When you go to dealer that sells new/used vehicles dont let them know you watch RUclips. Seem uninterested in vehicles and save thousands.
They're all overpriced imo. Such a shame.
It’s a great price considering it’s basically the same price as a 350 those should just tank in price it’s like they put the 500 in direct competition with the 350 which doesn’t make much sense
Yes! a V8.
The v8 is really nice and legendary
but the g70 sport and Acura tlx type S are good options too considering the price point.
how this compares to GSF?
What color is that exactly?
What area is that? I want to live there. Looks super nice.
Southwest Florida...errbody moving here.
So beautiful
@@KirkKreifels I might be part of the errrbody lol
It's a big shame it doesn't have the new generation infotainment system.

no ECT power mode?
Seems to me that with that much HP, it should go low low 4's to high 3's
I want to see the letdown video for the new WRX when you posting it Kirk?
Haha I'll get to it.
Omg, you guys, you don't need AWD in snowy conditions. That is a myth and marketing tactic. The only exception is if you have to deal with steep inclines that don't get plowed and sprayed with dirt. For all other road conditions, all you need is good snow tires and a couple of bags of salt in the trunk for weight.
Most excellent.
Fucking freaking DREAMING amazing CAR ❗❤️🤘
I'm in love with everything about this car except it's price. Would be nice if it started at 50k and fully loaded ended at 60k.

I'm feeling that chasing lower 0-60 times in a gasoline car that's costs more than 60k is futile. EVs will obliterate them, ICE cars should concentrate on luxury more.
If so, do you anticipate IS500 to be a dud in sales?

Toyota says it’s investing $13.6B in car batteries over the next decade
Toyota will invest around $13.6 billion in battery tech over the next decade, including a $9 billion investment in production, as it attempts to electrify its vehicle lineup, The Wall Street Journal reports. It reportedly plans to have 10 battery production lines by 2025, eventually increasing to around 70 across an unannounced number of factories around the world. Eventually, it could produce as much as 200GWh of batteries, the company’s chief technology officer, Masahiko Maeda, announced in a press briefing.
Toyota’s commitments mirror similar investments planned by others across the au

I love those wheels! But watching this is just so sad as an australian!

Or you can get a 3-4 year old GSF for the same price. !
what if you don’t want a GSF and want a smaller car with a v8… there is a market for the is500
@@2AbleFly then you buy the IS V8! Just saying there are equally affordable Lexus V 8 options. In fact not many if any V8 cars available in the same class as this IS. so it’s a very unique offering.
now put it back into the LS instead of that turbo garbage
Yes 😀
Also include the 10 speed w the active exhaust from the LC convertible
Nah, don't want a land yacht.
@@xoulmannn is that not what the LS already is?
@@vegetarianbacon718 Yeah I said the LS is a land yacht. The IS isn't turbo garbage and it's the most desirable sedan to many folks, like myself. Let's make the IS lineup great again. We're only one step away from a proper F with this car.
I am a Lexus fan. But I expect Lexus to be more cutting edge, instead of going backwards. Where other companies are moving ahead on alternative sources to all fossil power plants, Lexus launches this. 👎
They stuff this motor in the IS, but leave the ES and LS w 6? Im not complaining with what we have, Im complaining about why is not spread around. WTH Lexus?
RX500? LOL I dont think that would actually fit but tell that to Mercedes w/ the W124 who went to Porsche to make it stuff so dont tell me it cant be done. EVERYTHING can be done.

AWD would be killer

If the 0-60 comes within .2-3 seconds of the tlx type s I wonder if Lexus fanboys will call it slow like they did with the type s
0-60 on Acura TLX super s is 5.3-5.5 seconds. This IS is mid 4's....maybe high 4's. Don't get me wrong the TLX type s is a great vehicle but I don't thing it matches up in this case.

man..if only this was AWD
I am still upset that Lexus did not completely redesign the IS, V8 or no V8 they are lazy
Lexus is frustrating with their styling. They'll hype the crap out of an all New vehicle and....then.... It doesn't look much different than the dated vehicle it is replacing.

The CT4-V 2.7T has 380 lb-ft of torque or almost the same as the IS500 for $49K. Then there is Blackwing!
So what
People are happy to pay more upfront so they don't have to pay later on for costly repairs.
You're right, but compare a turbo 6 vs a V8. If longevity is a concern, a low stressed V8 will be a better option than a high stressed V6. So many turbos today for the sake of economy. Most of these cars will be in the salvage yard within 10 years. Toyota is still obsessed with long term reliability, which is a big reason why they haven't been going the turbo route on their cars like the others.
@@KirkKreifels that's what my father inlaw said as a 30-year Toyota owner. Until his 2012 Camry broke a cam sprocket and seized the engine for $4,000 repair bill.
