    I would lik to disagree, but I know I will not be heard.
    It's not about the gradient? Tell that to Tour de France riders?
    It is a known fact that seated riding will/can preserve more energy. That is true. It is certainly not seated or standing, but a combination of the two.
    Riding along seated at 7 - 10 % is fine, but when the gradient spikes to 15% a newbie needs to know to stand

    This works for him but for the amateur rider I wouldn't copy his riding technique and fit. The down stroke at the toes you can see loosen and just hang there at the lowest point which means his seatpost is way too high.
    You can also see he moves at the tip of the saddle far forward because he's overreaching the pedals due to the saddle being too high up.
    It works for him but I wouldn't advice a beginner to copy that form

    There's no universally right answer. For me, climbing to get rolling, then sitting to hold cadence. But there are no really steep climbs in my area, so maybe that's wrong. Or it will change.

    • @user-rk6me1ek5t
      @user-rk6me1ek5t Год назад

      Yea , but his technique is acquired for his own training . You can climb on big gears . And depending on length of race . And you can leave the field and ride away. I won races and a weeks wage at 16 years old leaving a field of 40 cyclists. And no one could match a 40 kph break 500 metres up a hill. My timing was to perfection gaining me fastest time in an old fashioned handicap race. The larger gears can reduce your career but what the heck . Not there for a long time just a good time . Put 5 min into them with 20 min left for bunch to finish.

    • @CruzControlPH
      @CruzControlPH  2 года назад +2

      When the rider has an idea how to use his equipment, he can make it work and adapt. Zi apparently wanted to use his bike for time trials but cannot afford to always change chainrings every time he rides on courses with hills

    The more higher cadence is the best practice in climbing and in flat as well. This forced extremely slow cadence is not good for muscles, joints, performance and the bike. Learn to spin! 🙂

      Yes, you have to concentrate, but you also need to pay close attention to your body. When to drink, eat and adjust your cadence and riding style.
