Red Areemer on the other hand is really hard to fight. He fills the screen with projectiles almost as bad as Magaki and has an unblockable rush attack.
Yeah i guess your love for this one depends on what you prioritize in fighting games. Like as long as the rosters cool and fun to use, i dont really care about how competitively respected the game is
I mean. CVS seems like it just had an emphasis on Fighting Games rather than celebrating the whole history. Since that's what most people would have wanted.
PolarPhantom Except both Capcom and SNK have several other fighting game series like Darkstalkers, Rival Schools, Samurai Shodown, and the Last Blade, that they could’ve added more characters from. Unfortunately, each CVS game is almost just Street Fighter and King of Fighters characters. If they only wanted to add characters from those two series, they should’ve called it Street Fighter Vs King of Fighters.
I mean, when you think about it, SNK would be be supporting Capcom’s biggest middle finger towards them if they DID make Dan as irredeemably bad as he is in home games.
the big punch is unblockable but has that long animation before and after move with a cool damage, but Ryo Ultimate Move is more brutal, sometimes hits 1 bar and a half of the HP and Dan have a Haoh Sho Kouken move, but nerfed Violent Ken Ultimate Move is a Ryuuko Ranbu (Ryo/Robert Garcia move) like, this game is epic!
Man if you Look Fatal Fury lore Ryo probably its one of the most interesting characters, beat Mr Karate, be the first KOF Champion and become a true Master of his style
I remember he got to Athena by mistake before and he didnt know what was going on and didnt know it was a one try deal and was pissed, said screw it after he lost haha.
I think on most difficulties you can just throw Athena over and over and over till she dies. If you don't she's near impossible though. Firebrand just covers the whole screen with projectiles then shoots fireballs that have the highest priority of any projectile in the game at you.
I gotta say i really like the sound effects in this game. Its like the closest mankind will ever come to smacking digital meat. Its like what punching a digimon in the face would sound like IRL.
There's 2 endings in SVC chaos from what I know. The bad ending is the traditional ending where every character is no where to be found. If you're lucky to fight and beat the secret bosses (Athena or Ghouls n ghosts devil), you get the real/good ending
Yeah. There were ALWAYS hidden bosses in the Capcom-SNK crossover games 1. CAPCOM vs SNK: Morrigan, Nakoruru, Evil Ryu, Orochi Iori & Akuma 2. CAPCOM vs SNK 2: Akuma, Rugal, Shin Akuma, Ultimate Rugal
I forgot how you get to fight Athena or Red Arremeer, as far as I can remember you need to have a few KO's using the Exceed move (the one you can only do once a match after you lose the yellow health bar) and I think you can't lose more than 2 rounds or something like that.
@@OddballEddie to fight Athena you must not lose a single round, if you lose a round you can lose the fight and still can fight them if you continue and finish at least 5 fight with hyper combos to red arredmer its the same thing but you must defeat by chip damage o defeat the middle boss with a xceed move
That's correct. The catch is that you was one and done. You only get one shot. If you lose you'll get turning into an animal or demon and you'll get the bad endings. Side note: if you Fight Fire Brand with Dan and you lose, you'll stay as yourself. I guess Fire Brand thinks that being Dan is punishment enough! 😂😂🤣🤣🤣
He could constantly replay the game until he fights him. All he has to do is have a Capcom character as opponent #6 and the SNK bosses will close out the game. If Opponent #6 is an SNK character the Capcom bosses will close out the game. That's all there is to it.
Given the whole point of Dan was to show how lame SNK-style characters were it'd be a great joke if here, in SNK's home turf, he was the strongest fighter.
I don’t remember which vid it was but in the comments I saw that someone mentioned that in this game, Dan has some noteworthy upgrades to his move set that make him an actual viable character
@@electrix_panadal00 Dan is joke response from Capcom to Ryo and in this game they added the signature moves from Ryo and make a pretty lame version to Dan
Dan was made as a teasing joke towards SNK. What's this bullshit about Dan being an insult towards SNK? You know SNK were staffed by former Capcom employees right? Both companies have a friendly relationship. They teased each other all the time. Yuri Sakazaki was SNK's response to Dan.
Bums me out that Max always opens SvC vids with "this game isn't good" Too many people consider SvC garbage who mostly played it for 10 minutes, or not at all. My street fighter friends hated it, because they honestly couldn't play it, but my KOF friends only ever wanted to play this and it was a blast. Fantastic game.
This game has one of the best rosters, especially on Capcom side, they showed more respect to capcom IP that capcom did, CvS2 is literally "Street Fighter and Final Fight Featuring Morrigan" The problem with this game is that it just feels bland and lifeless: the sound effects are bland the stages are well made but their colors are just lifeless and boring. CvS2 was the complete opposite in term of presentation
Also i might be lousy at snk fighters but its near impossable for me to play as Zero and the ghost goblins Red guy. Then again, fast forward, and i can't use Megaman Legends in capcom vs anime. Such is life....
@@Triumph._. Haomaru and Hibiki are SNk characters and Rivals School, just like Final Fight are basically from the Street Fighter Universe, Haomaru and Hibiki aren't

CvS2's soundtrack sounded like a childish birthday party. This one is far more serious and fitting for a fighting game.
@ Love both companies to death but i have to disagree there man, the music in this game was bland, uninspired, and boring. Especially compared to the absolutely amazing music SNK was known for. The CvS games had far far better music. SvC Chaos was a huge letdown for me because i know the amazing games SNK is capable of making, but it's understandable considering what they were going through at the time.
SNK: "It will bring the napkins (used) and a half-finished stack of saltine crackers to your house party, then borrow $20 from you and swipe your drink."
That Dan vs. Dan match was so unhype that it looped back into being hype. Both Dans breaking their fists on each other, nullifying each other's short-ranged projectiles, and then the computer Dan self-destructing on Max when he was trying to do it multiple times in the last rounds made it really special.
I personally love SvC Chaos, it's quirky and you kinda don't wanna play against it's AI. But you can have some fun in it. Plus the roster is pretty bananas. Mars People? Tessa? Red Arremer? I kinda wish they had developed a second one. Imagine the obscure characters they could've used if they were willing to go for these ones in the game.
@@elbucho8867 oh yeah! When I was writing about a second one I fully thought about ngbc. But imagine the character they would've pulled from Capcom's wackier roster! Maybe now that SNK and Capcom are doing fighting games again they could go at it one more time.
I figured out everyone's spam/favorite move! Ryu- Shoryuken Balrog- Straight Punch (idk what it's called) Kim- Hien Zan (his rising somersault kick) Dan- His bigger Gadouken Sagat- Tiger Shot (High and low) Ryo- Either his ripoff hadouken or shoryuken V.Ken- Shoryuken S.Akuma- Goshoryuken
This game has some of the cheapest AI ever. Demonic input reading. Bloody roar 1 & 2 also has cheap AI. I added bloody roar 2 in my PlayStation classic
Also it's nice how the games input parsing sucks ass... Come off of playing all the other capcom and snk fighters ripping off specials and supers like it's nothing... can't do a srk in this...
Dan's actually pretty good at holding opponents in the corner in this game. He even has some tricks up his sleeve that put him over Ryo. His gadouken is arguably the most pitiful it's ever been, however 😂
Best ending??? After Shin akuma or Mr karate,if you did good*forgot conditions* you go to heaven to fight Goddess Athena or go to Hell to fight Armored or whats his name from Ghost and Ghouls
SVC Chaos is a cool game. I wish I had it and CVS2; Vega was really cool in these crossovers; Chaos had a lot of personality with the intro discussions
I would say that he is in svc chaos much better than in cvs 1 and 2. Charge punch with armor and good damage(invincebility frames included), mobility tatsu backwards and forwards , shoryu light is best anti-air , and even his special taunts have invincebility frames that make dan much more reliable except his useless supers.

@@alienalibi2382 Definitely. SNK and Capcom need to temporarily patch bridges and give us a collection of these games along with the NGPC game since that's a Gem.
I wish I could describe it better, but there is something about this game's stages and backgrounds that makes me feel uneasy. With the exception of the forest, they all look so... industrial and sterile. Even Heaven (Athena's stage) looks cold and desolate.
The way Max narrates "I am Akuma, master of the fist" is still so funny to me. He sounds like Korg. "Hey min, ye so I'm, yknow, Akuma and eeeeeh, I'm like, the master of the fist round these parts I guess"

Someone may already said this before, but there's an urban legend that you must not lose a single round until Shin Akuma or Mr Karate to reach the final boss. And than, it depends on how many times(aka 5) you defeated your opponent with SPECIAL move(not super or Exceed, just special) to which final boss you meet. which seems too complicated and sounds fake, maybe try it out next time.

Same. I think that with a little more development time and a more basic meter system it could have been great.
When you have Zero on your roster (From Mega Man Zero no less) you automatically have a solid roster
Yeah i guess your love for this one depends on what you prioritize in fighting games. Like as long as the rosters cool and fun to use, i dont really care about how competitively respected the game is
True. The roster is excellent because the choices were not the usual at least in the SNK side.
Dimitri looks awesome!
It's sad that SNK remembers Dimitri better than Capcom.
I still remember "He's option selecting me with infinite meter!" and "He's punishing my hits!"
I believe the specific phrasing was closer to, "He's punishing my attacks that *_landed_* !"
While it’s roster is weird, SVC Chaos does a better job at representing other Capcom and SNK series compared to the other three games.
That's true
Big facts
Mars People from Metal Slug is my favorite
Dan has some cool things going for him in this game, ngl.
He studied with Ryo and learned some new moves
His "Super Punch" move (i forget the name) is easily the best move Dan has every had in his arsenal.
Besides the punch and mega hadoken not really lol can barely do a combo
Because SNK said 'OH he's a parody of us? Time to make him good.'
I mean, when you think about it, SNK would be be supporting Capcom’s biggest middle finger towards them if they DID make Dan as irredeemably bad as he is in home games.
the big punch is unblockable but has that long animation before and after move with a cool damage, but Ryo Ultimate Move is more brutal, sometimes hits 1 bar and a half of the HP and Dan have a Haoh Sho Kouken move, but nerfed
Violent Ken Ultimate Move is a Ryuuko Ranbu (Ryo/Robert Garcia move) like, this game is epic!
I would love to see Ryo Sakazaki on a legacy series. He has never been similar to Ryu, he deserves better publicity
I wish max would play Art of Fighting 1, 2 and 3 because he already did the Dan legacy before he was announced for SF V.
If max wasn't biased for capcom
Man if you Look Fatal Fury lore Ryo probably its one of the most interesting characters, beat Mr Karate, be the first KOF Champion and become a true Master of his style
000mjd much better character development then Ryu.
@@elbucho8867 I don't want even my worst enemies to play Art of Fighting 2.
Oh no...
You barely begun to to scratch into the surface of Dan in SVC Chaos...
Boss Rage Hardest Difficulty Athena and Red Arremer/Firebrand is still the pinnacle Boss Rage.
One of these days Max, one of these days...
I remember he got to Athena by mistake before and he didnt know what was going on and didnt know it was a one try deal and was pissed, said screw it after he lost haha.
Yeah, but if you lose in the true final boss you can't rematch
Sure you can. Just do all the requirements again c:
Lol I’m Terry legacy he reached Athens but lost pretty harf
I think on most difficulties you can just throw Athena over and over and over till she dies. If you don't she's near impossible though.
Firebrand just covers the whole screen with projectiles then shoots fireballs that have the highest priority of any projectile in the game at you.
I gotta say i really like the sound effects in this game. Its like the closest mankind will ever come to smacking digital meat.
Its like what punching a digimon in the face would sound like IRL.
Yeah, this definitely feels like one of the charms about this game which sounds so satisfying.
"Punching a digimon in the face" that's a pretty specific remark
There's 2 endings in SVC chaos from what I know. The bad ending is the traditional ending where every character is no where to be found. If you're lucky to fight and beat the secret bosses (Athena or Ghouls n ghosts devil), you get the real/good ending
Yeah. There were ALWAYS hidden bosses in the Capcom-SNK crossover games
1. CAPCOM vs SNK: Morrigan, Nakoruru, Evil Ryu, Orochi Iori & Akuma
@@000mjd thanks, it's been a long time since I played SvC. I did recall that there was one of those loopholes when it came to losing.
When you realize SNK did the Red Focus Attack before Capcom did xP
Takuma had one in at least KOF 98
Has Max ever fought Serious Mr Karate in this? Also, RIP the SNK power that is Kim's pants
No and it’s so disappointing
He could constantly replay the game until he fights him. All he has to do is have a Capcom character as opponent #6 and the SNK bosses will close out the game. If Opponent #6 is an SNK character the Capcom bosses will close out the game.
That's all there is to it.
@@qadashchaayah144 So it's LUCK?!
He has played this game 4 times, and all four have ended with shin Akuma. He actually fought Athena once but lost.
@@ThreeEyedPea More like RNG. So I'd say it's by chance. Don't know why SNK made it like that, but they did.
Man. The sprites for the Capcom characters looks so good!
Dimitri and Zero are my favorites.
Speaking of Dimitri... I like his rule 63 super ;)
SvC will always be cool to me because it introduced Evil Ken.
Given the whole point of Dan was to show how lame SNK-style characters were it'd be a great joke if here, in SNK's home turf, he was the strongest fighter.
I mean he’s got the mega art of fighting fireball so there’s an upgrade
I don’t remember which vid it was but in the comments I saw that someone mentioned that in this game, Dan has some noteworthy upgrades to his move set that make him an actual viable character
yes snk lame blanka , el fuerte , rufus , adon , etc etc cool
@@electrix_panadal00 Dan is joke response from Capcom to Ryo and in this game they added the signature moves from Ryo and make a pretty lame version to Dan
Dan was made as a teasing joke towards SNK. What's this bullshit about Dan being an insult towards SNK? You know SNK were staffed by former Capcom employees right? Both companies have a friendly relationship. They teased each other all the time. Yuri Sakazaki was SNK's response to Dan.
SNK really gave Dan Haoh Sho Ko Ken. Bless them
Bums me out that Max always opens SvC vids with "this game isn't good"
Too many people consider SvC garbage who mostly played it for 10 minutes, or not at all.
My street fighter friends hated it, because they honestly couldn't play it, but my KOF friends only ever wanted to play this and it was a blast. Fantastic game.
It was a great game. I still remember the first time I beat shin Akuma!
This game has one of the best rosters, especially on Capcom side, they showed more respect to capcom IP that capcom did, CvS2 is literally "Street Fighter and Final Fight Featuring Morrigan"
The problem with this game is that it just feels bland and lifeless: the sound effects are bland the stages are well made but their colors are just lifeless and boring.
The game is lifeless because its set in purgatory. Thats why everything seems bland and full of despair. Also why the final bosses are athena and red armier. There is also a manga for it in which ken gets his intestines ripped out i think.
"There is no other difficult bosses after this"
Remember the Terry legacy?
Too prideful to admit he got rightfully wrecked by Athena.
I demand that Max Does a boss rage, as a sign of redemption.

SNK: "It will bring the napkins (used) and a half-finished stack of saltine crackers to your house party, then borrow $20 from you and swipe your drink."
11:46 when you punch a computer so hard you break both your hand AND the AI.
I love how this game always drives Max nuts and salty
It's what I look forward to
I play this everytime I'm at my carwash lol, they have an old snk machine and these are one of the games.
Nice!
Lucky
Fucking lucky man. I am buying all the releases on the switch xD
Nice!
The “second one” is Neo Geo Battle coliseum, it’s a spiritual successor and it has many wacky characters from many of SNK IP’s.
@@elbucho8867 oh yeah! When I was writing about a second one I fully thought about ngbc. But imagine the character they would've pulled from Capcom's wackier roster!
Maybe now that SNK and Capcom are doing fighting games again they could go at it one more time.
TheCyramDLC it’s not impossible, SNK is owned by Chinese companies and they want to crossover their characters with as many games as possible.
I figured out everyone's spam/favorite move!
Ryu- Shoryuken
Balrog- Straight Punch (idk what it's called)
Kim- Hien Zan (his rising somersault kick)
Dan- His bigger Gadouken
Sagat- Tiger Shot (High and low)
Ryo- Either his ripoff hadouken or shoryuken
V.Ken- Shoryuken
S.Akuma- Goshoryuken
Will be great if the Ryo super punch be a V-Skill or a V-trigger of Dan in SFV.

This game has some of the cheapest AI ever. Demonic input reading.
Bloody roar 1 & 2 also has cheap AI. I added bloody roar 2 in my PlayStation classic

Dan's actually pretty good at holding opponents in the corner in this game. He even has some tricks up his sleeve that put him over Ryo. His gadouken is arguably the most pitiful it's ever been, however 😂
Well that settles it... max will never know the terror of fighting Mr Karate as the final boss.

Ryu gets Evil Ryu, Ken gets Violent Ken, when are we getting Nettled Dan as a form?
RIGHT?!?!?! When do we get Psycho Dan? He actually fails upwards and unlocks ultimate power

Someone may already said this before, but there's an urban legend that you must not lose a single round until Shin Akuma or Mr Karate to reach the final boss.
