My husband and I live in an 892 square foot apartment so my cleaning time and routine is probably different from someone who owns a single family home. Also, I am 59 and my husband is 60, and we have no kids living with us. We both were married previously and I have no kids of my own and my stepson is 25 and has never lived with us and so I have really never had to clean up after him other than extra dishes or cleaning the bathroom after he had visitation time with his dad. I would still guess that I spend several hours each week doing various cleaning tasks and I will wash at least one to two smaller loads of laundry each day. I don't know what they specifically mean by a deeper clean, but for me personally, when I think of doing deeper cleaning it involves more thorough and detailed cleaning like pulling out the stove and refrigerator to clean the floors underneath. It can be things like taking items out of the cabinets and wiping down the shelves and cabinet doors. It can be doing things like cleaning the entire inside of the refrigerator, etc. And I would guess that I do those types of cleaning tasks on a monthly or bi-monthly basis (some chores get done more regularly than others). And as far as arguing over household cleanliness ~~ we absolutely do not!! My husband simply does not care about household chores. I on the other hand definitely care because if my house is messy or things are out of place it negatively affects my mental health. But I do not work so it is pretty easy to find time to do chores and stay on top of everything. And besides ~~ life is way to short to argue over household cleanliness. You honestly have to pick and choose your battles and this is just one that I personally choose not to wage war with. My personal pet peeve is when my husband will take a jacket off a hanger to wear outside and then when he comes back in, rather than hanging it back up again he will just throw it into a corner in the living room. This is okay if he is going to wear the same coat in an hour, but if he is done wearing it for the day then take the extra few seconds and hang it back up and put it away. I feel like I am regularly picking up his jacket and hanging it back up. But again, I just grin and bear it because it isn't worth the mental energy to argue about it. And I also know my husband well enough to realize that he will eventually just go back to throwing the jacket into a corner.

Michelle, Praying for you and your family as you go through these difficult situations. We were in our late fifties and were moving 3 hours away when we sold our house and buying another house. The people buying our home were having problems with their financing and it came down to about an hour before closing whether or not we would close. We only had I don’t think it was a week to move and the people we were buying from had to move too. Whew! So stressful even though are children were grown, we were just so thankful it worked out! Your situation will work out too. 😊❤😊🙏

We had to find a place to live until our house was built with two small children. I packed only two weeks' worth of clothes for myself, and my husband and children packed everything in storage. Keept a sleeper sofa for the children, a mattress for my husband and I, and we were able to lease an apartment for 3 months... month to month. We never foucused on the cleaning we wprked together and did what we could and kept living life. Enjoy your life and focus on what matters in your relationship with you family. Enjoy life. Great video. Have a great day!

I would save for vacation packing maybe put those items in a box labeled and in the front of your storage unit so you can grab it when needed.i would say for when you relocate take enough for a few weeks and then anything you may need (clothing, etc) make sure it's in the front of your storage unit. Anything big (furniture) you won't need can be placed in the back.
Another way to think of it as you move around till you settle into your home is to pack as if you are going on vacation and just take what you need.

Fantastic cleaning motivation again ! If you need to declutter things I struggle to discard like the nicer paper clutter (magazines/catalogues and even just some clothes stores junk mail) or mostly any old clothes you have that can't be donated during the moving process, I hope you'll film it as it's something we don't see often get thrown in the trash during cleaning/declutter videos, but they're by far my biggest struggle so I'm always seeking for motivation.

We have done moves like this a few times. We are a military family so we have to pack up and send our household goods ahead of time and pack what we might need for a month or two without all of our stuff. I could write you a book of what to do and what not to do but my best advice would be to read a few military spouse blogs about moving. You can find a lot of them on Pinterest but they will break down the best way to do it. I would be glad to give you some ideas if you don’t have time to go searching for the info.

Hey friend! If your mom has the space, I would pack your vacation stuff at her place so it’s readily available. Having a couple of bins is perfect for your pantry stuff and paper goods. I’m so sorry you’re having to move twice. It’s not fun, but will be worth it!
For the microwave, maybe you could do lemon in water to help with the smell. Also, maybe just leaving the door open when not in use to let it air out

My sister rented an apartment month to month and put everything in storage except what she needed. Minimum furniture, TV, beds and the rest in storage. She used paper plates and plastic utensils. She kept a couple of pans for cooking. Had minimum clothing. Her house took about 9 months to complete. It worked for her.

Hi! I really hope your read my comment and maybe can take some time to reply. Sorry for the long massage!
I love your videos! Just recently watched one of your marathon videos. I'm going thru a difficult time and your words truly inspired me!
About moving tips: I move every year and sometimes I have to move into a temporary place. I have no family, just my partner and my 4 animals. And that can be really stressful! There have been times when we were homeless and needed to stay on a hot or really cold day outside with our stuff and animals.
For all the people: don't judge a person, you don't know what there going thru!
We are getting better with the moving from place to place.
We have quite a lot of stuff and most will always be in boxes because we need te move every year.
I pack the things what we don't need al the time first, drive that to a storage place and stack the boxes, I label with colors wich are heavy and not heavy. Because when you're in a rush it's the fastest strategie not to damage any boxes.
I never throw away old clothes, I use them to full up boxes zo they hold there consistency while moving. It also helps to have many boxes of the same size.
Keep in mind when you storage your stuff and you're not sure if you need the stuff that you set those boxes on the front of the storage. There have been many times I needed stuff and it was at the back of the storage (not really helpful and quiet stressful). And I can't handle stress very well, so it take measurements to keep it as less stressful as possible.
Pack the lasts stuff at last, but in time to reduce stress.
About clothing: I use boxes and pack enough, old and new clothes. And I wear old clothes while moving that's comfortable to wear or clean.
On tje moving day I use 1 suitcase and bag for clothes for 2/3 days that I can easily find when we have moved.
When moving I don't have the time to bring the boxes directly to the room where they belong. So I try to quickly organize the boxes in 1 room, try not to do that in the living room, but a small room. This gives you more peace when your finally done moving your stuff.
And your not stressed when you need to work the next day ( I work from home).
And the most important thing: give yourself a break when you moved. Just set up the beds and thing you want/need to set up (I sleep every day on a deflateble bed I don't have a normal bed, so setting it up is quiet easily.
And don't try to rush in the couple of days to put up al your stuff. Take it day by day, you don't have to do it once at all.
About the animals. I keep al there stuff together and won't move that until the end. I take them when everything has moved and let them in the whole house (the old house) with cameras so they can play, if I let them only in one room they get anxiety.
At the days before or the day when you need to give the keys, take a couple of boxes and bags to put in the last couple of belongins, like thing you accidently forgot or lamps.
Don't forget some cleaning stuff, toilet rolls and some tools.
When you get overwhelmed, take a break, walk outside and get some fresh air. And don't forget to eat, you might get forgetful if you haven't eaten properly.
When I go to the old house I make sure my animals are in a room with no boxes or stuff thay can fall and I always set up a camera so I can always know they are good.
And one extra note: always let your animals know what's happening. If you have an animal who gets anxious easy, give here some extra love. But don't overexatriate, that can feed the anxiety. Just let them know it OK!
I hope these tips will help you and others!

That you so much for all the great tips! Moving every year can be stressful but it looks like you have a good strategy down. I’m definitely going to take your advice of taking it day by day. I know I’ll want to get it all done in the first few days but it will be overwhelming. I also like the tip to just unpack in a smaller room! Thanks so much!

My first time watching. Thanks for the video. Oh my yes! We put our house on the market in December ( slow month I know). We had 3 offers and accepted on February 14. It was stressful because we had to sell our house before buying the one we bought. It did all work out though. We lived at our other place for years! Loving our new one and we are staying! 😬 Good luck with everything. We packed as much as we could and rented a big storage unit a couple of blocks from our new house, since it’s a different town. We stayed a couple days after closing and moved into our new place a couple days before that closing. But we thought we were going to have to rent a hotel ( it’s just my husband and myself) for about a week.

Hey Friend, Happy Saturday. I have definitely made Mac and cheese without adding water luckily it didn’t catch on fire. 😅😢 you’re doing so much at one time and it’s okay to feel overwhelmed. The good thing is that it didn’t catch everything on fire but we all make mistakes. 😊❤ I feel like most people fight over housework because both partners have busy lives. They might not have the time to do housework on top of their normal jobs so they have fight over who should do it. I think housework should be team worked especially if both partners work. 😊 I feel like most people strive to deep clean their house at least five times a month but sometimes that doesn’t always happen because of their busy lives. I would say most people do an avaerage of 2-3 deep cleans and 7 regular cleaning. 😅❤

You can begin steam cleaning your microwave by heating one cup of water in a microwave-safe bowl for 3 to 4 minutes. You can try adding a tablespoon of vinegar or lemon juice to the water before heating to neutralize the odor. Once you have done this initial step, use a non abrasive sponge or clean cloth in water with dish soap and clean the entire microwave. Make sure that you remove all of the soap residue completely and soak up any remaining water with a clean, dry cloth. Leave the microwave door open to air dry for at least 2 hours. If the burnt smell remains after completing all of the above steps, you can try to deodorize your microwave overnight by placing either an open box of baking soda or one cup of dry coffee grounds inside of your microwave before you go to bed. Just be sure that you or your husband do not use the microwave while it is being deodorized and before removing the baking soda or coffee grounds.

I would get together 10 days of clothes for each person and the other clothes needed for vacation. The shoes, bathing suits, towels, accessories and all and put into one place to take with me. If you take a cooler on vacation pack some of the things in the cooler, You should be fine to wash once a week and have enough things to get you thru until you get moved. Then pack everything else away and put into storage. And you know you will have to have some toys for the little ones. I’d probably use a large tote per person to keep it somewhat organized. And probably another just for toiletries and accessories and another for toys. It’ll be a juggle but you will do it.

We lived in our old house 23 years. Raised two daughters. And our attic was packed. That was the first thing my husband started cleaning. I don’t help a lot with that. He would bring things down and I would figure out who’s it could be. Most of it was my youngest daughter’s. She doesn’t like to get rid of anything. Just like her dad. We donated I don’t know how much to Goodwill. We sold our house to a realtor. And we moved from Ohio to Georgia. We stayed with our older daughter and her family. It was her, my son in law and five kids. Plus us, and our three dogs. And they had a dog too. It was crazy. We bought some land. And we put a manufactured home on it. That took a year. We left our daughter’s house, and stayed in two different hotels, with three small dogs. It was not fun. And we were broke from paying extra for the dogs. We was just terrible. Our house was on the land a few months before they even gave us the keys. And the guy who did wasn’t supposed to. We bought a tent and were camping out on our land. I think he felt sorry for us. We lived like pioneers for two months. We couldn’t get power. We had to use a stepladder to get in and out of the house, with three dogs. We had someone build us a small front and back porch. And we have a water tank we use with two smaller tanks my husband puts in the bigger one when we get low. But I love it here. I would move to flat land if I could find it. We have one neighbor, he’s an older gentleman. And on the other side is a dilapidated mobile home. The people who lived there were cooking and selling meth. They went to prison. That was before we moved here. But the dilapidated trailer is still there. It’s looks really bad. But a woman owned the land and the trailer was in someone else’s name. So they can’t do anything with it. Someone bought the lot at a tax sale. But my husband checked and it’s back in the ladies name again. We live out in the country. Most of the time no one bothers you. There are some loud cars and motorcycles sometimes. Be we live at the end of the street that is paved. The other end of our street isn’t even paved. Someone who lived down there and must own a lot of land liked it that way. So most people come out at our end of the street. That’s living in the country in Georgia for you.
