    Ages ago, I bought a brand new V-8 Ford Mustang. Loved that car.
    Recently, I bought a six cylinder Lexus ES350. Love the size and handling of the car but I miss the power of the eight cylinder.
    Earlier this year, I test drove a V-8 Lexus LC500 and fell in love with the car but not the $100,000 price.
    Thanks for the video. The Lexus IS500 seems like what I want for a reasonable price.

  • @gtslarka

    The Mark Levinson system in the IS 350 is absolutely insane. Clarity, depth, and 1800 watts of pure concert / studio level sound. The pricing will make this a true contender in this segment.

    • @gtslarka
      @gtslarka 3 года назад

      @Rob Bdfgs the system is designed for clarity, not booming bass. If the bass levels are set the mid level it is tough to blow that stock sub. But you are also talking about a vehicle system that is from 2008-2014. Did you end up replacing the stock sub?

    • @gtslarka
      @gtslarka 3 года назад +2

      @Rob Bdfgs I didn't say songs don't have bass. LoL. I said their system is designed to leave the bass on the equilzer down the center . I found the Audi b&o system to sound flat. I work for a large auto group with MB, Audi, BMW, Lexus, VW, Acura and Honda. Hands down the clearest for 2018 and up consistently has been the Mark Levinson system. You are definitely entitled to your view as you have first hand experience but again it's with a system designed from over 10 years ago. I have a 1991 Celica that has an aftermarket radio but the stock 10 speaker system with 8in subs in the doors......not a typo....that was the upgraded system back then and it was among the best of it's time....but paper cones will eventually wear and need to be replaced. Glad you are a fan of the B&O system. Enjoy.

      @@gtslarka. Well said dude, I’ve a 2014 Lexus is300h with the mark levinson 15 speaker system, tell me, why does the CD player Sound much better than the radio when playing music loud?…

    • @gtslarka
      @gtslarka 3 года назад +4

      Lexus is among the last to have a CD player. CD's have the most uncompressed sound vs USB/mp3, bt audio, satillite radio or hd radio. Lexus hold true to allow for optimal quality. The upcoming NX will be their first vehicle without a CD player as the use of the CD player, even among audiophiles has decreased.

    • @xoulmannn
      @xoulmannn 3 года назад +2

      @@user-ls2jg7vl2h I don't look at price like many because I won't ever buy a Lexus & i only car about the cars themselves. Regardless of that fact, I'd like to see Lexus produce something that wears the "F" name with all their pride & has been crafted with the complete vision of Lexus/Toyota performance. Not an "F Sport".
      There is a difference, between "F" & "F Sport" just like their is a difference between Audi S & Audi S-Line, BMW M & BMW M###i (i.e. - M235i), AMG & AMG-Line, STi & STi-Sport/tS, Ford ST & Ford ST-Line, SRT & RT, even GR & GR Sport, & so on ....
      This Lexus is nice and all, but from what I've heard & what I already concluded is that this car just has a V8 that used to be in F cars, but doesn't have the rest of of qualities that make it a BMW M competitor, nor does it feel like a "complete" car from Lexus F. Specifically speaking, it does not have the handling and aero of a full-fledged F, not to mention the design is akin to a basic IS. These are decent cars, but not the rawest iteration of what an "F" is supposed to be.
      Again, this is like an M340i to an M3, an A4 S-Line to an S4, a Hyundai Elantra N-Line to an N ... the list goes on, but do you see what I'm saying? It's really no surprise more brands are making watered down versions of what their performance divisions can make by making "sport" or "line" trims of pre-exisiting models, because multi-purpsoed sports cars are dying. Only the traditional or very distinct ones are still here, like Miatas, Exiges, 911s, Mustangs, Challengers, all the way to GTRs, Vantages, & the likes of hypercars.
      Trims of cars like this are the industry's ways of trying to satisfy the enthusiast crowds & communities while preventing companies from going bankrupt.

The only exception is if you have to deal with steep inclines that don't get plowed and sprayed with dirt. For all other road conditions, all you need is good snow tires and a couple of bags of salt in the trunk for weight.
