    Another fantastic tutorial James, we used to use this method of fishing about 45 yrs ago, when I used to fish the deep dams in Cyprus before I had seen a hair rig or bollies. We used to call it the Billy Lane method, because I think he was one of the first anglers to use the knot, back in the day. I am about to start fishing again after about a thirty year lay off, with my grandson, but I think we will start on the local canal. Keep up the good work. Tight lines.

    Hopefully it won't be too long before my dad can join me on the bank, hopefully with a brand new rod👍.

    Great fishing again James. First time I fished the slider was being in taught it by the old slider master Ian Heaps on the north bank of the nene on one of his angling holidays back in the early 90's. Another old school method often overlooked but a lovely way to fish.

    After 50+ years of fishing I wanted to learn a new skill “Slider float fishing” my local club has a gravel pit carp water that holds a good head of roach and bream, but because of the depth traditional waggler fishing has been out of the question, thank you James for the in depth video , 2 x Cadence CS5’s ordered, why 2 ? We’ll my wife also fishes with me 🙂

    Fantastic video. Subbed. I have a venue and peg lined up for this very method. Around 18 foot of depth. I do have a query. Does it have to be a bodied waggler you use, and would it need to be semi loaded?
    Edit. You are currently addressing this as I watch. Lol.. 😉

    Hi James, Love all your videos and I know this is an old video but I’m gradually working my way through the Cadence episodes. ive watched a few video’s on using the slider and all seem to use bulk shot. Have you ever tried using olivettes instead of bulk shot? I only started coarse fishing several months ago and theres a few natural venues with deep water that I want to try in Scotland, I think the slider would be an ideal method to use.

    • @cadencefishinguk
      @cadencefishinguk  2 года назад +1

      Hi, reply from from Chappy...Yes, for sure olivettes are ideal for the slider and a neat solution.

    Good evening. Could you please tell me what is the total weight of the bulk? What is the total weight needed to balance the waggler? The reason I am asking is to find out what would be the required weight in order to be able to withstand the wind and current travelling of the waggler

    Hi James, i fish the slider a lot, probably my favourite method. Do you not think it best, in such a depth of water, to have a much stiffer groudbait mix so the balls of feed get closer to the bottom before breaking up? Great video.

      All we see today is tackle and product porn. Here we have a gentleman who explains tactics in a beautiful way just as I was thought when I was young by anglers of his ilk. That type of angling is missing these days, in a big way. Based on your name it seems you were born in 84, well I am younger than you it seems and I don't hold the same level of begrudgery you seem to hold against things that were done the old British way which was simply the best.
