Good day coach today is my 5th road champion Biomechanics and this climb tips save me from the game and I spend less effort while riding with my opponents power pace Can't say anything but proven tested and effective not just for seniors but for me also 22
I would lik to disagree, but I know I will not be heard. It's not about the gradient? Tell that to Tour de France riders? It is a known fact that seated riding will/can preserve more energy. That is true. It is certainly not seated or standing, but a combination of the two. Riding along seated at 7 - 10 % is fine, but when the gradient spikes to 15% a newbie needs to know to stand
always a good day when you guys uploaded a vid. new things to learn everytime. room for improvement does not end. find the best technique that suits your riding style without sacrificing energy and efficiency. when there is a proven method like these Gentz demonstrating, do not be shy to experiment yourself and absorb it. great episode Coach Lei! food for thoughts always. wisdom.
This works for him but for the amateur rider I wouldn't copy his riding technique and fit. The down stroke at the toes you can see loosen and just hang there at the lowest point which means his seatpost is way too high. You can also see he moves at the tip of the saddle far forward because he's overreaching the pedals due to the saddle being too high up. It works for him but I wouldn't advice a beginner to copy that form
Seated when doing my Z2. Seat stand during hill reps and race. I have flat handlebar i can do aero superflat position, i installed rubber sticker to avoid slipping.
There's no universally right answer. For me, climbing to get rolling, then sitting to hold cadence. But there are no really steep climbs in my area, so maybe that's wrong. Or it will change.
Yea , but his technique is acquired for his own training . You can climb on big gears . And depending on length of race . And you can leave the field and ride away. I won races and a weeks wage at 16 years old leaving a field of 40 cyclists. And no one could match a 40 kph break 500 metres up a hill. My timing was to perfection gaining me fastest time in an old fashioned handicap race. The larger gears can reduce your career but what the heck . Not there for a long time just a good time . Put 5 min into them with 20 min left for bunch to finish.
When the rider has an idea how to use his equipment, he can make it work and adapt. Zi apparently wanted to use his bike for time trials but cannot afford to always change chainrings every time he rides on courses with hills
@@emilescheffers5365 With over 50 years on the bike, you "obviously" don't know what you are talking about. Started riding in '68 and racing in '73. Try again. If what I wrote isn't you, you have zero reason to be offended.
True. Not to be mean but that big guy looks absolutely terrible in that lyrca and yeah its also a size too small by the looks of it. If I were that big there is no way I would be seen in public looking like that.
The more higher cadence is the best practice in climbing and in flat as well. This forced extremely slow cadence is not good for muscles, joints, performance and the bike. Learn to spin! 🙂
@@CruzControlPH how does noise have anything to do with you riding style up a hill? Yes, you have to concentrate, but you also need to pay close attention to your body. When to drink, eat and adjust your cadence and riding style.
Awesome! Thanks for the lesson. We bike there last month when I went on vacation. I want to go back there again and apply what you’ve tough us.

Holly Macaroni, 90 degree elbow, youre a monster.
🤣🤣🤣

Is the bike locally made in Philliphine ??
Hello coach watching po rife safe ,also with your buddy tom d tanks enjoy👍🙏👍
You’re always there supporting Our channel. Thank you
Your jersey looks comfortable. Where can I get one?
Glad you think so. If you have access to Facebook, check this page: Bicycle King. They offer the full line of CRZ kits
Hi. Could you info what's a good target W/kg on the climbs for newbies, weekend warriors, and someone who's more veteran... Thanks
As my experienced in biking uphill, standing is really hard. Unless you're a really a strong biker,
@StickyRice also strong upper body, esp when the whole body lacks energy during long rides.
ganda po ng salamin nyo, sir, san nyo po nabili?
Can you try the CORKY road bike mirror from THE BEAM 😉
Oh yeah.,💯%Indeed.,

Brand of green bartape ?
Where is this ?
i think standing is better because it will increase your strength and speed.
Semangat 👍
Seated... The goal is to go up... Conserve energy... In a race standing is OK
Sleeping is the best way to conserve energy. Wasting energy isn’t good for global warming and sustainable lifestyle.
Seat ofc. Off sadle consume to much energy. You'll get exausted faster.
I have 58t on my roadbike × time trial bike and its so hard to spin haha
Absolutely! 58 is a monster gear if paired with the 11 tooth
I have 61 paired with 10, because I like speed a lot.
Does anyone else think his seat looks low?

Coach saan po ang location ng CRZ store?
They have the store along ORTIGAS Avenue extension
Wow sped power the best
Even his 56t chainring works even in climbing Tagaytay. I saw it first hand. Compact chainring works for me now 😁
When the rider has an idea how to use his equipment, he can make it work and adapt. Zi apparently wanted to use his bike for time trials but cannot afford to always change chainrings every time he rides on courses with hills
Yes it's amazing. He even has 7 more gears to spare that time when we climbed there.
Some folks should not be wearing lycra but if they do they should buy it in a size that fits.
You are obviously not a cyclist

Really. Ok chief. You said it :) we will try what we have all been trying until this. The beauty of discoveries
Muscle growth, mitochondria - PHYSIOLOGY.
I like that one,, "the gradient is not the issue"
There’s a mental ingredient to it, specifically the patience not to crack. To a point you need to have laser focus to block the noise around you
@@CruzControlPH how does noise have anything to do with you riding style up a hill?

I choose seated
ang problema ko po sa climbing pag nag aapply ako ng more power di ko mapigilang kumayog lol
Ni need for negative stem, you are already using Dropbar
Pa shout out Po🤭
What can u say about sir jeruz gabriel bashing you?
that aint 15%
I agree, I have to get those expensive garmin crap get warrantied for telling us exaggerated slopes. I would believe you instead
i would get tired quicker if i ride uphill not seated
is this real?? omg please contact me.
❤❤❤❤❤
Thank you for watching!
Napakaexage nung camera angle just to make it looks steep LOL😂
LoL am glad the episode made your day. Thank you for watching. Nothing beats a laugh
for me , slope is my issue
1-14% Seated
>14% standing
PUTA SAGWA HAHAHAHA
