they can get manage to watch the special edition with the theatrical ending then it’s the best of both worlds.
@@Jpew2007 Special Edition has the theatrical ending. Other long versions add the "old Sarah" ending.
WOW. Thank you so much for this. Very knowledgeable and encouraging! I appreciate you😊
@@Whimsory Since you're into shows so much, you might want to binge the TV show, "Terminator: the Sarah Connor Chronicles". And skip all of the other films after T2.
One of the punks in the beginning was played by Bill Paxton. The only actor to be killed by a Terminator, an Alien, and a Predator.
I wish all reactors would do what you just did with the rough edit and rewatch before the outro/review. Nice job. Thank you.
give my word that I will not judge you and always look forward to many of these videos on movies .
Whimsory, this is your second video that I watched; I just discovered you about an hour ago with your Monty Python and the Holy Grail video, and I subscribed right away. 😁 You are fun and sweet and interactive, and I think part of your charm is your "squirrel brain."
I'm glad you watched this sci-fi thriller classic, and if you haven't watched it yet, I strongly recommend Terminator 2; it's one of those rare instances where the sequel is definitely better than the original. 😁
I'm off to watch more of your videos!
Your reactions are always a blast. You're much better at than you think you are!
great reaction....i think you will be a massive youtube star...good luck
I love that Reese wondered what she was thinking about in the picture, and, as it turns out, she was thinking about him.
You're friggin hilarious! So...I had to subscribe... nicely done!
“Sarah Conner is a goner” 🎶 🎵
Didn’t know you had rhymes
The other thing about the photograph is Rees said "You looked a little sad, I always wondered what you were thinking about" and she was thinking about him.
I like when you said "I´ll be back" at the end :)
Always love discovering new YT reviewers. Love your reactions so far. Keep it up :)
"I hope you got the right person, 'cause all the other ones are dead." - LEGIT LOL
What is so sad is that when Kyle Reese told Sarah about the picture, he mentioned how sad Sarah looked. He said he used to always wonder what she was thinking about. Kyle had no idea that Sarah was thinking about him. 😢
"Where's your helmet?" It's the 80s sweetheart, she has enough lacquer on her hair, her head is almost certainly bullet-proof.
That and there were no helmet or seat belt laws in California until years after this was made.
Nice reaction. Keep going, you're doing great. Yes, he had eyebrows. They burned off in fire from the car explosion when Reese shot the gas tank.
Whimsory is going to be a YT star ⭐
Another one of my favourite films
Excluding Genesis and Dark Fate, The Terminator timeline is a causal loop. Meaning the War is always inevitable and John will always send Kyle to ensure his existence that’s why he picked no one else when they volunteered.
She is so nice with her intro love it.
"Where's your helmet?"... May I present you: The Eighties
Plus his hair gets burned/singed and is shorter too, but it's not as noticeable
I would agree T2 is the best action movie only if Fury Road didn't exist.
Aww thank you so much!! I appreciate ya😁
@@Whimsory the special effects were bad for the time. When it was released people were like 'WTF, it looks kinda bad'. 40 years later that doesn't matter.
I couldn't stop laughing when you swayed your arms around saying I can't do it. LOL
New creator?
I like your stuff.
Keep it coming. 👍
"I'll be back" is technically a Terminator 2 reference. But also it shows that the machines are smart enough to use conjunctions in their words. I.e. "I'll, we'll, we're."
top tier editing and reaction, keep it up
That's not a dream, that's how Reece got the scars on his back. >7:06 Classic character development. They don't make 'em like this anymore.
15:50: "Well at least for once he didn't kill anybody!"
Five seconds later: "Oh wow."
Classic.
I got to meet Micheal Biehn at a Comic-Con. He was so cool and down to earth. This is definitely his best role.
just found ur channel by chance, keep it up ur gonna do well :)
This one is still my favorite! I know the second is amazing! But this one was more story focused! The special effects are old but remember, this movie was low budget! I always admired how they handled the Terminator puppet to make it as realistic as possible! And all team worked very hard to make this gold sci-fi movie!
Good reaction video loved it ❤️
"Put that cookie down! Now!" -Arnold
😜👊
Hehe this was such a fun reaction with the voices and how expressive you are. Such an enjoyable watch. Just found the channel but it looks like you have a great journey through cinema before you and I'm glad I can come along for the ride :)
Who else recognized Bill Paxton in one of his earliest appearances?
I like you kid! Im hooked! Subbed. 🇨🇦❤️🇨🇦
Cool hat girl saying "I'll be back " 🤣 love it.
Whimsory your'e awsome! 😉👍🏼
You are a natural at reaction videos.
Excellent reaction! It's truly a time capsule of the 80s and one of the best films ever.
Sooo great✌️
This movie ranked at #82 in the 100 scariest movie moments on Bravo
One of my all-time favorites. Saw it in the theater when I was 16, and it's fun to see people from a new generation getting to experience it for the first time. Glad you enjoyed it too.
I just found your channel today and I love your videos! You seem really sweet and I loved your appreciation to the film and the small details!
What a treat to see this gem of a movie for the first time! You're in for a ride and a half. :)
i always thought it was a pretty beautiful love story at the heart of this movie.. "i crossed time for you sarah" is a pretty good line, you gotta admit
This is a very good chanel. You put a lot of work into your "reviews". And its realy interesting to see, and hear, how you, as a young person, experience this old classics. Great work. and of course: Im an instant subscriber!
Don't be ashamed of where you know Arnie from, those you listed are all bangers.
"What killed the Dinosaurs? ...The ice age!" killer line, peak cinema.
It was so much fun finding someone who legitimately didn't know much about this movie. Other reactors have seen so many memes or other social media about movies that it seems like they've seen the movie. That was not the case with your reaction. If you're like this with all the other movies, I'm going to be coming back over and over. I really enjoyed your reaction. :)
Someone might've said this already but his eyebrows got singed when he walked through the fire after Kyle blew up that car.
Also remember Kyle said he wondered what Sarah was thinking about in the photo. As it turned out, she was thinking about him.
You're fantastic. Keep doing these reactions. Love that you do a post review and that you take notes.
They shouldn't have deleted his last scene with Reese..
Paul Winfield was an incredible character actor, and always infused quiet humanity in any part he played. He is missed.
The part with the cigarette is really funny, if you know which scene I mean.
@@davidsavage5630 Yes i think it was that scene where he starts to understand that what Sarah and Reese say is true about the T-800
Good to see people still enjoying this. Still holds up despite effects at times. Still I say this on all Terminator videos the original mono soundtrack is superior to the newer remastered soundtrack and effects. Only the special edition DVD has the mono track.
Will you continue your channel with more reactions or your TikTok content? If reactions, i'm totally in. Unlike many reactors, you don't seem to have a lot of pretension about you, and you don't spend half the video promoting yourself. You seem very genuine and enjoyable. Anyway, hope you do more!
I enjoy your Reaction! The way you are - don't ever Change - I love it!!
Excellent reaction. These kinds of reactions with people who aren't really into watching movies as their main form of entertainment are the best.
I see that this channel is starting with the reactions so I'll be watching for future ones.
Gurl, you are on point. Sorry for the double comment. I look forward to your terminator 2 comments so much. Also I liked and subscribed :)
I'm glad you are watching some movies, when that epic scene unfolded with the terminator zeroing in on Sarah in the nightclub as Reece moved to intercept and you blurted out "Sarah Connor is a goner" I lost it, hope you have some more coming out soon
This was a wonderful reaction. I loved it!
Can't wait for future reactions
"I'll have something bad to say about the 2nd one."
She has know idea, lol. Can't wait to see her reaction to it. 🙂
Loved your reaction, can't wait to see more!
Terminator: “I’ll be Back.."
Whimsory: "At least he didn’t kill anybody this time"…
Me:😂😂😂😂😂😂
Enjoyed you very much👍🏽
I know you’ll probably watch Terminator two now, but you do need to know that there are many people who considers to be one of those series where the sequel is as good or better than the original so if you can imagine a movie that was super see this you’ll understand how good the second one is
Choosing between 1 or 2 is difficult.
And then you have the movies that were so awful, they're downright awesome in their own way. Plan 9 from Outer Space comes to mind.
@@bulanet271 Cersei Lannister was an awesome Sarah Connor!
Great reaction! I hope you keep doing these classics! "Holy Grail" was fun too! I see you are HUGE on TikTok, are you going to keep doing those? Maybe move some of those here as "shorts"? You are a gifted creator and I will keep watching.👍👍😉
When she said that she knew Arnie from those comedy films, I grinned at the inevitable shock to come.
