To be honest, I think you should listen to Arca’s self titled album before you go on with the rest of kicks, even if you don’t do a video on it. It’s a nice way to understand where she was mentally before she transitioned, this album is very personal and heavy, and contains some of the more fleshed out songs she’s made. I highly suggest listening to it to really see how her music changed after she transitioned, this kick stuff is alot more confident.
I dont agree with this at all. Arca's self titled is way less mainstream than Kick 3 or 4. He has all ready gone through Kick 1 and 2, it would be weird to interrupt the flow. Also knowing his personal taste in music I feel like he would really appreciate Kick 4 and be fascinated by Kick 3
I know Arca fans love Self titled a lot, and for good reason. But the entire album can be a bit depressing, which I worry might not be the right vibe to get into until after finishing the Kick series if he really wants to.
@@The_bleak_boy i agree with u like, might as well complete the kick series now, i know for a fact luscent is gonna really enjoy kick iiii and kick iiiii, and at least be surprised by how electronic and out of the box kick iii is
Here’s the thing, I actually agree with you guys… This point it’s too late to turn back, however I do believe Arca albums should really be experience from beginning to end. From before she had vocals in Xen, to mutant, to self titled and then how she blossomed in Kicks. So yeah I said this point, Keep going… However the story is a bit confusing when you come in in the middle
I feel that Arcas interpretation redefines an idea of pop/ sound, it goes beyond what sound and music should sound like. The story is the sound production and engineering. It’s perhaps a raw display of emotions and feelings in a way that isn’t traditional. Like anything we know, constructs that are bent and warped redefine how he perceive these things. Kick II is a great curation of the journey she’s had with her sound, apart from kick i. The rest of the kicks continue to experiment and deconstruct this universe she creates. Really one of the most inovative produces artist along with Sophie
The thought process behind araña is so fascinating to me Arca explains, Araña is harsh and wonky with beats that skitter like the legs of a spider. One part represents “when the spider is eating you, sucking your liquids”, and the a cappella section at the end is “all of Arca’s multiple personalities singing at once.”
DICTIONARY OF LATIN TERMS: Rakata: means having sex Gringos: tourists white people with money. Guero: white people with blonde hair usually tourists. Bujarra: gay ( in a offensive way)
gringos: anglo-white people (doesn’t necessarily mean that they have money, but it’s a word typically used to refer to white people from english-speaking nations) guero: just means white person with light hair, is more inclusive of other white ethnicities (ex: white people from europe & latin america.)
ok, so to wrap it up! - doña has a excerpt of "apuro", from a mix she made, it's the reading part of the "hello everybody, to those whom may be interested" it's from a book called babylon-17 - prada: bujarras is a common word to refer to gay people in venezuela (not a slur tho) - tiro: she mentions the Venezuela states "Tucupita Yaracuy Lara Miranda Zulia Carabobo Bombo Bolívar Tucupita Yaracuy Puya Guárico Cojedes Táchira Amazonas Delta Amacuro and Monagas" - lethargy is more of a vibe, she describes it as to be in a high mood because of a blunt "she says at the end distorted uno verde (a green one) - muñecas is actually a mix of the vocals she made for a track called "ráfaga", it is more of a chant to trans women (that's the meaning of muñecas, just like "dolls") - confianza (trust) talks about the trust issues as a trans woman having sex, it has these sexual lyrics but she talks them as if she doesn't feel too much comfortable, the instrumental makes it contrast it to have the feeling of being comfortable and actually at the end of the track trusting this partner she has
Commenting to emphasize the other points about her self-titled album. I have a feeling it might be one of your favs. If you continue with the Kicks, I can assure you that they're all insanely insanely different. Since you've heard KiCk i and KICK ii, I can assure you that the best is yet to come... Side Note: The chorus of "Tiro" is essentially an homage to all the Venezuelan states since that's where she's from! :)
Hi, Luscent: I recently discovered your channel and love the way you analyze and react to albums, songs and music. 😍 I've seen the videos where you react to Arca's albums and I really liked your interpretations. 😜 I'd love to see your reaction to the other Arca albums, especially the Kick series. A big greeting from Barcelona, Spain. 😘
PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE consider listening to “Dawn of Chromatica” (the remixed version of “Chromatica” by Lady Gaga). It’s basically a better version, IMO, of the album, where Gaga hands over the songs to be remixed by smaller, mostly LGBTQ+ musicians to be remixed. It features many artists you’ve already reacted to as well as many others: ARCA, CharliXCX, Rina, Dorian Electra, Bree Runway, Pabllo Vittar, and more! 💗💚
You should try listening to Arcas album “Xen” Which I think might be her debut album? I don’t remember any singing in the album but only ambient instrumentals
Rakata means having sex .. but it could be dificult to translate because its a slur. And actually its a reference to the song "rakata" by wisin and yandel... iconic song the begining of reggeaton
those words you didn't get on Tiro were just Venezuelan states. I also think you should definitely listen to Arca (self title) before getting into anything else from her
I love your reactions to these albums! They're my favorite part of the day. Kick 2 is definitely more abstract compared to Arcas other works. I can see you being blown away by Kick 3 and emotionally moved by Kick 4 based on the albums you seem to connect with on your channel. Please keep at it! Trust every Kick is different.
People say Kick 3 is the best but I personally love the more emotional side of Arca so Kick 4 is my favorite. If you liked the more calming tracks on Sophies album, you'll appreciate that one for sure.
please react to pabllo vittar's album 111, she is a brazilian drag queen, singer and presenter and also the most followed drag on social media worldwide, she has a song with charli xcx on this album
I really love kick ii, just the mix of reggaeton and atmospheric stuff is very nice. I’m not too fond of Confianza but otherwise it’s so cool to me, but yes 100% difficult to get into hahaha.
The harsh sound in Dona is sampled from the killing sound in among us lmfao Also: Arca has described Arana as taking you through the process of a spider seducing you and then consuming you, deconstructing your being, or conceived identity, with the structure of the song following it's eight legs. I imagine the track as Arca fucking the shit out of you, with Femme being a humbling experience bowing down to the divine energy she just inserted into you, while Munecas follows up with an appreciation from Arca's end with her thanking her fans and affirming to them that this relationship she has founded is a personal, intimate, and honest one, softening her overwhelmingness and reassuring that this journey is one of learning and she's just carrying you through the experience of deconstruction, she respects you just as much as she's learned to respect her own experience, and none of this has ever been exploitive or inauthentic: its an artistic integrity and compassion that i feel really has been lost in the mainstream of modern art; and she then let's you go to be your own and to no longer attach yourself to any idealization or ownership of what she has given you, because you are your own being and experience that you need to appreciate yourself -- it's like a breakup song that is purely compassionate and detached, it's not bitter or resentful, its confidently compassionate she rly be a spiritual figure tbh -- and i mean that in the most grounded, unidealized, and humble way possible and on a side note: munecas and confianza are literally such insane songs...like nothing else sounds like it. like its literally a novella dialogue and vocal delivery over composition.

Tiro is arca singing about Venezuela basically
Araña is one of the best songs I've heard. Its like listening to an actual spider speaking, singing.
Sublime, just sublime.

Literally Arca is experimental artist, a completely different genre from hyperpop, so u cannot miss it. Just let yall know
i9bonsai is more experimental than arca lol arca sucks
@@dxnicule i know she's not the best experimental producer but i just said the truth, " arca is not hyperpop mysic producer like what he said "

Born Yesterday is a song that SIA wrote for Katy Perry a few years ago but she declined it and then SIA sold it to Arca
