@@puppude A loose definition might be when the content of a media (like a movie or this video) displays a "self-awareness of itself" or self-reflexiveness. The meta joke (if there was one) would be that having to watch 3 Hours, 14 minutes, and 25 seconds of a video about torture is, in fact, torture itself, perhaps deliberately.
One of my parents would tickle me relentlessly. It was awful and felt gross in a lot of confusing ways. I begged them to stop and was so loud about it the neighbors called the police once. My parent then said “Hey it was just a tickle fight”
I don’t think it’s hyperbole to call it a form of abuse

I saw a pretty amazing invention that was a glove that circulated very warm water on someone’s hand while they were submerged up to their neck in ice water.
This device was able to counteract the effects of hypothermia and made it relatively comfortable in the ice bath.
As an emergency device it could keep someone alive in a snow storm or someone that fell into near frozen water.
I have to disagree with one statement, in particular.
The barbarity of the past is certainly horrific, but it unfortunately didnt stay there.
I think most of us can think of modern if not, recent occasions that could arguably be said, to rival historical events.
That's what "it unfortunately didn't stay there" meant. It didn't stay in the past.

@@vic5015 Justifies? No, of course not. However, intentionally not using the data would be an even greater detriment to humanity as the data has saved far FAR more lives than the experiments took.
And, no matter how you slice it, the allies were responsible for far more civilian deaths than the Germans were. They never "gassed" anyone, not as a form of execution. Zyclon B is an insecticide. When the allies cut off supply lines food, medicine and insecticides stopped showing up at the camps. Typhus and starvation killed the vast majority of the prisoners in the camps.
Body lice was rampant. That's what the Zyclon B was used for. Delousing of bedding and clothing.
