    Dude this video just helped saved our backsides! The check engine light started flashing last night, and after panicking, my husband and I ran some diagnostics, bought the $85 coil for the misfire in #2.. watched your video 7x, paused it and played it, and TA DA!! We are mobile and it's running better than it has in a year! Thank you! We couldn't have done it without this video!! If you ever feel unimportant if life.. atleast you know you saved a family off the side of the road! ❤

    I'm glad you mention that this Escape Gen 1 engine is also in the 2008 Escape which is the first year of Gen 2 (2008-2012). The Gen 2 engine has VVT (Ford i-VCT) which has a history of problems. I have the 2008 Escape and prefer this engine in spite of less horsepower.

    Doing this job is a good opportunity to replace the PCV valve which is normally hard to get to.

    Excellent Video! Saves a lot of time and trepidation.
    I do have a question:
    I replaced all of my plugs and coils. All was well for about a week then I started getting misfire codes on cylinder 1; I’m suspecting a bad wire in the harness. If true, where could I get a new harness? What are the issues in installing?

    • @TheGaginator
      @TheGaginator  2 года назад +1

      Thank you for the kind words. I would say, switch the coil pack to another cylinder first just to make sure the new coil isnt bad, then do a compression test, After that you can check the harness, The pigtail for the ignition coil packs and injectors can be purchased, but no one makes a complete harness, it would have to be traced and repaired

      That’s exactly what I ended up doing.
      On my 2001 Ford Escape, Ford tells me that the harness is now obsolete. I was hoping to replace it, if possible, Logic being that if one wire is wonky, the rest are likely not too far behind. It would be reassuring to just replace the the entire leg or harness and call it a day.
      I was hoping to find a source that sells/fabricates wiring harnesses but have had no luck whatsoever. If you happen to know of one I’d relish knowing.

    What brand of ignition coils you recommend? I have an 04 Mazda tribute V6. Similar build to the escapes I hear

    So my problem is i have the same escape and my igniton coil pack on primary secondary circuit is messed up im not sure what tht means and which coils those are

    • @TheGaginator
      @TheGaginator  11 месяцев назад

      This may be a wiring issue, not a coil pack problem. Coil packs do not throw circuit codes typically. They cause misfire codes.

    Torque spec is important or you'll snap those intake bolts. Don't ask :)

    What are the signs of a Bad coil? 🤔 🤔 I have a Escape 2005 V6, at 45mph star shaking or kicking really bad, after slow down a few times I can go over 60mph without any problem.

    • @TheGaginator
      @TheGaginator  Год назад +1

      with a bad ignition coil, you will certainly have a check engine light on for a specific cylinder. Dont overlook a fuel issue also. Make sure you properly test all systems before wasting money on parts!

    • @munsh4able
      @munsh4able Год назад

      @@TheGaginator thanks for your prompt response. Is no check engine light or any other, the mechanic checked the computer with a scanner and no codes at all just the many kicks over 45mph. Mechanic said is the coil pack but the notice is no pack, just 6 coils
