Rebecca Barnes Wentworth vs Eleanor (Miss Ellie) Southworth Ewing (later Farlow), two powerful and enormous wealthy women in the series, I wish there were more storylines between them. Alot of history with the two characters.
@@devaughnjohnson The entire Barnes/Ewing fued was a stretch b/c at the very 1st Ewing BBQ it was explained the beef started based on Jock/Digger were 50/50 partners when they struck oil....Digger who an alcoholic, went off in celebration to tie one on....Jock put the claim in his name to protect digger from his own alcoholic demons.....Digger believing Jock was trying to cheat him out of his 50% tried to kill Jock, pissing Jock of who now took the position, Now i aint giving you ish......Digger trying to kill jock dic not remove his entitlement to the 50% and all he had to do was take Jock to court to get what belonged to him.
@@hardren101 Yes, but they reconned it again later and we found out that Jock loved Digger like a brother and made him a 1/3 owner of Ewing Oil. The problem is, Digger was a hardcore alkie and didn't know that he gave the papers to another one of his drinking buddies. Ironically, JR found that guy to throw it in his face that Jock was always trying to protect Digger from his brother Jason; who couldn't stand him. JR had no clue that the guy he found also had the missing papers; which were similar to the ones Jamie produced when JR pissed her off one time too many. Cliff married Jamie so he could have 2/3 ownership of the company against the Ewings. Funny how NONE of these papers were filed with the state of Texas or anywhere else, thought. LOL!
True. It's like if a bank teller were to walk off in the middle of a transaction, and leaves the cash draw open, and you decide to reach over and grab out a few bills before she gets back to her station, then who fault is it that the cops are handcuffing you later that day ? And if you decide to try and kill yourself after you realize how much you fucked up your own life, then who's fault is that ? Certainly not the bank teller's fault. Even if she had left the cash draw open on purpose, it still wouldn't be her fault. You're an adult, and responsible for your own choices - especially those that you make out greed and an obsession for power. To borrow a line from an old Western movie... "Nobody can make a fool out of kid. You can only duo that to yourself."
Priscilla Pointer (the woman who played Rebecca Wentworth) turned 100 years old on May 18th. Barbara Bel Geddes died from lung cancer in 2005. Pointer and Bel Geddes were accomplished actresses long before Dallas.
LOL !!!! True. Ellie would have mopped-up the floor with Rebecca without even breaking a sweat. Ellie is sweet, kind and understanding 99% of the time, but when you cross her she can get tough with the best of them. I remember that time when JR and Bobby went down in a plane crash. Ellie didn't want Jock to find out they were missing because he was still recovering from his heart attack. A reporter sneaked his way unto Southfork even after she had told the reporter earlier on the phone to respect their family at this time and give them space. Same reporter show up later a the front door, and Ellie tells Ray to bring her the shotgun out of the hall closet. She tells the reporter in no uncertain terms that if she didn't see him high-tailing it off her property immediately that she was going to blast him.. She was sure mad enough to start shooting if he didn't start running like he did... LOL
"Your a cold n insensitive man Jr."....poor delusional Miss. Ellie, Jr was a carbon copy of his daddy...Ellie chose to see Jock through rose-colored glasses....This is the same man that told Bobby"Real Power, is something you TAKE"...U can not TAKE power w/o being a cold insensitive individual....Jock was a hard-driving man that did not tolerate weakness in any of his sons.
@@willisapril AMEN....I often wonder how the storylines might have shifted had Jock remained....While I think Sue-ellen wld have left Jr at the end of S4, I do not believe there wld have been any divorce....I believe Jr wld have put the screws to Clayton, forcing Sue-ellen to return....n I do not believe for a sec they wld have lost EO....Jocks life blood up in smoke....There wld have been hell to play.
Casting was spot on.....In this scene i noticed that Jr n Miss. Ellie actually have a resemblence (n bobby resembled a younger Jock).......Gary n Ray had no resemblence...
J.R. was such a womanizer. No one else could have Sue Ellen yet he bedded how many different women while still married to her, lol. Actually, when Bobby got back from "California", they did vote J.R .out. Kristen miscarried J.R.'s and her baby so J.R. had no claim to Christopher as Kristen and Jeff Farraday were his parents.
They used her for enough dialogue for their story of Wentworth tool and dye that she left to Cliff and Katherine Wentworth came in too claim her stake in the legacy.
RIP to both Ken and Larry !!

Hagman..."If that man is dying, it's b/c of his own greed, not me"....born 2 play Jr Ewing.

He wasn’t wrong Cliff kept coming after the Ewing family especially J.R. Mrs Ellie can’t say her hands were clean either

Miss Ellie is sweet
Miss Ellie the best 👍
J.R is right he didn't force Cliff to embezzle and sign a deal that wasn't a great deal

But Jr still took advantage some way still um sure Cliff didn't know exactly all what was at stake.

I think it is jrs fault he doesn’t care who he steps on to get what 😮 he wants
They should have kept Rebecca longer in the show.
Cliff’s moms looked like an absolute psychopath with crazy eyes.
