he runs as good as he drives
He's fast at everything
He runs fast because he's young
Ansel Elgort might be the new tom cruise
He runs like a duck 😂 that shit is so dumb
Baby runner
This was easily my favorite scene in the movie. :D The set up, the tension, the ensuing chaos, Buddy seeing red, Baby's insane and suave running, the music sync. Everything.
nope. when i watched this when i was 8 it and i understood 0 stuff about the movie i just became angry at baby for killing everyone lol
The entire movie is a gem of synced sounds with awesome songs.
PD: 7:34 "They stole your car ma'am? thats bad, did you see the one who did it?"
"Yeah... that was the most polite and safest robbery i ever seen in my life!"
“He actually said, he was sorry.”
The only unrealistic thing is his headphones not falling out that entire time.😅
Source of his powers. Either that or he shoves that sh*t very deep in😂
really?
You think any cop in america has that kind of running endurance?
Especially since they’re Apple headphones. No grip or anything. They fall out when I try to lay down
thats what stood out to you?!
@@testickles8834 The only endurance most cops have is eating donuts and drinking coffee. Sad fact on a global scale...
It’s awesome how the windshield and the wipers are used. The wipers are not only in sync with the bpm of the music, but he also speeds them up in an attempt to wave and get the woman’s attention. They represent Baby’s desire to “stay clean” and how he thinks he’s fine as long as he’s the driver. Then once confronted with violence, he drives and sends the metal poles straight through the windshield, shattering it and getting his hands dirty.
While I know it's to match the pacing of the scene, I feel like if Baby had just left the car park slowly rather than ramming into every car, the cops wouldn't have noticed him anywhere near as fast.
@@bryannaing6316 Yea, theres a downside to always running at 11, you don't know when you need to slow down.
I wish I could watch this movie with some of y’all, people don’t understand how much work and how impressive it is to have a whole movie with sounds that sync up to music and still feel totally natural like this movie
Dj
I just love how they split up and still bumped into each other when they both stole a vehicle. Classic 😂
And then it's topped off by Buddy calling Baby a jinx 😂
6:27 The sound of the music lines up with the shots from the rifle. I’ve watched this movie 4 times and never noticed this lol
Almost every sound effect syncs with the music in this movie.
You watched 4 times and haven't noticed that almost everything that happens in the entire movie are synced with the soundtrack?
3:00
I love when all the cops behind Baby all yell “FREEZE!” all at once.
Dawg even the windshield wipers at the beginning lined up with the music. Baby even sped up the wipers for no apparent reason except to match the song speeding up.
2:07 The innocent and harmless music playing in the background of a horrific incident is what makes this scene so compelling.
In all honesty wasting that security guard was the right move for a robbery, guy already had his weapon drawn it was him or them
Yeah, his anger would have made more sense if they had shot the lady he was trying to protect.
@@roems6396 agreed 👍
He knows that but he was more mad about the trauma it would cause that woman.
@@ikGREENY but then he promptly murders a dude using a pipe to impale him which I feel like is much higher on the trauma scale haha
@@TheStealthyPyroany way you slice it, it’s a mad mad world.
except what really happens when you run from the cops is that you escape but simply have no where to go
Depends. I’ve ran from police in my car and on foot and got away with somewhere to go. Just gotta hope they don’t know who you are or didn’t get a plate. I did it with Chicago PD. This was back in 2013 when they had the new tahoes. I got away with my little Ford Focus that had a donut on it lol.
@@pab1381 Those Tahoe's are such shit lol. Rented one once, questioned why anyone would be dumb enough to buy a vehicle that's worse that our 2017 explorer in virtually every way while costing at least 15 grand more lol. It's like, just get a suburban/expedition if you need the size.
Lol it felt like watching a guy playing gta 4 or 5
@@pab1381Why did you run away lol? As a cop myself if someone really want to get away I usually give up, it doesn't worth the risk, but on the other hand it's even more risky for those who run, so I'm kinda currious what did you run away from.
@@user-uq1cb7mm1n
I’m not that guy, but decades ago in high school, I ran from cops in foot several times when they busted house parties. They liked to give MIPs away like that was their only job in my hometown.
Even though he was a driver for a bunch of criminals who willingly shoot people, he was still nice and didn’t like doing bad things. He could’ve easily drove off with that old lady’s purse but instead decided to take the time to give it to her before he took off
He could’ve just ignored the woman walking into the post office, but he gave her a warning instead and kept her out of it. He truly was a good person, he just wasn’t doing the right things
Yeah that was the point of the movie lmao, did you not watch the ending scene in the court? Lmfao
LoL...
@@Pyxyty No I didn’t watch the ending as I’ve never seen the entire movie
Feeling bad about your actions doesn’t make you a good person. He is a childish piece of shit who gets in over his head. As are most criminals.
@@themchamburglar210 A childish piece of shit criminal would have kept the lady’s purse and stolen shit out of it, a childish piece of shit would have acted nice to the woman going to the post office so she wouldn’t suspect anything
Childish piece of shit is bit much
0:19 I just loved how the windshield sound is synced with bgm. At 1:10 Baby put into fast cleaning and the bgm started forwarding too fast. I love this movie's sound mixing.
2:59 that's INCREDIBLY smooth.
shooting a weapon?
@@armybeef68the shooting is in sync with the music, happens throughout the clip but i assume that example caught their attention
This movie is such a gem
It feels like it just came out yesterday
It’s one of my all time favorites now. I can’t say I’m a huge modern movie fan but this fuckin’ movie ROCKS IT.
Baby driver >>>> Fast and Furious
the moment Hocus Pocus started playing was the moment shit got real😂😂
This is the moment where Baby became a parkour god.
I have always laughed at movies like this. The dude runs and dodges and hides, but yet there are cops oozing out of the cracks of the sidewalk he is standing on no matter where he is. The reality is he could lose the cops in about 5 minutes in a city like that.
GTA cop logic
Still a great movie though 🤩
I actually like that the police are not completely helpless here like in many other movies
@@olgaanisimova6916 if he was an innocent trying to prove his innocence, he would be able to lose the cops.
I understand killing Bats but Jon Hamm's character has been a real bro to him the whole movie and wrecking the car just got them into trouble
I agree with you, I was glad Bats got killed but since I was rooting for Buddy and Darling, I was also furious they got screwed in the process.
6:13 is when Buddy went from ragtag friend of Baby, to main antagonist.
@@lNeml I just watched this movie for the first time because it's on Netflix now and I legit was not expecting Buddy to become the terminator in the final act.
I'm still to this day very pissed this lost the Oscar for Best Sound Mixing to Dunkirk
Wouldn't it be sound editing?
Sound Mixing I can understand, but it deserved Sound *_Editing_*
Dunkirk definitely deserved a sound mixing Oscar. You don't really understand unless you saw it in theaters. The sound design was mindblowing.
I love the part where she’s dual wielding two rifles yet they’re making suppressed pistol sounds 🙄
So you’re going with a DJ mix tape as the rightful winner? Wow, not like the Oscars are bought awards mostly as it is.
Don't know why I never noticed this before but It's amazing how the gunfire actually matches the beat of the music.
Funfact: Every sound is sync to the song in the movie.

Dude puts "Im just the driver" to a new level
Darling wasnt kidding about Buddy when he sees red
This movie tells you to never mess with a man’s rhythm
Saw for the first time the other day.. this is a foot chase that an admirer of Point Break should be proud of.
watching this in the cinema was such a blast. One of the best recent movies
This was the first R rated movie I saw myself since I had just turned 17 and no one else wanted to see it now I show it to anyone who likes movies in general and they usually love it too
Great movie. Watching it now for the first time. My only complaint is Jamie Fox's character. He's so unlikeable and dangerous that nobody would want him on their team. He'd get shot by his own crew before the first job. Criminals know how to lull you into a false sense of security. Really enjoying it though
He actually saved you a headache buddy seeing as you were gonna kill bats too
Jamie Foxx played his character so well in this movie that even as one of his biggest fans I was happy to see him get impaled.
jamie plays a bad guy really well!!!
There might be an element of self-preservation for Baby because he knows Bats is likely to kill him due to jealousy when the heist is all over or his boss is gave him the directive to kill him because Bats showed signs of unstableness during the initial planning.
I believe Bats was scheduled to die. An unstable heist team member cannot be trusted and it was an order that secretly came from the boss. Let the conspiracy theories commence! lol
see guys. never skip cardio
Buddy was not the bad guy. He was cool as fuck to baby right away, same as darling. But to fuck up Bat, Baby dragged them down too and eventually got darling killled so I totally get why Buddy came after him. Wish they all couldve made it out.
I think Buddy and Darling were just as bad as Bats. They were ruthless, cold-blooded, coke and adrenaline-addicted, hedonistic murderers ready and willing to kill anyone for as little as a couple thousand bucks or a look at Darling. They even enjoyed it. Massive dangers to society. Buddy was only vibing with Baby purely because he realized that Baby was an invaluable asset for their heists.
I always thought that too that Buddy had a soft spot for Baby but I reckon Buddy and Darling are like a future version of Baby and Deborah if they continued on a path of crime. Both couples have the same initials as well. You can see as well Deborah being on board with that life when she takes the crowbar to take on Buddy and just agrees to go on the run with no questions asked. Just a quick conversation nonetheless.
how often did you watch this scene? me: yes.
Takes the old lady car but gives back her pocket book ..😂
god those gunshot syncs
I still think if he drive out the parking lot 'normally', no car accident and nobody would have died
Love Blur's intermission from 1991,The Windscreen wipers go well with the same time as the music 🤣Batts got his just deserts😂Also Hocus Pocus by Focus is memorable,Love how the Gunshots go with tandem to the 1971 Classic .Love Radar love also in this by Golden Earing ,The whole movie had great music classics from start to finish ❤Only 6 years old coming up to 7 years old come 2024 its still amazing , Hilarious,Action Packed to those Hit Greats 💞💕
One of the best uses of a song as background ever !! Hocus Pocus by Focus
Bats know he screwed up he push baby limits 2:00-2:16
Bats had it coming for a long time. Killing people, forcing him to get more involved, attempting to hurt Debbie and of course, picking on him constantly.
Was that a Lancer that Baby was driving? Cuz that would be fitting for Bats’ death scene.

the only critique i have of this is movie is when they first started filming the shots at the bank, it's supposedly "raining" and you can see with some vfx they added in rain, but it if you follow the movie, it stopped raining, and there's sunshine and clear skies with no visible rain or puddles on the ground, and then after the mall there is actual evidence of rain on cars and one shot of the car running through a small puddle
Man I loved this movie the car chases and stunts plus I also have tinnitus and do the same if I don’t have noise in my ears I go nuts from the ringing. It really sucks not being able to enjoy silence.
2:08 i mean...he did what he was told😂
I never noticed this but at 2:20 Baby looks at the alarm before it goes off which makes me wonder if Edgar Wright is implying that Baby knew when it was going to off and was counting down to keep in sync with the music
what alarm do you mean
Fuck I forgot how much I loved this movie in theaters!!!!! I was screaming and hollering!
Someone needs to make a game based on this
Good edit, nice ending
That grandma had a sweet ride
Is that airbag off button a real thing in that car? Or was it put there purely for the movie? Have never seen that before
In some Mitsubishis there is an airbag on and off switch in the glovebox that you can flip if you have a rear child seat in the front for whatever reason or a pregnant person you can choose to have it off
I had one in a 2000 f-150, except you'd use a key to turn it on or off
I believe it's for transporting kids in those backwards seats, an airbag would kill a kid in one of those.
Hear me out to those of you who have played this game and seen this movie before.
Does this not remind you of HiFi-Rush?
Where Baby is basically Chai and the action sequence are in tune with the music.
Crimes Miles "Baby" Prower committed:
-Robbery
-Getaway driver
-Assault
-Car theft
-Dangerous driving
-Shoplifting
-Murder
The buddy actor fits for dallas (payday) live action
The most unrealistic part of this is that they didn't just shoot Baby as soon as he started running.
Buddy and Darling shooting him would have meant they would have had more time trying to kill him then running which would have gotten them killed, Plus they didnt split up then and could have been assuming he was going for another car inwhich they could get it force or not.
The cops have the other 2 to deal with and know he is unarmed, they can catch him and almost do several times he just barely escapes. They dont have much of a reason either.
it anit that much of an issue fr
i loved when buddy shoots one of baby's ipods with the song focus hocus pocus the music just stops playing after the bullet hits the ipod aand baby yells fuck after the shot hits it the ipod
Anyone else notice that the button he pushed was the passenger airbag off?
Oh ok that makes some sense. Brutal way to go but it was fast. Guy killed the person with no reason to do so.

The only thing I never understood about this movie was that whenever baby loses the cops, he never drives smoothly and just incriminates himself again lol

The only thing that bothers me in this scene is how disorienting it is to wear sunglasses with only one lens.
