Nona just so happened to do the special illustrations for KOF XIII, that definitely is quite the significant improvement considering how mediocre his artwork for KOF 2001 & 2002 was.

He's not the worst in the game. That honor goes to Dictator. He's still pretty bad, though.
This game was underrated as hell. Had a lot of gems and references. (pretty lengthy, bear with me)

Dan got new moves, buffs and his Raging demon did mad damage and had no adverse affects on him.

Lastly I say Blockade Space is hands down my favorite bgm of the game. Factory Abandoned is a close second and Guardian Dogs Temple is a close third.

All SNK fans are very disappointed that this game does not have the height of CVS2.
SVC is not a bad game, it has a good roster, it is graphically true to SNK, and even the playability of the Capcom characters has been very well adapted to the SNK style (art style looks great for me).
However, the presentation of the game (select char screen) is very poor, the stages have no charm and the music is very muted. Besides that, it practically does not have any alternative game mode.
Edit: Can't even choose Extra / Advance modes, or different "Grooves" systems; can't choose single player, tag system, or group by turns... pls... from KOF series, really?. To top it all, the SNK characters do not run, but they do dash, thus removing something characteristic of the SNK style.
It is a real shame.
I wish Max would play games like KOF '98, '96 or 2002 UM to know more about what SNK was capable of.

To this day, I still feel like SNK vs Capcom: SVC Chaos is what happens when you take a legit surreal dream and turn it into a fighting game. There's a strange dream like quality to it all that even seems to transcend its dream game nature.

I loved playing this game in arcade. Violent Ken was a beast, and the button layout meant that you could pull out Akuma's Raging Demon incredibly quickly.
Not SNK's best crossover, but it's completely understandable since they weren't financially well off at that point in time. Hopefully they consider a NeoGeo Battle Coliseum 2. Now, THAT was an awesome SNK crossover with their own franchises.

I love watching Max's face when he plays this game, it's just hilarious, but probably accurate to what most people look like when they play games like this.
One thing I always really liked about SVC Chaos is it has 2 broken S-tier characters; one on the Capcom side (Zero) and one on the SNK side (Geese). Now THAT'S fairness!

This game's hard as balls fighting the arcade mode, no matter what difficulty. But it's so pretty, and really fun when you're into it.

I don’t think he’ll ever do it because if I’m not mistaken the only way to get to him is to make it to the end without continuing. As cheap as the CPU is in this game, it’s next to impossible.
Deathscythe 915 It's weirder than that. The requirement is, you can't lose a round throughout the run, You can, however, continue, so you can throw the fight if you lose one round, so long as you win 2-0.

SNK was supposed to release this on the PS2 but they didn't in the US.
I've been waiting for SVC Chaos since then.
Hopefully SNK and Capcom can work out a collection that has:
- Capcom vs. SNK Pro
- Capcom vs. SNK 2
- SVC Chaos
...on 1 disc, GGPO, HD graphics, etc.
Every day i dream with that.

We did get the Xbox version here. Same with Metal Slug 3 and Samurai Shodown V.
@@NewGabeOrder I'm aware. But back in 2004 (I think it was) they announced SVC Chaos for the US PS2 and then suddenly canceled it for the PS2 and it got released on the Xbox.
I think it was due to SCEA (Sony Computer Entertainment America) and their policy on 2D games supposedly. I heard back then they required at least 2 games bundled or something to get a release in the US.
But SCEA is no longer a company and they changed to something else, and on top of that, 2D fighting games are more and more popular these days so I think on the PS4 it would be nice if Capcom and SNK worked together to bring us (on disc) a collection consisting of:
- Capcom vs. SNK Pro
- Capcom vs. SNK 2
- SVC Chaos: SNK Vs. Capcom
It'd be nice if it had trophies, GGPO online for each of the games, graphics filters, arcade perfect gameplay, etc.
Man I honestly hated everything about this game outside of the roster. SNK is one of my favorite companies but this game wasn’t up to their standards, but it’s understandable tho, they were in a really bad spot as a company at the time and didn’t have a lot of money or resources.
I like it because of that... and I prefer that SnK over today Chinese SNK
the legend When SNK saw how successful Capcom was with their Capcom vs SNK CROSSOVER GAME series was, SNK tried TO DO THE SAME THING.
@@joshualowe1821 SVC Match of The Millennium was freakin' great. I blame SNK's state of recovering from bankruptcy at the time on this game's failures (In fact, they were still technically bankrupt as this game was made by Playmore prior to their rebranding as SNK playmore).
Aww man, yea SvC MOTM was amazing for a handheld game, i was addicted to that game for a looong time. Still love it till this day. And to Joshua: As far as the SNK thing it wasn't that they saw how successful Capcom was with their version of CvS and tried to copy it, it was that they had signed an agreement where they would both release two games a piece under the Capcom/SNK crossover deal. SNK released SvC MOTM, then Capcom released CvS 1 and 2, then SNK released the last game of the deal: SvC Chaos, but by that time they were recovering from bankruptcy and were under the name "Playmore" and they were still very much struggling as a company.
Yeah, this game needs better presentation.
This game looks surprisingly nice, it reminds me a lot of street fighter 3 except a bit edgier, and the sprites aren't quite as nice.

The Violent Ken of ultra sf2 follows the animated movie story line.
Violent Ken in SVC is corrupted by the Orochi, same as Iori.
Capcom did copy him from SNK, just changed the story.
Skuntac That makes Violent Ken and Shin Akuma VERY SIMILAR! A street fighter game and a CROSSOVER game have different concepts of Violent Ken and Shin Akuma:
VIOLENT KEN, like you pointed out: In ULTRA STREET FIGHTER 2, Violent Ken was Ken UNDER THE CONTROL OF BISON. In SVC CHAOS SNK VS CAPCOM, Violent Ken was Ken who OBTAINED THE OROCHI POWER(HOW DID KEN GET THE OROCHI POWER??)
SHIN AKUMA has different concepts as well: In STREET FIGHTER games like ULTRA STREET FIGHTER 2, STREET FIGHTER ALPHA 2 & 3, & STREET FIGHTER 4, Shin Akuma was just Akuma USING HIS FULL STRENGTH. In CAPCOM VS SNK 2 however, Shin Akuma was Akuma how received Orochi power from Rugal to combine with Akuma's Satsui No Hado power.(The CVS2 Shin Akuma should have been called ULTIMATE AKUMA in my opinion).
We need a crazy bad guy character season for SFV. Evil Ryu, Oni, Violent Ken, and a new comer-wait for it...Tyrannical Chun-Li!

Why does violent ken sound so calm whenever he does a battle cry for his attacks. He should be called Mellow Ken.
I was thinking you'd skip this one but here it is! I remember buying this game for the original Xbox and being told "it would be the worst fighting game I've played" It wasn't the best but no where near the worse either. I liked some bits of this game, Violent Ken being one of them.
I remember when I was a kid and I unintentionally just came across this game randomly at my friends house and I remember the first words that came out of my mouth after playing it was "this is a fun fan game"
I had no idea what or who snk or capcom were, just liked playing video games lol

Hey Max, Thanks for playing SVC Chaos. That game was a gem during the dark days of SNK and pretty much all 2-D fighters. I thoroughly enjoyed it. Brought back many memories of me putting countless hours into this game.
Just couple of things you should know.
1. To do the Exceed, you have to be in red health and your character name have to be flashing, and as you stated earlier, it can be only used once a match.
2. To get the Secret Fight/True Ending, you have to get all the way to Shin Akuma or Shin Mr. Karate by not losing a round. BUT, you can lose a match though and continues ARE allowed. (I know it sounds weird. lol)
To go to Hell and fight Fire Brand (Red Arremer) you simply have to win just 1 round at any stages 1-7 by chip damage
To go to Heaven and fight Goddess Athena just simply get to the end without losing a round
F.Y.I. The not-lose-a-round requirement is only required for stages 1-7 You CAN lose a round at Shin Akuma and Shin Mr Karate and still get the secret fight/True ending.
F.Y.I. 2. The secret fights have the same stipulations as the Secrets fights in SF4. One and Done. If you win? You'll get the true ending. If you lose? You'll get turn into a animal/demon, the game is over and you'll get the same text ending that you got in this video

I loved this game I never understood the hate I loved the sound track as well. I know what the complaints are but they never bothered me.
games left:mvc2, alpha 3, 3rd strike, ex 1 to 3, sf4, sfxt and sf5.
This is the only VS game where we get the Megaman Zero version of Zero and that makes me sad cuz I think that design looks cooler than his regular look.
This game had an amazing roster and design (Demitri and Firebrand are some good examples, I LOVE THEM), but it looked outdated even at the release due the obsolete hardware; Capcom was already making games for the NAOMI/Dreamcast 128 bit board since 2000 and this came out on 2003 on 32 bit Neo Geo. I wish SNK would remake it in HD with modern hardware.
SNK vs Capcom:SVC Chaos is probably the most surreal Capcom Vs game as it all feels like a kind of crazy dream that everybody is in. Even the backgrounds and music seems like some bizzare figmentation of it all.

10:00 You did the kick combo TOO late from the fall. the second you see them fall at the top of the screen, do the input. they fall RIGHT into your shinryuken. it's beautiful when it connects.

While by far not the best CvS game by any means, I have a soft spot for this one, it's my guilty pleasure fighting game, it's just so strange, and has some cool stuff like the combo Max pulled off vs Violent Ken when he had to do the ditto.

I love the redrawn sprites for this game, but it felt sluggish AF. Love the dialogue between characters as well.
Another crossover Ken joins but, with a twist...a *VIOLENT* twist.

This game is fun once you pick it up. Credit to SNK for not screwing Capcom's characters like Capcom screwed SNK's in CVS, dividing and botching many of their moves. And Demitri in this game looks badass, way better than his original sprite. Zero was also fun to play, and SFIV's Vega design looks surprisingly similar to the one in this game (Vega is also a boss killer here). SNK vs Capcom for the Neo Geo pocket color (the originator of the crossover) was a funny little game too, you should try it some time.
He became one with the dark Hadou and became more powerful than you could possibly imagine
