    Thanks so much! I followed your detailed instructions, put fresh gas and she ran like a dream yesterday! Saved me $60 that I usually spend taking it to the small engine repair guy in town!

    Great video and helped me get my 500E back and running. Saved me time and money getting it to a repairer.

    Certainly a simple carb and simple to work on, I haven't come across one before so it was interesting to see. Thanks for sharing - keep them coming Frank.

      Yeah, I understand that, I'm not a fan of these at all. I really miss the old carb on tank engines, much easier to work on, or even the metal bowl type carbs. Thanks for Watching!!!

    Very good video. I knew I had a fuel problem and you showed me how to remove the carburetor and clean it. The job was reasonably easy and the mower works well. I like my mower with a Briggs & Stratton engine better than the previous Honda powered mowers that I had - they both developed surging issues. After doing the work the mower started and ran well on the first pull of the rope. Now, I wonder how I can get it to run with a quieter exhaust.

    @lar4305 Год назад +4

    Lol, you mentioned that you had one that would not start after 3 or 4 days when it sat. I had the same issue and it drove me nuts to figure it out. but i did, it was the float needle was not sealing and it flooded the engine cylinder. So i cleaned the seat with steel wool and it worked, problem solved.

    Bought a Chinese carb "kit" with carb, gaskets, etc. Installed it but the primer bulb isn't working - quite hard to start. Once started it runs fine. Question - there is a red o-ring in the kit maybe 2/3 inch in diameter; do you know where it goes?

    How come when I press my primer bulb I get fuel that sprays out of that little yellow piece?

  • @tfjack97
    @tfjack97 3 месяца назад +1

    By chance do you think if i get the plug out of the bottom of the float bowl,do you think i can spray carb cleaner up to that check ball and get it cleaned that way. Just saying the lazy way out first.

    • @tfjack97
      @tfjack97 3 месяца назад

      Well instead of trying the lazy way out, I did it your way, since there isn't anything to that carb, I shot carb cleaner in that little hole under that check ball and nothing, took a little wire like you said and sprayed it again and you wouldn't believe the crap that came our of it. Long story short, put it back together and the first pull she fired up😅. Thanks for the detailed video.

    I've seen many videos on this carb, but you are the first one that explained the drain plug on bottom of it. Thank you , not draining the gas out of it has made every spring a pain. Lesson learned , hopefully next year I won't have to go through taking it all apart...again.
