Now watching this in 2021 I can still feel the Dallas magic all over again. It's a timeless piece of drama production, it's the iconic TV show of the 1980s, the one and only.
I miss the old days and these old tv shows. It reminds me of a time when everything wasn't so fast paced. We ate breakfast and dinner at the table together and blessed our food. The kids even looked forward to racing to the phone when it rang to see who would answer it first. I also miss family time playing board games and going to the farmers market. Those peaceful memories always brings a smile to my face.
I always tell the story when Dynasty, knots landing , dallas and moon lighting would come on, my mom would go “Shhh Shhh Shhh Shhhh”. Then it would be a lot screaming for me to go to bed!
I LOVE Dallas and still do - it has it all - the big hair, shoulder pads, the acting, the lavish lifestyle and the great love stories like Pam and Bobby... I was so sad to see Victoria Principal go... she and Patrick had wonderful chemistry and made us root for them 😊😊 they don’t make ‘em like Dallas anymore!!
It was always Bobby and Pam for me. They were the perfect couple on Dallas hated when they got divorced but so happy when they got back together. Never liked Jenna
I was so upset when Pam left and the storyline they used. They should have killed her off instead as then it would then mean they always were together and meant to be to the end. In the new dallas that was not very good they discovered Pam died of cancer in 1989. No way would she have left Christopher without a word or any contact making him, think she ran out on him and Bobby for another man. Horrible the way the writers wrote it.
Jenna was never right for Bobby ,neither was April!Pam was the best of all of them. They needed to leave the Ewing's and Barnes behind ,Maybe their marriage would have lasted
I agree. It was nice to see the Barnes gather at their retreat away from the drama. Rebecca was a good character and balanced the show. It was either Southfork, Southern Cross, Ray's place, Cliff's gaudy place with marshmallow/coolwhip lamps or Pam's place.
Loved how JR said that Bobby was a whole lot dumber than he thought any brother of his could be...with the exception of his other two brothers...Gary and Ray.🤣
Bobby and Pam were by far my favorite couple on prime time soaps. It was just so frustrating how the writers made them into star-crossed lovers, and never let them stay happy & together for too long at a time. Between all the interference from JR and Cliff, and Bobby's death/rebirth, and Pam ultimately being killed/leaving the show, it just left all us Bobby-Pam fans feeling sad and very unfulfilled. Bobby-Jenna were a decent pairing, but certainly no match for Bobby-Pam. Then later on, Bobby-April was a horrible pairing in my view. I didn't mind April so much when she first came on the show, as kind of a sleazy hustler, but when they tired to remake her into a ":good-girl" next Pam, and pair her with Bobby, I couldn't stand her. @@michaelwallace9126 : Yup. Pam & Bobby raised the bar, and set the bar so high, that anything after that paled in comparison. As I mentioned, Jenna was a solid pairing, but Jenna&Bobby paled next to Pam&Bobby's chemistry. April's recasting was a disaster and was forced on us viewers who weren't buying it. Mark & Pam I didn't like either. He was a poor man's Bobby, and he had no real chemistry or "sizzle" with Pam. Mark did at at least usually do a good job of trying to keep JR in check like Bobby did though, so that was at least one positive with Mark. LOL. . But overall Mark brought no real chemistry or interest to the show for me. He was just a place-holder / poor man's Bobby. I would have like to have seen Sue-Ellen & Dusty played up more and last longer over the years than it did. That whole story between them had some sizzle to it, but they kept as a on/off thing for whatever reason. I will also just say the producers flat-out lost their minds when they paired Ray & Jenna. That was likely the worst pairing in the history of the show perhaps.

Agreed! Donna absolutely should have stayed. After Victoria left, that Pamela look-a-like and sound-a-like actress Margaret Michaels should have re-cast the role. Also, bring back Morgan Brittany for more than a two-episode teaser. All that would have made Season 10, 1987-88, so much better!!
Bobby's poolside breakup with Jenna was one of the most dramatic scenes of season 9. I remember seeing it when it first aired in 1986. A few scenes later, a scene deleted from the dvds shows Jenna by the stables telling Ray she has to leave Southfork.
MMAFighter38: I totally on all counts. Ray & Jenna was like try to force a square peg into a round hole. The producers were forcing something that just had not chemistry or interest.

Thank you, Joe ,for this transcription . I listened to that moment of conversation 3 times and didn't understand the whole of it . So ,I apreciate you , for your inspiration to put it on the screen !!! Thank you again !
They really missed up with how they killed Bobby. They should have made it where his body was never found leaving it open for him to come back. I heard Patrick Duffy wanted Bobby to die the way he did but the writers and producers shouldn't have listened to him. Production should have known there would be major push to bring Bobby back. With not having the body found there wouldn't have been the stupid dream season.
For all his moral lecturing, Bobby looked like a total sleazebag after doing this. He strung Jenna along for a couple of years, asked her to marry him, told her he loved her and Charlie, then goes behind Jenna's back and proposes to Pam who had already dumped his ass once. Lost all respect for his character after that.
First of all you are so wrong.... Where do I begin.... Jenna was the one who ran out on Bobby not once but twice.... The second time was not her fault necessarily.... Then again maybe it was because you need to watch season 8 again.... When Naldo came back into Jennas life before kidnapping both her and Charlie, Bobby warned her on a few occasions that he didn't feel good about him coming back and being a part of her and her daughters lives. But Jenna, in her own stubbornness did not listen to or even consider what Bobby was saying to her, and was too naive to think that he had changed in the span of a year. And look what her not listening to Bobby got her, she was kidnapped on the day her and Bobby were supposed to get married, had her daughter abducted, all because she didn't listen to what Bobby was telling her. But of course Bobby is the sleeze bag, right? She lied to Bobby about who her daughter's birth father was. But let's skip ahead 2 season 8 again..... Bobby goes to a great deal to bail her out of jail before her trial, before she goes to trial Bobby tries to hurry and marry her, and suggest they go to the justice of the peace but Jenna refused..... Jenna goes to trial then gets sentenced to jail. Bobby goes through a great deal to find out who Naldos killer really was, he also rescued and took care of Charlie the whole time she was in jail. He helped gets her back out of jail. But Bobby's the bad guy.....ok HOGWASH!
@@drdfilm bobby was the bad guy because once he knew he could get Pam back he and Pam both treated Jenna like crap. it was not Jenns'a fault she was kidnapped!!!!! she could not have known he was that crazy. and Pam wanted to run her out of Braddock even. tried to talk her into adopting her child. they both did Jenna wrong.
@@dianecarder9005 your facts are so twisted. Bobby made it clear to Jenna that he loved her, maybe not on the same level as Pam, but how is it that Bobby and Pam treated Jenna like crap? Jenna was the one who didn't listen to Bobby when naldo came back and he told Jenna to stay away from naldo. Naldo ended up kidnapping her simply because she didn't listen to Bobby. Then Jenna gets in that fiasco and gets caught up in all those murder even though she was charged and jailed for it. Bobby pulled $2 million of his own money to get Jenna billed so that she was free before trial. And he fought tooth and nail to get Jenna out of jail after she was sentenced to years. Even before Jenna got sentenced Bobby made an attempt to marry her but she told him to wait until the trial was over which was another mistake on Jenna's part. And then Jenna told Bobby that they needed a break and she wasn't sure that they should get married. So what proof do you have that Bobby and Pam treated Jenna like crap. If you simply don't like Bobby and Pam just admit it rather than try to make up some absurd theories.
Morgan Fairchild was the best Jenna. For me Jenna was alsways a golddigger and her daughter also knew how to press the right buttons. Jenna lost her moneys father, her first husband Renaldo and had a child. She wanted Bobby, had him for a while and then he returned to Pam. She didn´t love Ray but married him. And how did that happen? Charly told her friends make fun of her mother living with a man she is not married. Jenna reminds me of Dynastys Claudia. The Original Dynasty!!!
Bobby & Pam should have never ever divorced in the very first place to begin with. J.R. Should have never called his sister in law Pam that Barnes woman, goes to show that J.R. Hated all of his sister in laws.
In the beginning there was too much interference from both sides of the family for Pam and Bobby. Even I wouldn't have let JR drive me away. It's sad that Pam and Bobby didn't get the opportunity to have a baby together after she learned she could conceive.
JR had no right at all to butt into Pam and Bobby's love. He should've minded his own business and he drove wifey Sue Ellen to drink because he was awful to her.
Seemingly, it's morning when Bobby tells Jenna that he's marrying Pam again, then it cuts to Pam telling Cliff in their offices. Notice Cliff has a drink in his hand, which means he gets started on the booze quite early in the day.

Na This Jenna Wasn't a Punk. She Had the Rt Attutude. Morgan Had the Looks but NOT the Heart of a Tiger lol
Cliff's reaction was impressive
Ken kercheval, who played Cliff Barnes was a good actor. From Ms. Harper Stacey.
@@harperstacey9604 he was also handsome.
@@sauleduskaliyeva yes, he was. From Ms. Harper Stacey.
JR: All right. If you want to ruin your life, ,go ahead. But you're a whole lot dumber than I ever thought any brother of mine could ever be... with the exception of Ray and Gary, of course.
CLASSIC!!
Thank you, Joe ,for this transcription . I listened to that moment of conversation 3 times and didn't understand the whole of it .
So ,I apreciate you , for your inspiration to put it on the screen !!!
Thank you again !
Hahah. With the exception of Ray and Gary.... of course. .
@Joe Tof... That line had my sides hurting.
bobby and Jenna never had conncotion like Pam. and bobby did
I agree that Jenna and ray didn't have anything in common Donna and ray did they share a baby girl together
+Melissa Campbell I hated to see Pam leave the show after bobby remarried.
Concussion.
I think the word we are looking for is CONNECTION .. CONNECTION ..thank you all for playing now stay tuned for these messages....
Kenny Raymond 😂🤣😁😄good one
They really missed up with how they killed Bobby. They should have made it where his body was never found leaving it open for him to come back. I heard Patrick Duffy wanted Bobby to die the way he did but the writers and producers shouldn't have listened to him. Production should have known there would be major push to bring Bobby back. With not having the body found there wouldn't have been the stupid dream season.
p love how they walk down stars for breakfast all dressed up lol
bobby e pam were the best in the 80 years
God Bless you Mr Kercheval.
That music. Sounds like something from a later Joan Crawford movie.
Priscilla Pressley is such a bad actor. LOL
Dallas's music scores were amongst the best I've heard in any TV show, especially at very dramatic moments.
@@joelgoldenberg1100 AMEN! Especially on this clip during Bobby and Jenna's scene. LOL
The only reason Priscilla beaulieu got the part is because she was married to elvis
Pam is way hotter! He made the right call!
Jenna was pathetic....
Jenna was always hanging around…got in my nerves. 😄
Loved Pam and Bobby together never liked any of the Jenna’s
He’s just not that into you Jenna😩
I was always surprised that Jenna never pushed Bobby into the available pool behind him. I guess fan reaction would have been negative.
I'd have enjoyed it.
she should have, that would have been great
@@dianecarder9005 Yes, but it would've been better had it been JR.
Lol. Sp true
@@drdfilm And then Jenna tells him after Lucy is married that things don't see right!. You've got it dead on!
@@mrbigfan4182 exactly!!! How could I have left that out?
That painting Cliff has of himself in the office..what a slimy little jerk!
I didn't care for Priscilla Presley as Jenna Wade.
Morgan Fairchild, who originated was much better. Ms. Harper Stacey.
Pam and Jenna fighting over Bobby and in the end, April was the one who got him.
The Original Dynasty!!!
totally disagree!!!
Notice Cliff has a drink in his hand, which means he gets started on the booze quite early in the day.
where did they get the music for this scene its totally misplaced and OTT
sitting here in 2023 watching this on a friday night like i did as a kid in the 80s
Priscilla is a lousy actress. Really bad.
Yankee Tar she should have stayed with Elvis. 😀
She was good in Naked Gun lol
Jane Marie Cox that’s a movie that doesn’t require acting
But she is the best looking woman out of the whole Dallas line-up.
Yankee Tar she better at comedy than drama. Some of her dramatic scenes in ‘Dallas’ were not convincing.
Every single scene of the original version of "DALLAS", like this one, certainly brings back plenty of fond memories.

Why was it such a problem Bobby and Pam Jr and Cliff just needed to let it go and move on
